At the Academy Gardens,
It was past curfew. The border between the Sun Faction Dormitory (East Wing) and the Moon Faction Dormitory (West Wing) was patrolled by prefects, but for a Master Alchemist and a Genius Analyst, a patrol route was just another puzzle to solve.
Rosalie Vanya crept through the bushes. She was wearing a "stealth suit" she had made herself, which was just her regular uniform covered in actual leaves and twigs she had glued on with sap.
She whispered the password at the old stone fountain.
Exothermic Reaction.
A figure stepped out from behind the statue of the First Headmaster.
Thomas Briar checked his pocket watch. The moonlight reflected off his glasses.
"You are forty-two seconds late," Thomas whispered, though his relief was palpable. "I calculated a 12% chance you had been captured by Sir Roderick."
"Roderick is guarding the front gate," Rosalie giggled, shedding a few leaves as she ran to him. "I came through the ventilation shaft of the greenhouse!"
