"Elerium is an extraterrestrial metal that came from the same meteorites as adamantium as they crashed onto our planet."
"While it is not as durable or has high storing capacity as the adamantium, it has something that no other metal has."
"It has unlimited energy generation ability and hence the price."
"However, it seemed like there was a seal on it. It would be foolish to sell it to an Auction House. If I were you, I would go to sealing masters to break the seal and use it for myself."
Liu Wei patiently explained to him through his air writing, not intending to let the Auction House scam the fellow and earn billions of profit later on.
As for the reason? It is because this auction house belongs to the Divinian Council, which is his biggest enemy. If it was adventurer guild-owned auction house, Liu Wei wouldn't have bothered to explain.
The assistant manager's legs started shivering in fear as mana surged out of Val's body, covering him up as some sort of a layer while his hands reached out to his back. Luckily for him, Val's attention wasn't on him but on the stranger who just said that.
"Look, I don't know who you are, but I'm going under the assumption that you are right. If I found you were purposely causing trouble with misinformation, you would face consequences. I will hunt you down no matter where you hide. I hope you remember that."
Liu Wei shrugged his shoulders and calmly looked away, ignoring his threat as if he was saying that it didn't concern him.
Val stared at him for a couple of seconds and calmly picked up the sword from the floor. Placing it back into his Hundred thousand dollar worth storage ring, he walked away from the place.
"I should inform the manager," mumbled the assistant manager before he rushed out of the place. Meanwhile, Sophia walked to him in just as hurry as the assistant manager was and scolded in a loud whisper, grabbing his collar, "Do you have to do that? You know the last time you offended someone, we had to…"
"Uhh… Is everything alright?" Richard's voice was heard before she finished her sentence. Sophia and Liu Wei looked at him and shook their heads simultaneously.
"You sure? Earlier, I sensed some powerful force," commented Richard, to which, Sophia stepped away from Liu Wei and replied with a forced smile, "Nothing to do with us, atleast."
"Okay then, let's go."
Soon, they were back in the vehicle and traveled for another hour to reach the outskirts of the city, entering the underground mLiu Weiet.
However, just before they got down, he grabbed the half-elf arm and stopped her. "Wait."
"Hmm?" She turned toward him only to see a pair of earrings in his hands. They might look like normal gold earrings at one glance, but her expression changed as Richard went on to say, "A couple of weeks ago, I acquired this pair of earrings in an underground market by chance. When I gave it for appraisal, they said that some mystical runes were inscribed on it.
Today, I was made aware that this pair of earrings was more than a thousand years old and these mystical runes will help one create a barrier around them by absorbing the natural energy from the surroundings. It's of no use to me and I think it is best if you take it. Consider it as your belated birthday gift."
"Really?" Sophia was moved by his actions and gave him a hug and a kiss after putting the earrings right away, forgetting that there was a third person inside the car too.
Liu Wei opened the door and was about to step down before he saw this. He quickly stepped outside and slammed the door using a bit of force in frustration, startling them for a second.
After a while, the three of them started roaming across the streets with small roadside shops and stalls around. With Richard's help, Liu Wei purchased things that he needed atleast at a price 25-35% less than what others paid.
As jealous as he is, Liu Wei couldn't help but agree that this middle-aged fellow who stole his crush away had a good set of bargaining skills.
In just 90 minutes, he spent about hundred and fifty grand in total, paying everything through his credit card with the intention of appearing as a wealthy person before Richard.
With an over a million dollars limit, which he got from the Bank of Eldoria as a complement for putting his 10 million dollar inheritance as a fixed deposit, Liu Wei just continued to spend it.
Whether he wants to show off before Richard or his assistant, Liu Wei wasn't exactly sure. Before he realized it, he already walked one kilometer deep into the Liu Wei with atleast a couple of dozen transaction messages on his phone.
What made him more disappointed was the fact that neither of them haven't reacted to his purchases at all.
Richard wasn't interested in why Liu Wei bought a variety of things. And Sophia didn't scold him like she usually does when will he stop splurging so much on things like Ginseng roots or Blue Sage grass? She appeared to be more interested in conversing with Richard instead.
"I have money. I respect you. I'm young. I don't claim to be a handsome guy but atleast better than that old man. Then, why couldn't just choose me? Is it because I have never asked you out or is it because I'm only a Tier-3 Divinian? Or perhaps, it is because I cannot talk..." Liu Wei couldn't help but fall into depression while looking at the two of them chatting with all laughs.
He stopped walking and watched them disappear into the crowd before he turned around to change direction, going on a solo shopping spree.
Even after that, he still waited for Sophia to call him, but there wasn't any call or message for five minutes, and he grew angry. He lost his interest in the shopping and proceeded to return using the navigation app.
Forgetting that the navigation app showed the shortcut to his destination, he started walking in the direction of Gate-3, which is located on the opposite side of Gate-9 they had entered.
On the way, he spotted a bar and decided to drown himself in liquor, forgetting all the bad memories he had that day and celebrating on successful sale.
The next day morning;
"Graa…" Letting out a groan that sounded like the growl of a beast, Liu Wei slowly opened his eyes. Just as he was about to get up against the headboard, a hand fell on his face, hitting his nose.
Liu Wei was startled all of a sudden and turned his head aside. His facial expression changed as he saw a naked, amber-haired colored busty beauty sleeping beside him.
"Who… who the hell is she? What happened last night?" He tries to remember but finds it hard. There were only these fragments of memory. Seeing himself also naked, he was almost sure what could have happened after he got drunk.
While this wasn't the first time it had happened to him, he was a little bit terrified as he scanned her for her details.
