After a few breaths, Kaito calmed down. He knew that the power he could rely on was no longer just the system. There was also the vast memory he had accumulated day and night in his previous life! Just throwing out a few concepts from his mind would be enough for him to become a world-renowned top doctor.
For such research talents, the treatment offered by various national forces was no less than that for special ability users, Elite Four-tier Trainers, and so on. Dr. Huizheng, who researched the communication devices, had become an international doctor, enjoying extremely high prestige.
"Since things have come to this, let's play a Pokémon Battle (Game) to calm down."
Kaito chose to play the game first. After realizing these critical things about his new world, he was in a very cheerful mood. After careful selection, Kaito finally decided to execute a Level One Brute Force Strategy (often called the Level 1 F.E.A.R. strategy). This playstyle had high limitations but, if executed successfully, could be very satisfying.
Magic City, Dragon Country
This was a city that never slept. A large amount of wealth was concentrated here, where even a single cabbage could sell for a high price. Many wealthy and high-status people lived here, and among them, the highest-status group was the Dragon-Riding Family: the Long Family!
Legend had it that the Long Family had controlled a Dragon Lair since their ancestors, where many Dragon-type Pokémon lived. Even every child could have a Dragon-type Pokémon.
In a high-end villa, a room was filled with various Dragon-type elements. The wallpaper was a cool Garchomp, and the stuffed animals on the bed were Dragonite and Salamence. The alarm clock on the table was shaped like a Goodra.
A girl, also eighteen years old, was lying on the bed, holding a tablet, and opened the Pokémon Battle (Game) to play. The girl had slender fingers, and her exposed skin was fair as jade; even a loose nightgown could not conceal her graceful figure underneath. She was an absolute beauty, yet a subtle heroic spirit showed in her brows, and she would reveal sharp eyes during battles—the result of being born into the Dragon-Riding Family and constantly battling and growing.
"Pokémon Battle (Game)? It is indeed a good game," Long Yuling murmured, lying entirely on the bed, her two fair, tender legs constantly lifting and falling behind her. "With this game, people will find it more convenient to conduct battles and gain experience more easily. It is said that some regions have already started using it in schools for classes."
According to her preferences, she selected six Pokémon: Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp... all high-level Dragon-type Pokémon.
Start the battle!
After a few seconds of matching, Long Yuling saw her opponent. Her delicate brows furrowed slightly. "i am not a master?" She muttered, confused. "Why is this person bringing out a Level One Aron? Isn't this just giving away the win directly?" She disliked people who didn't take Pokémon battles seriously.
"Oh, they're all famous Dragon-type Pokémon," Kaito noted, reviewing his opponent's lineup. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, Dragonite, Garchomp... truly handsome." He sighed helplessly. "Probably a child from a poor family, too eager for Dragon-type Pokémon."
Who would assemble such a team for a normal battle? Kaito thought. Dragon-type Pokémon were a luxury for ordinary people; at most, they might use some powerful Gyarados as a substitute. But in player-versus-player battles, a pure offense team like this was practically a surrender. Forget about defensive or offensive teams; at least set up a weather team, like a Rain or Sun team, right? This team was only good for fighting NPCs.
He glanced at the opponent's name: Long Yuling. Kaito raised an eyebrow, exclaiming: "That's what happens when you're famous; people even take your name in games first."
He didn't think this player named Long Yuling was the same favored daughter of heaven from the headlines. Reason one: Who uses their real name to play games? Reason two: Which favored daughter of heaven would battle with such an easily exploitable lineup?
"Then it's a pity; your Dragon-type dream can only go this far." Kaito chuckled, then began to operate.
The opposing Dragonite first used the Extreme Speed move, directly attacking the Level One Aron. The little Aron's HP was reduced to one point. This was thanks to the Ability: Sturdy, which guarantees survival with one HP if the Pokémon is at full HP when hit by a powerful attack.
Kaito had Aron use the move Endeavor. This move's effect is to reduce the opponent's HP to match the user's HP. Dragonite's HP rapidly decreased, finally leaving it with only one HP.
"Endeavor?!" Long Yuling's beautiful eyes flashed with surprise. She had completely forgotten about the existence of that status move.
I see, she realized. Aron's Sturdy Ability allows it to survive with one HP, then it uses Endeavor. Choosing a Level One Aron is also for this reason, to maximize the trigger of the Sturdy Ability. Long Yuling wasn't stupid; with a little thought, she understood the intention behind this strategy. She had to admit, she admired the person who came up with this tactic. Through this method, no matter how strong the enemy, a Level One Pokémon could reduce their HP to one.
"Phew~" she said, attempting to regain control. "Too bad, even if all six of your Pokémon are Level One Arons, it's useless. I just need one more Extreme Speed and it'll be defeated." Long Yuling's lips curled into a slight, confident smile.
The next moment, her smile froze on her face.
She saw the opponent's Aron suddenly recover its HP, going straight back to full!
Item: Shell Bell! This was an item Kaito had noticed was still in the game. The Shell Bell recovers a portion of the damage dealt after an attack. In the game, Wende Company had simplified its effect to recover one-eighth of the damage dealt as HP. Since Aron had dealt a massive amount of "damage" (the HP reduction from Endeavor), it instantly healed back to full HP.
After a brief moment of stunned silence, Long Yuling gritted her teeth. Connecting each step, she finally realized the terrifying nature of this tactic!
"No, there's still a solution," she desperately rationalized. "As long as I use an entry hazard move like Stealth Rock, I can nullify the Sturdy Ability when it switches in. Or if I use multi-hit skills, this tactic still won't work."
"But…" Long Yuling abruptly paused, her expression darkening. She had brought a team of powerful Dragon-type Pokémon. Their skills were either boosting moves like Dragon Dance and Swords Dance, or powerful attacks like Dragon Claw and Dragon Pulse.
She had no entry hazards. She had no multi-hit moves.
"It's over…"
