Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Gin's Deduction

A ball of fire erupted, followed by a thunderous roar that rose to the sky.

Heiji was a bit stunned. There was no explosion in his plan. Evidently, Pisco's car must have contained flammable and explosive materials, and the violent collision caused them to detonate.

Everyone nearby was startled and rushed over. Flames burned intensely, emitting thick black smoke. The person in the car could not have survived, but the truck driver appeared to be alive.

"Quick, save the people!"

They were all experienced workers, and as soon as the shock wave of the explosion passed, they hurried to get the man out of the truck.

Heiji put on his cap and looked towards the mirror on the rooftop of the building; there was nothing there anymore.

"Next, today's top story: in a new development area of Nagoya, the famous businessman and president of a car company, Mr. Kenzo Masuyama, suffered a traffic accident this morning at ten-something, dying on the spot. The perpetrator of the accident, Saburo Ninkyo, was found to have alcohol in his blood. According to the police investigation at the scene, it was a traffic accident…"

Heiji's family was eating.

"Kenzo Masuyama?" Heizo Hattori frowned.

"Father, do you know this person?" asked Heiji.

"This person's identity and background are largely unknown in the Metropolitan Police files. The origins of his company seem to have come out of nowhere, but since he hasn't exhibited any suspicious behavior over the years, the police stopped investigating him."

Heiji felt a twinge of suspicion; it seemed Kenzo Masuyama had been under suspicion for quite some time.

"Eat, no talking allowed." Shizuka Hattori glared at father and son.

"Heiji, this dish from auntie is delicious, try it." Kazuha diligently served Heiji, her eyes full of expectation.

Heizo Hattori and Shizuka Hattori looked at each other and smiled.

In the room, the atmosphere was intimate, creating an air of mystery and suggestion.

The night was deep and silent. Kazuha, exhausted, slept soundly in Heiji's arms.

"Congratulations to the host for completing the C-class special mission. It has been determined that the death of the Black Organization member, Pisco, was accidental. Next, please, choose a number."

A large virtual disk appeared before his eyes, with the nine familiar numbers.

Heiji did not rush to choose a number: "System, show me my status."

Soon, the panel appeared.

Sin Value: -99384

After completing the A-class mission and successfully snatching the Dark Star from Kid, he had already obtained 500 sin points, so the panel, naturally, would change.

Heiji finally breathed a full sigh of relief, having distanced himself from that dangerous situation.

"Please, host, perform the draw as soon as possible." The system's voice was still relentless.

"Well, 2 then."

The number "2" lit up, a flash of light shone, and an object appeared out of nowhere, falling onto the sheet.

"Congratulations to the host for obtaining a Hundred Changes Human Skin Mask."

[Hundred Changes Human Skin Mask?]

Heiji quickly opened the instructions.

Object: Hundred Changes Human Skin Mask (Permanent Item)

Effect: Whoever puts on the Hundred Changes Human Skin Mask will completely change their appearance, no technology will be able to discern its authenticity, without any flaws.

Disadvantage: It can only be used by the host and one person designated by him.

Heiji frowned. After reading the description of the human skin mask, the first name that came to mind was Akemi Miyano. For the moment, she was the one who needed this mask the most.

"Good thing I can also use the mask."

If he could only designate one person, Heiji would definitely use it himself, but fortunately, besides him, he could designate another person, which was perfect.

"Tonight I will have a good dream."

The night was silent in the development area of Nagoya.

At the scene of Pisco's accident, a Porsche was parked, and two shadows moved through the area, inspecting.

"Big brother, there's no trace, Pisco's death should be accidental," Vodka said in a low voice.

"This intersection is not a place with limited visibility. I've seen the drunk driving report of the guilty driver, he was far from drunk. Pisco's death is very strange," Gin said coldly, looking around.

"Does big brother suspect that someone killed Pisco?" Vodka was suddenly surprised: "Has Pisco been discovered?"

"Idiot, if Pisco had been discovered, do you think the BOSS wouldn't know? There's still no news, it was either his enemies, or it was really an accident." A cold glint flashed in Gin's eyes.

"But big brother, the police have taken everything from here, even if we want to investigate, we won't find any clues anymore," Vodka said, looking around indifferently.

Gin did not speak, his eyes emitted a cold light and he said in a glacial voice: "If he was murdered, no matter how accidental it seems, it will leave traces. Judging by the ground, there are no braking marks, which shows that the truck had no intention of slowing down. And judging by the results of the drunk driving report, the truck driver had not lost consciousness."

"Big brother, are you saying the truck driver is the murderer?" Vodka's intelligence activated.

"He is not the murderer, his background is very common."

Gin raised his head and examined the surroundings, his gaze as sharp as a hawk's.

"Big brother, was Pisco murdered or was it an accident?" Vodka was somewhat confused.

"Vodka, light up that window."

"That one?"

Vodka pointed the flashlight at the window that Heiji had previously adjusted, and a beam of light was immediately reflected.

A flash of insight shone in Gin's eyes.

"Vodka, go to that building and, from there, simulate the angle of the sunlight at ten o'clock and light up that window."

"Yes, big brother."

Shortly after, Vodka went up to the building and illuminated the window with a powerful light.

Suddenly, a beam of light was refracted directly onto the road the truck was coming from.

The piercing light in Gin's eyes slowly dissipated, and then he put his hands in his coat pockets: "Vodka, come down now."

The Porsche started with a roar and drove away from the place.

"Inform Vermouth, tell her to tell the BOSS that Pisco's death was an accident, he has not been discovered," Gin said coldly.

"Big brother, wasn't Pisco murdered?" asked Vodka curiously.

"The truck driver was simply dazzled by the light by chance, Pisco had bad luck."

Gin stepped on the accelerator hard, and the car left a shadow on the road, speeding into the distance.

Time flew by. The following month was very pleasant for Heiji. Occasionally he solved a case; other times, he strolled with Kazuha through Osaka, relaxed and carefree.

However, in the darkness, a commotion was brewing…
