To many things has passed and things were now normal I was no longer been driven everywhere by both of them, my injury have healed and things were back to normal.
I was sitting on the balcony eating my sliced fruits and watching a kdrama when Jason approached me;
"Why are you like this?" he asked. I was surprised when I heard those words I wasn't shocked though because lots of people has asked me that question so I was used to the question itself.
"Where is this coming from," I asked while closing my tablet to listen to him.
"I don't___ know I just felt like I needed to ask because some times I feel pressured to do a lot of things like it's a must I do them and if I don't it's gonna go down real bad."
I have been to Jason's family house once, I went there with him and George.
One thing I was quick to notice was his clothing,his clothing style at his family home is very very different from the ones he wears to school and my instincts were telling me he is more comfortable with the clothes he has at his family house than the ones he wears to school.
Though I didn't expect him to talk to me about it, I just knew he was tired of pleasing some set of people. I noticed that, when he would just get angry at the slightest comment of compliments on his outfit, I also noticed that the compliments he gets angry at came from a specific set of persons.
"When you asked why I am like this what exactly did you mean." I had to know what he meant by that statement so I could begin my series of advice to him.
"I know that you are well aware that you're being isolated by almost everyone in our department. I also noticed that it's only Prim and two other girl that talk to you freely without backstabbing you or gossiping about you.
'I dont__know if they do but I think they don't backstab you or gossip about you like the others do. But the problem here is that you don't care, like at all you just don't care at all and it gaining on them, they keep trying thinking they will one day get you but they can't and although it's eating them they still continue and I have no idea why they still continue even when they know nothing will ever change."
Who are the two other girls he mentioned?« well they are Livia and Chopra, that are two of the three girls I talk to or rather am close to but the problem is I still don't trust them, I can't let my guard down, also change is constant so you never know when someone changes. Amongst the three I think it's Prim I trust to an extent.
Now how does he know all this« well Jason is a popular and rich guy so you can imagine the scenario. Let me help with the imagination, now picture yourself being rich with gossips that want something from you surrounding you, you'd be sure to hear and know everything they say alongside their every comments. When Jason was done pouring everything he bottled in,in his days of observation I asked him a question;
"Who and who do you consider your friends?" trust me while saying this I made sure to add an air quotation to let him know I was been sarcastic about the word friends.
" I don't__know George, you, I think Cassey, Sabra, Lilia, Alfredo, Avery and a few of their friends."
Immediately I heard the names he mentioned I realized he had no idea who his friends where and again I have proven that some people just don't know the difference between:
>>> I am your friend
>>>you are my friend
>>> we are friends
"To know your real friends you are going to make a huge change in your life, I paused to make sure my words were sinking in and when I realised they were I continued, 'and those changes would be your style of clothing you are going to change to your original style and not the ones some people want you to wear, Okay_y."
I was done advising and now it's up to him to adhere to the advise or die being a puppet to people that only care about his money and not him. Anyways our discussing was interrupted when George came to collect my fruit bowl thus I ended the discussion with my advise.
When i met the boys the next day Jason was different, he was wearing his original style not the ones been imposed in him to wear and am sure he had people staring and asking questions however that's up to him to answer and it has nothing to do with me.
I aided Jason now I have to aid George.
They were in my house that day when he entered my room, at the moment I was watching The Idol on my bed so I didn't notice his presence.
Ps. Jason and George are no longer visitors in my house thanks to my dad calling them his sons so what do you expect, they do what they like in my father's house without getting reprimanded for it and they come whenever they like and I go to theirs whenever I like too.
" Nairim I want to ask you somthing," he began after sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Oka___y"
"How can someone say no to something they don't want to do but have to do for several reasons."
"Mmmm does this have anything to do with your giving attitude."
"Yeah! Wait how did you_u know? "
Ever since I found out that George is a Libra I knew it would come naturally for him to give but again when he gives he always ended up grumbling and that's not good for someone who should give naturally. He ought to give with his heart and not grudgingly hence I knew the problem.
"That doesn't matter, I told him,
you need to learn how to say no..."
"No as in like N__O,"
"Yeah, 'NO' you need to learn how to say it. When someone pressures you to buy them something and you know you don't want to buy it say 'no' to the person. Those that like you for who you are will understand and those that like your money won't understand."
That's how to know fake friends.
Again I was done advising and the following weeks Jason and George both did as I told them. I could see how many people were staring at me because two popular, handsome and rich guys were hanging out with me and not them and I tell you this, many didn't like that.
Sometimes it's hard for them to keep up with the constant question from the ones that live fake lives that their means of survival were the boys.
Although they are sometimes pressured to go back to their previous ways, one thing is for sure they will always have me to remind them that this is this and that is that.
