Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: So that’s a killer

"Excuse me sir, you caught me by mistake!" Iurma tries screaming at the winged thing. It didn't respond. "Are you okay? I don't mean to be quirkist, but your body looks really weird." Still no response. "Huh, you have a brain sticking out of your head. Do you have a brother? Because I think he hurt my sensei and tried to kill my friends a few weeks ago."

The creature still didn't say anything, so it was silent like its brother too. Probably only listened to Hand-man like the other one did. Was he taking him to Hand-Man? Wait, if he was related to the guy who hurt Sensei, then he couldn't talk to that guy because he spoke another language. In conclusion … "I need Koda." But how was he going to contact Koda? Oh right, phone.

He pulled it out, typing in the class call Momo put in. He still can't believe she got him something that cost so much money, he had to fight himself not to sell it on the daily. "I should get her something nice. She reads First Love Memories. Maybe I can ask if there's any volumes she's missing? Maybe I can get her a signed copy? The writers liked me enough when they weren't yelling at me for deadlines."

He was getting distracted. Koda first, then Rabbit-Sama so she didn't worry, then Momo to thank her properly. "Okay, I think that's...what the..no signal!? I'm high in the air! How do I get no signal this high up? Doesn't that make me closer to the wifi machine or something?" In that case, he needed to get lower. But he couldn't get lower unless the guy let him down, and he couldn't let him down without Koda. A conundrum.

"Maybe I can hurt him just a bit? Rabbit-sama says it's okay if I'm with her to use my quirk. And the brain guy at the USJ was pretty durable, this guy can take a small punch right?" Iruma took a breath, powering up with some sparks as he reared back his fist … and hit the beast in the stomach.

"GAH" Yay, he was free. Now he had to just worry about the fall. And luckily, he was quite trained up for that.

Iida ran and ran, looking upon every crevice he could find. With all this chaos the man was sure to show up, he had to, with all this heroism and distraction. The man that killed his brother! Such a lowlife would take advantage to kill whatever second rate pro got in his way, and Iida would use that to his own advantage.

It was getting difficult to not just patrol the city on his own to find him. Manul was suspicious enough of him and Hagakure was getting insufferable to handle her intrusion in his affairs. She should've stuck with what she knew best and invaded Suzuki's privacy.

"Shut up you fake!" The shout was heard, finally, something to move on. He ran and came across a fallen hero and the bastard. The one who paralysed his brother, the one who tarnished the legacy, the one who ruined their lives forever.

"STAIN!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, the villain turning to face him. "You shall pay for your actions tonight!" He charged right at him, preparing to kick him across the head just as he did with Suzuki.

The blade blocked his path. "I do not know what you seek to accomplish, but know I shall give you a single chance to run. I am not an immoral man, I don't just attack stupid children unless they give me no choice."

"Then I will give you no choice. You attacked Ingenium, you paralyzed my brother! He's never going to walk again, you fiend!" Idia pushed himself back up and charged again. "I won't rest until you know his pain tenfold!"

"Ingenium. I know that name." The man said, blocking another strike. "He was a fake, one who treated heroism like a family business. He deserved to die, but he did well enough that I spared him to spread my message." Iida's anger fueled even more. "Leave now before I leave him a dead brother as well."

"He was a noble hero! One that inspired many, one that has inspired me to take on his mantle! He's the best older brother I could ask for!" Iida readied his engines, wanting nothing more than to make this man's insides splatter against the walls of the alley. "I am Ingenium! And I will END you!"

"If you truly take that name." The villain curved his blade, cutting his calf. "Then I'll take your life." A lick on it caused the boy to fall to the ground. What was this, why couldn't he move!?"You are a pathetic hero." The man spoke, raising a hand. "Do you know why?"

"I am a hero, just like my brother!"

"Then why leave the man to die?" The maniac pointed to..what? A hero? "If you were truly noble, you would've come in and saved Native before attempting anything else. I see that vengeful look in your eyes." The glooming glare of the killer sent a shiver down his soul. "You're fueled by nothing but blood and spite. Unbefitting of a real hero." The words cut deeper than the man's blade ever could, regardless of his screams.

"You … bastard."

"I know I am, but you fakes refuse to admit it." The blade twisted as Iida clenched his teeth. "You lie and laze and seek tributes. You are not worthy." The vile man pulled the blade out. "Now to remove the stain you have inflicted upon this socie-"

Stain's voice was cut off by a thwack, nothing visible, Iida's unmoving body was dragged across the ground. How could.."Hagakure!"

"They're false heroes!" Stain shouted. "They seek glory, fame, revenge, like all the fakes!"

"But how does that make them fake?" Her soulmate asked with a tilted head. He looked like a puppy with that costume on … the fantasies.

"Their motivations are completely corrupt! They treat it like any normal job! It's sickening! A hero should never seek money, fame, status, never rest!"

"But that's stupid." The boy argued. "Heroism is just a job, what you're talking about is being a nice person."

"... Take that back. " Somehow the man emanated a bloodlust that could be felt for miles on end.

"Why would I? You don't have to be a 'hero' to do something good. Heroes just help people, that's all there is to it."

"Then that's all that should be expected of them!"

"But it's a job, you should get paid for a job."

"Heroism shouldn't be a job!"

"What about the police? They've been around before heroes, they get paid to do their jobs, which is to help people. Same with firefighters, military, hospital workers…"

"That is it, forget culling, everyone here dies tonight!" The man raised both his blades high, rushing at Suzuki.

"Don't let him cut you, his quirk freezes you in place!" Iida had the courtesy to yell.

"Don't worry, after Rabbit-sama's training…" Iruma-kun lit up in that beautiful coat of blue lightning and rushed forward. "No one's going to touch me again!" He dodged the blade and grabbed Stains arm, throwing him into a wall.

"You will be culled, along with the rest of these fake heroes!"

"They're not fake heroes, they're heroes in training!" Iruma-kun jumped at the man, throwing punches with blazing speed as they clashed, his clawed fingers and somewhat bulky looking gauntlets used as a way to deflect the blades.

"They are corrupted by this fake society! Saving people should not be about the money! Heroes need to be perfect symbols of peace!"

"Wait..you think everyone should be like Bunny-sensei? That's putting a lot of pressure on people."

"Who in the nine hells is Bunny-sensei!?"

"People call him All Might." The boy kicked the villain, sending him skitting.

"All Might … he is the only worthy hero." He spoke. "Any hero that can't live up to that should either retire or die."

"Then there would be no heroes left." Iruma-kun frowned. "You can't make people into something they're not, like how I can't make my parents actually care about me no matter how much money I give them."

"The world is corrupted, its heroes are getting worse and worse! The boy there came at me because I harmed his brother!" Stain shouted, trying to stab Iruma-kun once more.

"Wait, Iida? That's crazy, he's the role model of the class." Iruma-kun backed flipped over the villain. "He's the most responsible friend I have."

"No, he's right." Iida at least didn't try to hide. "He has to pay! I can't stop until he's dead.." His rant was cut off by Iruma-kun kicking him.

"Iida! Stop acting stupid! If you really thought through this, you would've rushed in and captured him before he could notice you! If you can be faster than my dodging, you could've avoided one crazy man with a long knife!"

"Iruma-kun, Iida wasn't trying to stop Stain and save Native." Who passed out. "He was trying to kill Stain for hurting his brother."

"That's even worse, you should have just brought us all. We're friends!"

"Are you admitting to chasing a villain for revenge!" Stain looked feral. "YOU SINNER!" Now the villain started to run while throwing knives, trying to create a corner to trap Iruma-kun in.

"There's a person or two who would disagree with you immensely on that front." A familiar neutral voice rushed in, and a pillar of fire knocked the knives and Stain away. "And between me and Shiozaki, I'm probably the safest option."

Todoroki, after ditching Endeavor to a Nomu (where the hell did that come from), strolled into the alley way, looking at the situation. "Iruma, we leave you alone for four days, and you're fighting a notoriously dangerous Hero Killer. How?"

"I didn't mean too! I got kidnapped by a brain-bird guy and I fell here after I punched him!" That made perfect sense to Todoroki, even if everyone else looked confused. "Now I have to fight a crazy man because Toru and Iida can't move." Toru was here, lovely, how could he avoid hitting THAT?

"Actually I'm getting back feeling in my limbs." Her voice called out. "He must run on some sort of time limit."

"Th..that shouldn't be po-possible." An injured man from a corner weakly spoke. Guess Stain was having a busy night. "She got cut last, and I'm still paralyzed."

"Of course." Iruma spoke, as if it all made sense. "His quirk is sexist." Well Hagakure was the only woman here.

"I somehow hate you even MORE, you absolute horrible human being!" Knives were flying once again.

"Hagakure." Todoroki spoke out. "I won't be able to avoid hitting you, Iida, and Native while teaming with Iruma against Stain."

"Don't worry, I can get them all to safety! You just hold him off for a second!" Iruma grabbed onto Hagakure and Iida, before lighting himself up in blue lightning and rushing them towards a nearby roof.

That, he could do. He focused on non solid flames he could aim in the air, pushing the man back farther. Once the distance was made, he began to freeze, creating a wall of ice. "That should hold." Instinct drilled into him caused the boy to look up, seeing the blade inches from his skin. He ignited, forcing the villain to leap off the ice.

"You're strong, but you ally yourself with heathens!" Did Shiozaki and him attend the same church?

"ROCKET MAN!" Iruma called out, making his way straight into Stain's path. "Let's try something even stronger!" A solid force of wind came into contact with the villain, causing him to crash into the ice as a crack was heard on Iruma's arm. Great, there went another bone. "Oh no, the gear!"

"Better than your bones at least." He didn't want another hand crushed thanks to him. "Why is it beeping?"

"Don't know, it's new to me." Iruma took the gauntlet off his hand. "But I do have an idea." Iruma tossed it right into Stains directions.

"You're little tricks won't do anything against…" The support item exploded in Stains face.

"Why were you carrying an explosive?" He asked. "Did Bakugo inspire you?"

"No, experimental equipment from Mei." Ah yes, advertisement woman.

"You all sicken me." The man spoke, facial bandage dropping to reveal-oh fuck. No nose. "You pathetic pieces of shit."

"Akaguro?" The boy asked, as if in recognition.

"What the..how do you…" The man asked, recognizing the name.

"We worked at the same retail store!" What the fuck? "Not many remember me, but I'm Suzuki. Some people also called me the quirkless helper from time to time…"

"Wait..I remember..you're that kid who always covered for my shifts!" What the fuck?! "How did you fall so far? From being such a kind hearted boy!?"

"Well I did fall from the sky …" That was more reasonable than ANYTHING he just heard!

"No, tell me! Tell me who put you on such a corrupted path!?"

"Bunny-sensei found me on a beach and begged me to put all his hopes and faith on me."

"All Might chose you … and you disappoint him like this! Advocating that heroism is something to gain from!?"

"Of course. I'm gonna be a hero for money so I can quit all my jobs. I never knew it could make so much!" Eh, nobody was perfect. He still was disappointed in All Might leaving his love child with such horrible parents.

"To think such a kind soul could fall so far! Now you only help people for money!" The man charged forwards, and Iruma ducked underneath him and kicked him right in the stomach.

"What..that's not why I help people."

"You just admitted to being a hero for money!"

"I don't need to be a hero to help people!"

He should probably step back in, Stain's noises were becoming inhuman.

These unworthy pieces of FILTH! He needed to cull and erase them from existence! Only the invisible one was worthy, the rest could die in a fire!! No, they should die in a fire!!! "Just die already!" If only he could get a hit in.

"Death is stupid, I'm don't want to die, so I won't." Such childish logic shouldn't be allowed to come to pass. "Like how killing people you don't like is stupid. It won't change anyone's mind. At least Tomura just had bad advice and realized he should think it over!"

"Comparing two villains in terms of sanity is NOT a good idea, Iruma-kun." The invisible girl called out.

"But he's being stupid! I don't get how he actually thinks he's helping anyone."

"Would you all just leave!" The false ingenium shouted, slowly getting up. Great, another bad piece of timing. "This is my burden … my weight."

"Toru, slap Iida for me as hard as you can!" The biggest fake called out.

"On it!" The girl didn't hesitate.

"Stop being stupid Iida! You're my friend! If you're having a hard time with something, I'll help you, even if you don't ask for it! That's why I asked Toru to be with you for the internships!" He was the one!?

"Iruma's right." The two temperature boy continued on. "We're classmates, 1-A, we should be able to trust one another. If you need a piece of revenge, I'll understand more than anyone!" Another large chunk of ice almost nicked him. This was much easier when it was just one.

"But-but my brother! He's still paralyzed..he's still…"

"Your brother is still alive, Iida!" The invisible girl yelled. "He's probably sleeping in the hospital now, waiting to wake up to see his little brother alive! Alive and carrying on his name! You can't do that if you throw away your life right now for one impulsive decision!"

"Ha...Toru...I'm...I'm sorry." The Ingenium-legacy huffed it, a little bit of tears running down his eyes. "I've...I've brought so much trouble to you all, but...but I promise to be better! I'll be a hero that makes the Ingenium name proud!"

No, no, NO! Don't you fucking dare claim yourself pure after all you've done! "People can't change like that!" Stain shouted, aiming his blade at the boy.

"Of course they can, people grow up." The fake called out. "I change every day! I learn how to survive, I get more muscles, I make friends!" The boy listed off. "The only one not changing is you!"

Something snapped inside of Stain. All rational thought replaced with pure drive to murder . "Iruma, I think you might have gone overboard." The temperature one spoke. He rushed at him with blades raised, jumping off the walls for confusion. The brat couldn't dodge what he couldn't anticipate.

"I believe I can help now!" The wannabe Ingenium shouted, preparing to run. "Todoroki, if you can use your ice on my legs without freezing the exha...SUZUKI WAIT!" He cried out to the fake, who was jumping off the walls in almost the exact same manner as he was.

"Rabbit-Moon kick!" The boy spun around, aiming a drop kick at him. Something he took advantage of, aiming his blade to finally nick the boy despite being struck in the chest. A HIT! Now he just needed to drink this blood and he was good to go.

"RECIPRIO EXTEND!" Another kick was felt across his stomach. How did he move so fast?

"INVISIBLE COMET!" And a swing to his back. He almost forgot the invisible girl in his rage.

"Heaven piercing ice!" Ice enveloped his legs after the two hits stunned him, preventing movement, leaving him open to ...

"RIGHT STRAIGHT PUNCH!" A hit to his face, where his nose once resided. His consciousness fated, regrets flooding on these charlatans becoming heroes.
