Chapter 20 - Chapter: Consequences

Chapter: Consequences

Snow City, in a large luxurious mansion.

Over a dozen corpses lay in a row. The ground was stained with blood.

A short, portly merchant stood beside them, his round face dark as storm clouds. The fat on his face trembled with rage.

This merchant was Master Dewitt—the one who'd been bidding against Cheng Yu for Ivennie.

After Cheng Yu won the bid for Ivennie, Dewitt had planned to send people to snatch her back and obtain her without spending a penny.

Unexpectedly, he'd underestimated Cheng Yu's fighting power. All the men he'd sent had been killed by Cheng Yu.

Most importantly, the first-tier mage had been his nephew—and he'd also been killed by Cheng Yu.

"Damn it!"

Clenching his fists, Dewitt cursed viciously. If he could, he wanted to cut Cheng Yu into a thousand pieces.

"Master Dewitt, judging from the direction the man's carriage took, he should be heading to Bailu Town. He may be in Bailu Town and hasn't gone far."

The butler beside him reminded him.

"You—send someone to Bailu Town to investigate immediately. If that bastard really is in Bailu Town, our Harold family will eliminate this scourge even if we have to flatten Bailu Town."

"Yes, Master Dewitt."

The Harold family was one of the largest families in Snow City. They wielded considerable influence in the area around Snow City and had many servants at their disposal.

Back at the manor, Cheng Yu made sliced meat soup, twice-cooked pork, tomato scrambled eggs, and garlic pork—three dishes and one soup.

For five people, Cheng Yu made generous portions—a large pot of each dish.

Maxi, as round as a pig, picked up a fork and tasted the garlic pork. The sour taste of vinegar, the savory flavor of soy sauce, and the pungency of garlic—the three flavors mixed together gave his taste buds an extreme experience.

Thinking about the meat dishes prepared by the court chefs—either grilled or boiled, monotonous in taste—there had never been such an ingenious method as Cheng Yu's.

"It's so delicious!"

Maxi exclaimed, trembling all over. His soft fat rippled with waves.

He tasted the plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes next.

The tangy taste of tomatoes and the rich aroma of eggs blended perfectly, forming a delicious flavor he'd never tasted before.

"Tomatoes and eggs mixed together can actually produce such a wonderful taste. I really admire your imagination," Maxi marveled.

The Celsis Continent had both tomatoes and eggs, but no one had ever thought to fry them together into a dish.

"Eat more if you like it."

Cheng Yu activated pig-raising mode. If he didn't fatten Maxi up to 300 kilograms, he'd be sorry for the massive sum of 100 gold coins Maxi had paid.

"Then I won't hold back."

Maxi didn't know about Cheng Yu's evil plan. He smiled, abandoned court etiquette, picked up his knife and fork, and wolfed down the meat.

Mina loved the garlic pork most and went wild on the pot of it.

The fatty and lean garlic pork pieces were tossed into her mouth one after another. She chewed happily.

Cheng Yu looked at Maxi's fat, bloated figure, then at Mina's slender form. "Mina, you eat so much. Aren't you afraid of getting fat?"

Mina's appetite was three times that of a normal person. Logically, she should've grown into a heavy woman, but in reality, she was tall and slender without any excess fat.

"We Silver Wolf warriors exercise a lot. We won't get fat no matter how much we eat," Mina explained.

Cheng Yu thought about it. Mina's daily exercise volume really was much greater than Maxi's. Every day, she was either practicing sword swings or working in the fields.

Heavy exercise burned all the fat.

Compared to garlic pork, Ivennie preferred the sweet, sour, and savory taste of scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

A piece of scrambled egg soaked in tomato juice was placed in her mouth and chewed gently. Ivennie's eyes lit up with a blissful expression. She felt her taste buds had been sublimated.

She used to live in the slave trader's dungeon, where she could only eat dry bread and water every day.

The food here is so delicious. Thank you, Master Cheng Yu.

Cheng Yu gained 34 positive emotion points from the four of them. Combined with the original 92 points, he now had 126 positive emotion points.

After lunch, Maxi followed Austin to the nearby woods to practice magic.

Cheng Yu made buns for the Northern Fortress cavalry as usual.

Selling buns wasn't just about making money—it was also about gaining positive emotion points from the cavalry.

After frying the fillings and preparing the dough, Cheng Yu, Mina, and Ivennie sat at the long table in the manor's living room to make buns.

Ivennie didn't know how to make buns, so she asked, "Master Cheng Yu, how do you make buns?"

"First, take a piece of dough, flatten it into a circle, and wrap the filling inside."

Cheng Yu taught Ivennie how to make buns step by step.

"Oh, okay."

Making buns wasn't difficult. Ivennie learned after watching once and helped Cheng Yu make them.

At that moment, Mina sat next to Cheng Yu, her head resting on his shoulder, her nose close to him as she sniffed. Her large, fluffy tail swung left and right, sweeping back and forth behind Cheng Yu. Her arm touched his body intentionally or unintentionally.

"Mina, what are you doing?"

Cheng Yu felt Mina's behavior was a bit like a pervert in a movie. He could feel the softness and warmth of her skin through the thin dress.

"I think... forget it... nothing."

Mina wanted to say something but held back.

Seeing Mina's shy, coy demeanor, Cheng Yu felt something was off. He asked, "By the way, Mina, how old are you this year?"

"Nineteen."

Mina looked up at Cheng Yu, her red eyes sparkling—beautiful as rubies.

Cheng Yu thought back to the introduction of the Silver Wolf Clan in The Encyclopedia of Plants and Animals of the Celsis Continent.

The Silver Wolf Clan became adults at eighteen, and the year after adulthood, they entered their mating season and began to reproduce.

This girl sticks with me every day. Is she in her mating season? Cheng Yu guessed.

However, Cheng Yu wasn't worried.

Mating season? Wasn't that even better?

He didn't mind contributing to the population growth of the Celsis Continent.

After a while, Mina had inhaled a lot of Cheng Yu's masculine scent. The flame of desire in her heart grew more and more intense. She couldn't hold back. She leaned close to Cheng Yu's ear and whispered, "That... Ch... Cheng Yu, can I come to your room tonight?"

"Of course."

Cheng Yu was ecstatic. Now he could be certain Mina really had entered her mating season.

"I'll come find you tomorrow night."

Mina could barely hold on now, but she probably couldn't hold on past tomorrow night.

"No problem. You can come to me anytime," Cheng Yu smiled.

As a qualified owner, it was his responsibility and obligation to help his wolf-eared girl solve her physiological problems.

The three of them made buns faster than before.

Eight hundred buns used to take Cheng Yu and Mina four or five hours to make. Now they finished in just over three hours.

Heading to the kitchen, Cheng Yu placed the eight hundred buns into four ten-tier large steamers and set them up.

He'd just get up and steam them tomorrow morning.
