Swing!!
Swing!!
"Huff...huff...huff"
Ryu breathe heavily as he swung his sword again and again. The shining sword sliced through the air making the whistle sound each time he slash at the wooden dummy in front of him.
Sweat trickled from his head.
Its been a two days since he reincaarnated in this world, and the bomb shell of a letter fell on to him. But rather than a panic Ryu saw it as a opportunity. In this world where strong prey on weak, so the best course of action to learn about the power path and the resources needed would be in the largest academy of the human domain.
"Haaah!"
He exhaled sharply and delivered one last clean strike. The dummy broke into two and fell off on the grpund
Ryu satred at the sliced dummy and let out a slight smile.
"Hm. I've gotten better," he muttered, lowering his sword.
After thee evolution of the basic swordmanship inti intermediates, the actual stance, got more perfected, with more efficient moves wasting less energy.
"That should be enough for today." he said whille sheathing his sword.
As he watched the fallen dummy, which layed motionless a thought flashed in his mind
'Training on a dummy can only get me so far… If I want real improvement, I'll need to face real danger.'
His silver eyes sharpened and gazed towrd the distant direst.
"The Mistborn Forest…" he whispered.
"There are still five days before the academy starts, so I should be prepared," Ryu said to himself, wiping the sweat off his face.
From what he knew, the World Academy wasn't just a place for learning — it was a den full of monsters wearing the faces of geniuses. The future heroes, heroines, and even villain all came from there. It was a place where future legendary came from....and extra like him were often become aa stepping stone for others
Shaking his head, Ryu started walking home. The faint smell of food aroma drifted through the air as he he opened the door.
Inside, the warm glow of the dining room greeted him. His mother stood near the srtove, humming softly as she stirred a pot, while his little sister, Lia, sat at the table swinging her legs. His father was already seated, reading something with a calm expression.
When dinner was finally served, all three sat down together. The sound of plates clinking and Lia's cheerful chatter filled the room.
Ryu placed his spoon down and cleared his throat.
"Father, Mother."
His mother turned toward him, tilting her head with a gentle smile. "Hmm? Yes, dear?"
His father, however, just sighed softly, already guessing where this conversation will go.
Ryu took a deep breath. "As you know, I got accepted into the academy. So, I have to hone my skills. Tomorrow… I'm going to the Mistborn Forest."
For a second, there was silence. Then—
"Hmm… Mistborn Forest… WHAT?!" His mother's voice shot up like lightning. "WHY DO YOU WANT TO GO THERE?!"
Her hands slammed on the table, eyes wide with panic. "That forest is dangerous! You just woke up from your injury, Ryu! Do you have any idea what kind of beasts live there?"
Lia froze mid-bite, looking between her mother and brother with wide eyes.
Ryu, on the other hand, stayed calm. "Mother, please… I'll be careful. I'm not planning to go deep inside, just near the outskirts. I need real combat experience before entering the academy."
His mother frowned, clearly not want him to go. "No. I can't allow it. You're still recovering—"
"Mom," Ryu interrupted gently, his voice firm but soft. "You've seen how hard I've been training these past two days. If I go there now, I'll gain experience that might save my life later. And...and I want to grow stronger."
His father, who had been silent until now, gave a small chuckle. "Told you he wouldd say that," he said with a knowing smile.
Ryu's mother shot him a glare. "Don't you dare encourage him!"
His father raised his hands in surrender. "Hey, I'm not. But he's right. The world won't go easy on him just because we worry."
Ryu looked at his mother with a determined gaze. "I'll be fine, Mom. I promise."
She stared at him for a long moment, her expression softening little by little. Finally, with a sigh, she lowered her head. She knows whatever she do, her dear son would not listen.
"If you get injured this time, no one would be baad thaan me. Understood?"
Ryu swallowed dryly and said. "Understood."
Lia puffed her cheeks. "Brother, you better bring me something cool from the forest!"
Ryu chuckled, patting her head. "Deal."
His mother shook her head helplessly. "Just… be safe, Ryu."
"I will," he said, looking at them — a warmth flickering in his chest.
After the dinner, the next day.
Ryu already in his training clothe, a sword by his side and a bag where his ssupplies ae there.
As he exit the home.
"Ahhh...EEEK"
"Are you going without telling your mother huh."
Ryu turned his head, while his ear beeing pulled by his mother. He wanted to exite it quitely without waking her mom, as he knew she would be worried. But he was caught before he can live.
"No mom, I was going to come to you."
He ssaid nervously.
"Humph!!"
"Take care, and be careful."
"Yes mom."
Saying his goodbye, he went to the direction of the forest. As he walk while viewing the outside world Ryu find it some novelty. Though the world is same as his previuous one, there is a touch of mysteriousness.
After walking for few hours the house, he finally reached the the forest border.
Before entering he sprayed himself with a repellent spray, an item to which makes difficult for beast to detect him.
"Hmm?"
Standing before the foressr Ryi instantly guessed wwhy it was called Mistborn city.
"It seems the mist get ddtronger as ypu go deeper into the forest."
Thatss one of the reason which made people stay from this location. And another thee all time misst which obstruct people eyes
Unlesss you are an higher ranked aawakened, or an good scout, it would be difficult to exit.
Prompting him to roam outside the outersskirt of the village
Izz...izz
As he started walking inside, Ryu heard a faint rustling sound.
Ryu unsheath his sword with determined expresssion.
