Chapter 117: The Krieg Pirates
The Baratie
Inside the restaurant, the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Ace was already half out of his chair, flames licking at his fingertips. Luffy was crouched, ready to launch himself.
"I'll handle them!"
"No, I'm going first!"
But just as they were about to charge out—
Roy simply turned his head and gave them a single, meaningful look.
The two boys froze. Confused, but obedient, they sat back down, though they looked like they were about to explode.
"Big Bro Roy?" Luffy tilted his head, a piece of meat still hanging from his mouth. "Aren't we gonna beat them up?"
Roy shook his head slightly, his eyes deep and calm. "Not yet. Watch first."
Outside on the Deck
The wind howled. Over thirty pirate ships surrounded the Baratie.
Black flags snapped in the wind. Rows of cannons were aimed directly at the restaurant's front doors.
On the flagship, a man in golden armor and a plumed helmet stood at the bow, laughing arrogantly. "ZEFF!! GET OUT HERE!!"
"Hand over the Baratie, or I, Don Krieg, will blow this ship to pieces!!!"
Inside, the chaos was absolute. Guests were screaming, hiding under tables. The chefs gripped their knives, but none dared to step forward.
Suddenly—
"BANG!!!"
The restaurant doors were kicked open!
Sanji, his chef's whites immaculate but his blond hair wild, stormed out, veins popping on his forehead. "You damn pirates... Get out of here!"
"You're scaring our customers!"
Krieg paused, then his face twisted in rage. "Where did this brat come from?! You dare talk to me like that?!"
He raised a massive, spear-like weapon, aiming it at Sanji, his finger on the trigger.
In that split second—
FWOOSH!
A shadow moved behind Krieg, grabbing the barrel of the gun.
It was the silent, deadly combat commander of the Krieg Pirates—Gin the Man-Demon.
"Don," Gin said, his voice cold as ice. "Let me handle him."
Krieg snorted. "Hmph. Don't keep me waiting."
Gin nodded, then leaped from the flagship, landing silently on the Baratie's deck like a hawk.
Sanji narrowed his eyes. "...This guy is trouble."
Gin stood like a statue, slowly raising his tonfas. "Kid. Leave now. It's not too late."
Sanji scoffed, pivoting on his heel. "Neck Meat!"
His leg whipped out like a blade, aimed at Gin's head!
—But it was easily blocked by an iron-hard forearm.
WHACK!
Sanji's eyes widened. He tried to jump back, but Gin was already moving. "Demon Spin: Bone Break!"
"BAM—!"
A heavy blow struck Sanji in the ribs. He grunted, sliding back several meters, his boots screeching on the deck.
"He's heavy... and his guard is flawless!"
Sanji wiped blood from his lip and charged again!
"Shoulder Meat!"
"Back Meat!"
"Saddle Meat!"
A flurry of kicks rained down, changing angles constantly!
But Gin seemed to predict every move, dodging or blocking effortlessly.
Then—
"Demon Spin: Tendon Snap!"
CRACK!
Gin spun, his tonfa smashing into the side of Sanji's knee!
"GAAH—!"
Sanji fell to one knee, cold sweat pouring down his face, his leg trembling.
Gin stood over him, cold and indifferent. "Give up. You can't beat me."
Inside, Ace and Luffy were watching through the window.
"That curly-brow guy... he's gonna lose!" Luffy said, mouth agape.
Ace frowned. "That pirate... speed, power, reaction time... he's outclassing Sanji in everything."
Roy leaned against the window frame, his gaze calm but sharp. A small smile played on his lips. "'Man-Demon' Gin... people in my old world used to rate him pretty highly."
Just then—
THUD—!
The restaurant doors opened again, heavy and deliberate.
Zeff, leaning on his peg leg, walked out slowly. His face was grim, his hawk-like eyes locking onto Gin. "Enough."
His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable authority.
Gin turned, a flicker of something in his eyes.
Zeff walked up to Sanji, looking down at him. "What kind of man bullies a kid?"
Gin was silent for a moment, then frowned and took two steps back, lowering his weapons.
On the flagship, Krieg saw this and roared with laughter. "ZEFF! You finally came out!"
"So? Are you ready to hand over the restaurant?!"
Zeff didn't blink. "Keep dreaming!"
Krieg's face turned purple. In a rage, he pulled a pistol from his belt and aimed it at Zeff!
"You crippled old fool! You DARE defy me?!"
"DIE!!!"
"BANG—!!!"
The gunshot rang out!
The bullet tore through the air, straight for Zeff's chest!
"OLD MAN!!!"
Sanji, ignoring the pain in his knee, launched himself forward, tackling Zeff to the deck!
Ping—!
The bullet grazed Zeff's coat and embedded itself in the wood, sparking.
Sanji lay on top of Zeff, pale but furious, glaring at Krieg. "Krieg... YOU BASTARD!!!"
Krieg, having missed and now being glared at by a kid, was apoplectic. "Damn brat! You dare glare at me?!"
He waved his arm. "FIRE! FIRE ALL CANNONS! TURN THIS SHIP TO DRIFTWOOD!!!"
"YES, DON KRIEG!"
Thirty pirate ships turned their guns. Dozens of black muzzles aimed at the Baratie!
The air froze.
"Crap... the restaurant can't take a barrage like that!"
Zeff's face fell. Sanji gritted his teeth, sweat running down his face.
In that moment of despair—
"—Are you done playing?"
A calm, yet overwhelmingly oppressive voice drifted from inside the restaurant.
Krieg paused, looking over.
The doors opened again. Three figures walked out, side-by-side.
In the center was Roy, his coat flapping, his eyes cold and indifferent.
Flanking him were Ace and Luffy, their eyes burning with battle lust.
Krieg squinted, then sneered. "Just a Marine? And two brats who haven't even hit puberty?"
He threw his head back and laughed. "I've killed more Marines than you've ever met!!!"
Roy ignored him. He just tilted his head slightly and said to the boys, "Go."
"BOOOOM—!!!"
Ace instantly transformed into a raging inferno, launching himself into the air, his fists blazing!
"FIRE FIST—!!!"
A massive fist of fire fell like a meteor, crashing straight into Krieg's flagship!
KA-BOOM!!!
The explosion was deafening. The bow of the flagship disintegrated in the flames. Fire swallowed the deck, and pirates screamed as they dove into the sea!
Krieg was blown into the air, eyes bulging in horror. "WH-WHAT?!!!"
Gin turned back, his pupils shrinking. "Fire...?!"
Before he could react—
"Iron Fist: Cannon!!!"
Luffy appeared instantly, roaring as he unleashed a double-fisted strike!
"BAM!!!"
The blow hit Gin square in the chest. The sheer force sent him flying backward, smashing through the railing and crashing into the deck, sending splinters flying!
He lay on the ground, coughing up a huge mouthful of blood, struggling to lift his head, his eyes filled with shock. "This kid... how does his punch hit this hard?!!"
