The pack's den was buzzing with activity as the wolves prepared for battle. Aria watched as Elijah and Asher discussed the plan, their voices low and urgent.
"We'll attack at dawn," Elijah said, his eyes locked onto the map spread out before them. "We'll hit them hard and fast, giving them no time to react."
Asher nodded, his expression serious. "I'll lead the vanguard," he said. "You take the flank."
Elijah nodded, his jaw clenched. "Let's do this."
Aria felt a surge of excitement mixed with fear. She knew that the battle would be intense, and that there would be casualties.
Luna grabbed her arm, her eyes wide with worry. "Aria, I'm scared," she whispered.
Aria hugged her tightly. "I know, me too," she said. "But we'll get through this together. We have to."
As the night wore on, the pack's preparations continued. Aria watched as the wolves geared up, their faces set with determination.
Elijah approached her, his eyes locked onto hers. "Stay safe, okay?" he said. "Asher will get you and Luna to a safe place before the battle starts."
Aria nodded, feeling a sense of unease. She didn't want to leave Elijah's side, but she knew she had to trust him.
As the pack began to move out, Aria felt a sense of trepidation. This was it. The battle was about to begin.
Asher led them to a small cave, hidden away from the main battle. "Stay here," he said, his voice firm. "I'll come back for you when it's safe."
Aria nodded, her heart racing with fear. She knew that the battle would be intense, and that there was no guarantee of victory.
As Asher disappeared into the night, Aria felt a sense of uncertainty. What would happen next? Would they win? Would Elijah be okay?
The minutes ticked by, the sound of growling and snarling growing louder. Aria's heart was racing, her senses on high alert.
And then, suddenly, the cave entrance was filled with a figure. Aria's heart skipped a beat as she saw Asher, his face covered in blood.
"It's over," he said, his voice gruff. "We won."
Aria felt a surge of relief, but it was short-lived. Asher's expression was grim, and Aria knew that the cost of victory had been high.
"What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Asher's eyes locked onto hers, and Aria saw a glimmer of sadness. "Elijah was injured," he said. "It's bad."
