A small noodle shop on the street.
Li Zhifeng slurped down several mouthfuls of noodles, then picked up his bowl and gulped down the soup, smacking his lips and praising how authentic the noodles tasted.
"With my meager salary, I can't afford those places that cost three or four hundred per person," Lou Chenyu said, sitting next to Li Zhifeng and slowly picking at her noodles. "If I treated you to that, I'd have to eat dirt this month."
"Yeah, don't force it," Li Zhifeng quickly agreed, thinking, that's right, an assistant doesn't make much money. Oh, except for those assistants in their company.
It had been over a week since they last ate together, and today it was Lou Chenyu's turn to treat Li Zhifeng. After discussing it, they decided to have a simple lunch together during their weekday lunch break.
"Is it good?" Lou Chenyu asked, her beautiful eyes fixed on the man, a hint of a daze in them.
"Hehe, this is much better than that Western restaurant," Li Zhifeng said, wiping his mouth and complaining, "I should have ordered something else that day." As he spoke, he started to feel bad about the cost of that meal again.
Today, Lou Chenyu was dressed in casual sportswear. Her long, flowing hair was simply tied back in a high ponytail that swayed behind her. She had left her Vacheron Constantin, Hermès, and Chanel at home, wearing only a Tiffany necklace to subtly accentuate her fair, delicate neck.
Li Zhifeng glanced at her and pulled out his phone from his pocket. "Let me show you a photo."
"Who is this?" Lou Chenyu took the phone and looked at it. The photo showed a young girl who looked about ten years old. She had a delicate, oval face, big eyes, and her hair was dyed in various colors. It was styled in pigtails, and she wore a choker around her neck. She was making a peace sign and pouting her lips as she took a selfie. If she had to describe it, the overall impression was a combination of pure and rebellious, a non-mainstream, contrasting cuteness from the countryside?
"Well, she's… my assistant," Li Zhifeng cleared his throat and said, then lowered his head to continue drinking his noodle soup.
"Your assistant?" Lou Chenyu was a little surprised. "Aren't you just a regular employee? You're not a leader, so why do you need an assistant?"
