Shen Yue without rest takes care of the funeral. When the relative from step father side comes, instead of helping they add problems. Her step sister Ming Yi who still on injuries cries in the corner got berated by Ming Yi uncle saying Ming Yi is Jinx for getting her father, her step mother killed and her half little brother in coma. No one helped Ming Yi.
Shen Yue after finishing the funeral ceremony tiredly comes to Ming Yi's side with a cold face shielding Ming Yi away and talks to Ming Yi uncle with sneer "Uncle this funeral place knows your place".
With a red face from embarrassed Ming Yi Uncle Shouted " You Just a Brat! Don't interfere in our family matters!".
"Heh! Your family matters, but on paper I am still Ming Yi legal guardian. Just shut up, you are so loud, don't have any manner"
Shen Yue dragged Ming Yi to Side Hall then talked to Ming Yi gently " there's a small room beside the right entrance. You can rest there, I will take care of the funeral".
"But sister…" Still in tears, Ming Yi tugged Shen Yue's sweater and looked at Shen Yue pitifully. "Sign.. You're still injured, I can take care alone. Go take a rest okay" Shen Yue wiped Ming Yi tears with a handkerchief.
Ming Yi nods and then she enters the room slowly, inside there a small kitchen, dining table, sofa, coffee table and two single beds. On the sofa there is a packed backpack, and on the coffee table a lot of documents It's Shen Yue's. Ming Yi goes to bed and sees her favorite rabbit doll sitting beside folded blankets, Ming Yi knows it's Shen Yue who brought it. The tears that were already dry reappeared. Ming Yi hugged her rabbit doll tight.
In Afternoon
Ming Yi wakes up after a restless sleep, she looks at the clock already about to 6 PM, she tidies herself going back to the funeral hall, when she opens the door slightly she hears her uncle's voice, she decides to eardrop quietly.
"What do you mean! Are you crazy!"
"Shhh… quite down" whisper someone
"She's a jinx!" yelled Ming Yi uncle back
"Shhh, quite down, quite down!, hear me out. Since the accident was the truck company's fault the compensation is quite large. It's a lot of money!. Even after your brother died, no one is gonna help us anymore, your mother is already old and Ming Yi is a girl. The money can't go to her but there is still Ming Xin. Ming Xin is still in a coma right now but if he went to the money gonna go to Ming Yi. So let's just pretend we take care of her, we take that money. Even someone ask we take care of Ming Yi so the money is for us to take care of her"
Ming Yi could tell that is uncle's wife who been disliked her since childhood, she liked to pretend to be nice in front of her father but bullied her in the back. Ming Yi closed the door and she came back to the bed to hug her rabbit doll again.
At 7 PM the funeral hall was already empty of visitors , Shen Yue who busily took care of the funeral finally able to rest. Shen Yue takes two packed foods and two water bottles to bring Ming Yi and eat dinner together.
When Shen Yue enter the room she look at Ming Yi who blackly seat on the bed while tightly hug rabbit doll
"Time for dinner" Shen Yue put the packed food on the dining table then open the food while took a sit facing Ming Yi
"Ming Yi come here, lets eat"
"Hmm."
"What Hmm! Come here, eat with me, don't starve yourself!"
Ming Yi obediently put her rabbit doll away then took a sit in front of Shen Yue
"here , Lets eat" Shen Yue gave Ming Yi Chopstick
"After eating I will tell you something serious about our future. So let's us recharge first"
"Okay sister" Ming Yi eats quietly feeling sad.
"Its okay if you can't finish it just eat your fill give the rest for me, just eat slowly"
Ming Yi knows that after this Shen Yue will abandon her as a burden.
After a long quiet dinner Shen Yue threw away the empty packed food. Shen Yue then took documents from the coffee table, then sat down again at the dining table.
"Ming Xin already woke up yesterday, but because the injury is in the head, he still can't move his body. The doctor said he still can be saved since he still young but the hospital here doesn't have the full medical instrument so i will transfer him to capital city hospital two days later when the transfer permission approved"
Shen Yue the open the document put in front of Ming Yi
"Here look, this is the compensation slip from the truck company. Rest assured the withdrawal of funds can only be done by you when you become adult same as Ming Xin its already backed by lawyer so your uncle family cant touch it"
With shocked face Ming Yi look at Shen Yue
"Sister you know!"
"Heh, do they think i am an idiot cant see their greedy face. Now the last one is about your future. The compensation fund can be used for future college funds, but now you are still 15 years old and about to enter junior high school next year. With Ming Xin's medical condition and my future jobs, my life will be centered in the capital city. So i will ask you Ming Yi, do you want to follow me to the capital city, about your junior high school my professor wife is a teacher and your exam result qualify to register there so you can enter next year or you going to continue here since your relative live here, the house i will not sold it since you live here , i still support your daily live but i cant look after you 24/7 since i live far away. What do you think?"
Ming Yi felt touched that Shen Yue did not abandon her. Ming Yi is not stupid she know if she want to live here she will not happy
