Immediately, Arthur conducted the summoning, and a mass of pulsating darkness surfaced.
Then a pitch-black portal, like the endless abyss, materialized in front of him.
From within the portal came a faintly shimmering golden knight who stepped out.
Immediately sensing the tense atmosphere, Titan stood in front of Arthur.
Boom!
The ceiling, which was crumbling towards him, landed on him fiercely, exploding into fragments and debris.
However, the dragon knight remained standing in place, and beneath him was Arthur, crouched low.
Arthur exhaled in relief, then gradually stood up from the ground, dusting his clothes.
Titan stared at him in curiosity, as though waiting for his next orders.
Arthur could hear piercing screams in the surroundings, so after a momentary deliberation, he spoke up.
"For now, let's head out and see what's going on."
Arthur knew that staying here in the face of the unknown would only bring unwanted danger, and he was unwilling to take such a risk.
Titan nodded, then swiftly turned to the door, the golden sword hanging firmly on his shoulder as he began walking forward.
The clang of his steel equipment and the metallic clash of his golden sword against his armor reverberated through the surroundings.
Arthur frowned for a moment, wrinkling his nose slightly before shrugging.
'Whatever, I just need to see this through to the end.'
Making that decision internally, he didn't hesitate any longer, swiftly following the dragon knight.
Leaving the room, Arthur glanced at the corridors and noticed it was quiet.
'I can hear distant sounds, but the corridor is too quiet. The guards aren't where they are supposed to be stationed, and there are no maids around.'
Arthur's heart was uneasy; however, glancing at the calm and composed dragon knight, he maintained his composure.
Titan walked like a towering mountain which couldn't be fazed by the wind and rain.
Feeling some measure of confidence due to his summoned calamity, he followed behind.
Abruptly, Titan paused in his tracks, lightning crackling around him intensely as the sword in his hand shifted from his shoulder, slashing outwards.
The sword arced and slashed at the nearby wall, causing a loud explosion to resound as the wall was crushed and the figure behind it was smashed apart.
To Arthur's shock, he realized it was a skeleton.
'What?' Stunned, he moved closer and realized it was truly a skeleton.
'Is this the work of a necromancer class?'
He knew that there were a few classes ranked at the top by the organizations, like the warrior class—the necromancer was one of them.
As he was studying the destroyed skeleton, the dragon knight had already moved, sensing another danger.
Lightning crackled around him and turned into a burst of sparks that surfaced and slashed forward.
Ahead of them were three more skeletons, which were swiftly ripped apart, their bones splintering against the walls.
Arthur stood up and continued with Titan leading the way and killing everything in their path.
Behind them were countless skeletons piled up in fragmented rows as both of them continued on their way.
Finally, after an arduous struggle, they left the chamber and returned to the outside world. The sheer scale of the atrocity stopped Arthur dead in his tracks.
In front of him were countless hordes of undead, including ghouls, skeletons, and a few more rare undead types.
And around them were mangled bodies, servants screaming out to anyone for help, and others trying to fight for a chance of survival.
Swish!
A blinding red light bloomed in the night, brightening the dark sky blood red.
Arthur quickly snapped his gaze towards the direction and noticed an old man with a walking stick swinging it forward.
The man's expression was tranquil, as though he couldn't see the death of everyone in front of him.
And ahead of him was a lady with black hair, pale skin, and empty eye sockets.
"Hehehe, old man, watch as my babies destroy the Pendragon royal family!" Her voice was loud and melodious as she roared with laughter, a massive bone spike jutting out of the sky to block the destructive sword strike the man sent in her direction.
The old man remained unfazed by her words, swiftly dealing another stroke of his sword.
Swish!
Another red light surfaced on his walking stick which he swung forward, the glow brightening the night sky and turning it blood red once more.
Just like before, the lady waved her hand, and this time a massive skeleton head materialized, enclosing her in its mouth.
The netherworld empress could feel the increasingly destructive might in all his sword strikes.
Bang!
The red light collided with the massive skeleton head and created a deep pit in the bony frame of the skeleton head. However, her face broke into a smile.
"Old man, you are at the end of your lifespan and are too weak to do anything to me!"
Another red light bloomed, striking at the skeleton's head.
Boom!
A massive explosion resounded, and the lady was sent flying into the distance, the skeleton head exploding into countless bone fragments which spiraled and turned into more skeletons.
The lady laughed wildly, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth before condensing another skeleton head.
The old man paused in his attacks, as though he was catching a breath.
The lady laughed, "Old man, have you reached your limit already? Attack me a few more times, I was only just starting to enjoy the ticklish sensation!"
Finally, for the first time since their battle, the old man's face scrunched up slightly and he muttered in a low voice.
"Destructive sword…"
Although his voice was low, the lady heard it clearly, her eyes widening in shock.
'He couldn't have… he couldn't have comprehended that technique.'
She didn't have time to think as countless red lights surfaced, surrounding her.
The accumulated sword energy, previously dispersed, began to coalesce. It hummed, then screamed, as the countless red lights snapped back together and charged at the necromancer with exponential speed.
Before the lady could blink, they appeared in front of her, and a thunderous collision erupted between the two.
Due to the intense force behind the sword energy, the skeleton fragmented into sand, instantly blocking her state from everyone's line of sight.
Seeing this, some of them were relieved. However, Arthur squinted his eyes, noticing the old man's tense expression.
The dragon knight even came and stood in front of him as though he were facing a formidable enemy—a reaction vastly different from when he was facing the old man—and lightning and fire crackled around him, sparking intensely as though they would erupt at any moment.
The dust gradually cleared, revealing the state of the lady.
She was disheveled, her hair a mess, and her clothes fully ragged, leaving her badly exposed. There was a deep gash running straight from her shoulder all the way down through her hand, and her face was pale.
Her eyes were filled with anger, and surrounding her was a massive creature that Arthur had only read about in legends.
"A dragon—no, she made an undead out of a dragon???" Arthur drew in a sharp breath, his nerves tensing drastically.
