Cherreads

Chapter 8 - The Long Awaited Day

In Parthion, the echoes of laughter could be heard. The youngest princess of Parthion, Liora Parvelis, was loved by everyone. She was a huge fan of Caelith because his father always talked good about him. She thought he was a great man and a respectable character.

She treasured Caelith's gift which she received on her first birthday. She was a kind and playful girl—the elf princess who was adored by all.

Her dad told her, if she became a good archer and trained daily, he'd take her to Caelith's 16th birthday party, when he was going to come out.

She was excited and trained very hard. Although she was gifted from birth and had a too-much playful character, she used to roam through all the streets of the capital, and everyone in the capital personally knew her.

She held a bow specially made for her and roamed through all the streets, playing with kids, helping others, and having fun. People called her 'Mischievous Guardian' since she used to play there and roam like a guardian soldier.

While she was young and playful, she was quite the opposite of her brothers. They were pretty disciplined and focused on their archery practice.

She was so mischievous that even Mr. X used to laugh sometimes while observing her.

---

In the castle of Arcanis, Caelith spent most of his time training and talking to Sylra. They used to go to the market since Caelith thought that Sylra might get bored, unlike him. If it wasn't for Sylra, he wouldn't have gotten out of his room, let alone going to the market.

Still, Caelith's behavior of talking less never went away since the death of his parents. However, Sylra never felt that Caelith ever treated her badly.

Sylra practiced her arts since she needed to be strong too. Caelith taught her some magic—not much, since Sylra didn't have a talent for magic—but her growth in assassination was developing at high speed. Caelith understood that and taught her a very few defense spells since assassination techniques are enough for attacking, but defense needed years of training. Therefore, Caelith taught her magic so that she could be safer.

She wore a necklace which was golden in color and had a dragon-shaped pendant. It was actually gifted by Caelith on her birthday while they were in Noctyra. It was the artifact Caelith talked about. Except for Caelith and the Emperors, no one knew the function of this necklace.

Sylra got used to living in Arcanis, and the atmosphere of Arcanis was much better than Noctyra since everyone used to hate her there and no one actually talked to her. Meanwhile, she could talk to everyone here.

Sometimes Caelith used to think that he should send her to a junior academy where she could make friends her age, but didn't, because she needed to be alone in the path of assassination.

His understanding was next level since he knew an assassin needed to be more brutal and heartless while killing their target. So, Caelith used to take her on monster hunts.

Caelith used to weaken them by magic; then Sylra used to practice her arts on them—how much a child near four years of age can do. Well, Caelith was built different.

While everything was happening, Raizen Dravane was fighting for his life for the next three years. He tried his very best to survive, and he fought many beasts and monsters.

He fought many beasts and killed every monster to make his way to the center of the jungle.

The center of the jungle resided a ferrous beast; only a Rank 5 (5-star) warrior could fight it in today's generation.

It was a huge serpent, a very huge one. Its skin was dark green and had some dark blue patches, as if venom was being stored there. Its two eyes were one of the most dangerous things Raizen had ever seen.

Raizen had become a 5-star warrior by now, but to fight a monster like it, he was scared but had to clear the challenge to prove himself.

When he took the first step without fearing about the results and used his spear to attack with full force, the snake held the spear with its tail and laughed, "Hmmm, nice spirits, no fear of death, just like his predecessors. Hahaha, the Dravane family really produces good warriors."

Raizen was too shocked when he heard the sound. The snake then said, "Don't worry, child, I'm not going to hurt you. You passed the test and can return home now." With that, the snake took out a badge and threw it towards him.

With the badge in hand, he got teleported back to his castle, near the teleportation portal.

---

In Veyndor, Zephyr got used to the Eye of Wisdom and was practicing his telekinesis while keeping it hidden. He was a quiet child and only opened his mouth when needed.

Whenever anyone asked about why he didn't talk, he always replied, "Nothing much, observing the beauty of the world."

He started using the Eye of Wisdom and had become a 1st-star warrior in martial arts. Although he was a 1-circle mage too, as the Eye of Wisdom helped him to gain telekinesis, which consumes mana.

He wanted to meet a guy called Caelith since he heard from his father that, "Caelith was an exceptionally talented mage. No one in the current generation could beat him."

He wanted to learn about mana and a few spells so that he could take his power of telekinesis to another level, but couldn't meet Caelith due to Caelith's closed-door training.

He started to read books and couldn't even comprehend the first page of the book 'History of Veyrault' and just wanted to wait until Caelith finished his training.

---

Everything went smoothly, and two more years passed.

Sylra got to nine years of age and became an advance 2-star warrior, meanwhile Caelith got 16. Their bond became too strong by now. Sylra never returned to her home, but she called Arcanis her home and used to send letters to her father and brother.

Since Sylra and Caelith shared the same birthday, Caelith organized a big party. Every emperor was invited. Since Sylra's birthday never got celebrated in this type of party, Caelith used his father's way of celebrating a birthday. Though they had celebrated Sylra's birthday throughout these years, Caelith never celebrated his birthday. He let everything be free on the whole continent. (Well, he's 16 now and has been the official Emperor of Arcanis, so everything was in his power.)

The preparation of the party started in a grand manner. The whole of Arcanis was decorated. It had been a while since Arcanis had been decorated like this. The last time it was when Caelith's fourth birthday was celebrated.

Everyone was too excited.

---

Meanwhile, in other continents, the most excited ones were the heirs of royal families. Some were Caelith's friends while others only heard about him from their elder brother or elder family members.

In Parthion, Liora had become a very good archer and was very excited when she heard her father talking about Caelith and Sylra's birthday party.

She had become an early 2-star warrior, and now was the time when her father would fulfill his promise.

In Valthera, the most excited ones were Draen and Astrein. Astrein had always heard about Caelith and now he was finally going to meet this Caelith.

In Dravonar, the crown prince, Francis Dravane, who was friends with Caelith, was too excited when his father told him about the party.

In Noctyra, the Emperor and Kaelen were too much excited. There were two reasons: first, to celebrate Sylra and Caelith's birthday, and the other to check on Sylra's progress. Meanwhile, everyone in court was jealous of her, especially the Empress, the mother of the crown prince.

In Veyndor, the crown prince and Zephyr were too excited. Zephyr always wanted to meet a character like Caelith since he had heard a lot of praises about him from his father, and finally, he could request Caelith to teach him magic.

Everyone was dressed up and couldn't wait until evening. Everyone was in high spirits.
