Chapter 4 - The Brewing Storm...

Arthur then turned to the system after giving Titan a name, "Come on, system, show me what I obtained from the loots."

The system's golden screen flashed for a moment before displaying a new line of information.

[Loots: 25 pieces of silver, one mana recovery potion, and three health potions]

Arthur nodded, impressed, then asked, "In essence, the knight killed roughly twenty-nine people?"

The feminine voice resounded once more in his mind.

{No, you should know that there are normally thirty goblins inside an E-rank dungeon. The last one you killed dropped the celestial stone, which you used to summon the dragon knight.}

Arthur blinked, processing her words.

"Hmm?" Arthur was shocked. "You mean I obtained that celestial stone from a goblin I killed?"

{Of course. It was loot dropped by the goblin. You can also obtain other celestial stones from slaying goblins, although it is very rare to find them.}

He exhaled softly, the tension from the battle fading away. Rubbing his bald head, he said aloud with a chuckle… "It seems I'm destined to be enemies with these dungeon creatures. After all, only by killing them can I obtain celestial stones."

The system remained silent.

Arthur glanced around, studying his surroundings before shrugging.

Having nothing to fear, he said to the dragon knight, "Titan, come, let's head back home."

The knight raised its great sword and hoisted it onto its shoulder before following behind Arthur toward a shimmering blue portal that now pulsed faintly in the air, as though waiting for them.

Arthur felt the blue light engulf him, and so did the dragon knight. There was a pull one moment, then the next, Arthur appeared back in the real world. The guards in front of it stared at him with dumbfounded looks.

Arthur stared at them in anger before shrugging and continuing on his way.

The ground trembled as the dragon knight appeared before the portal, its steps echoing like rolling thunder as it also walked forward, following its master. The guards froze, eyes wide…

Only when they had vanished from the guards' sight did the two knights finally breathe out in relief, collapsing to the ground.

"Blood of Jesus! What the hell is that? What sort of creature is that? It stared at me once, and all sorts of illusions of my head falling off my neck appeared in my mind…"

"The creature is following the young master. Did he get lucky and find some sort of treasure inside the dungeon?"nThe second guard, his voice steadier but his eyes darting nervously, guessed. However, the other guard shook his head, struggling to stand up with trembling legs.

"There's no need to dwell on it. The Pendragon family has changed drastically now. I doubt he'll survive long with just that treasure…"

The second guard nodded in understanding, a chuckle escaping his lips.

Arthur and Titan walked through the stoned corridor, heading to the meeting room.

Passing through flowers, trees, and a few more servants and guards who stared at both of them in shock, he soon reached the room.

A small grin tugged at Arthur's lips. Wanting to give his father a surprise, he gestured at Titan toward the door.

Titan stepped forward, raised the golden sword from his shoulder, and slammed forward.

Bang!

A terrifying shockwave exploded, and the door was split into split into countless fragments, lightning crackling around it as dust engulfed Arthur and his summon.

"Who is it?" a voice called out from inside the room, filled with anger…

"It's me, your grandpa!" Arthur recognized this voice as one of the people who had previously gloated at him.

The dust finally settled the moment Arthur finished speaking, and his figure was revealed to the crowd.

However, their gazes were soon drawn to the massive being behind him, its golden eyes locking onto them with startling intensity.

"Ar—Arthur?" everyone's gaze soon returned to Arthur, and they were shocked.

"What the hell? How did you survive an E-rank dungeon?" another elder asked in confusion.

Arthur ignored them, wrinkling his brows as he stared at the head seat, where a man who looked to be in his forties was seated.

It was the seat designated only for the king. However, the person seated there… wasn't his father!

Arthur's chest tightened, disbelief and anger swirling together in his heart.

"What the fuck is going on?" Arthur questioned angrily.

Based on the knowledge he had gathered over the years, no one was ever to sit on the seat of the king himself aside from the king!

The middle-aged man rested his hand on the table, placing it beneath his long, dark beard before answering.

"Well, how do I put this in a way that it won't hurt you? Your father is… dead." The man's tone was calm, almost mocking.

"Huh?"

"Long story short, the old man is dead, and his brother, Modret, is now the ruler of the Pendragon family," another elder explained. However, one could sense the mockery hidden beneath his voice.

"What?" Arthur was stunned, unable to comprehend what the elder was saying.

There were a few whose heads were down as they heard the words, unable to look up at Arthur.

Meanwhile, the system spoke in his mind…

{Host, are you okay?}

Only after hearing the enchanting feminine voice did Arthur recover from his shock and comprehend the meaning of the words.

"You killed my father for your own selfish reasons?" Arthur's voice trembled with rage as he raised his eyes to stare intently at the man seated in the head seat.

He was Arthur's only brother!

"Do not accuse the acting king falsely…" another elder spoke up.

"And what if I do?" Arthur's gaze was unwavering.

The king remained silent, then turned to the two guards at the door and nodded at them.

The guards tightened their grips on their spears and lunged at Arthur.

Crackle, crackle…

Swoosh, swoosh…

A sharp gust of charged air swept through the room. Before the two guards who had reached Arthur could react, their heads were severed from their bodies, lightning crackling on their necks before proceeding to incinerate their bodies—leaving only their heads, frozen with stiff expressions.

Gasps and muffled screams filled the hall as the sight was revealed to them.

Standing in the place of their bodies was the towering golden knight, its body crackling with lightning and its burning golden eyes radiating an intense heat that made the temperature in the room rise by several degrees.

"What?" Modret stood up from his seat in shock, and so did a few others.

Their gazes on Titan were now cold, filled with apprehension.

Titan retrieved his sword and walked to stand in front of Arthur, then pointed it straight at the remaining elders as though declaring war on them.

"I don't know where you came from, but you shouldn't interfere in the affairs of nobles," one of the elders warned. However, the knight remained silent.

The acting king looked slightly angered for a brief instant before turning to an elder and nodding.

A green longsword appeared in the elder's hand, and moving like a snake, he appeared in front of the golden knight in an instant, his blade heading straight toward its heart.

Clang!

The sound of metal colliding against metal resounded as the blade attack was brushed aside.

Lightning crackled at the tip of the knight's blade as he swiftly made his own attack.

Arthur's heart pounded as sparks of lightning flared once more, illuminating the hall.
