It would seem there is more to the gold coins than meets the eye.
There are just a few ways to earn gold coins in the apocalypse.
One was by killing zombies, which was the most common, as far as he remembers.
Second was by getting achievements issued by the system, which grants both gold coins, and sometimes resources.
The third was by ranking among the top on the leaderboards at different categories or locations at the end of every month.
Then there was the most Infamous mode of getting coins, that would become known, soon enough.
Killing other integrated.
When you kill another integrated, unlike zombies from which you only get a fixed amount of coins, when you kill other integrated, awakened or not, you get all the coins they posses at that moment in their status window.
Caspian isn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, as he immediately readjusted his thoughts and saved analysing the nature of gold coins for the future Caspian.
He did a quick calculation and concluded that he only needed to kill 260 zombies more, to have a enough gold coins to level up his talent.
Caspian had been prepared to hunt down 100,000 zombies steadily, over a period of time, going out to hunt, and coming back to the safety of his apartment, but at this point, the entire planned hunt would only need a day.
Pumped up, and ready to get to it, Caspian restarted his truck and began to slowly back away to the garage exist, when he received yet another notification.

Caspian hit the brakes of the truck hard as he read through the notifications, and a resigned chuckle came out his mouth as he flipped his head upward, staring at the roof of his truck before he began laughing hysterically_

He repeatedly hit his hand on the staring wheel as he continued laughing loudly_

His laughter was manic and uncontrolled, hard to tell if he was laughing out of joy or frustration, but almost as quickly as he had started laughing, he stopped immediately as his face once again became blank and unreadable.
He sat inside the truck, unmoving, screams of people and grrowls of zombies, explosions and gunfire were raining right outside, but still, he sat there.
Caspian had killed that exact zombie in his previous life but didn't earn an achievement.
Only explanation was the speed at which he executed the kill this time, was just minutely ahead of the person who actually got this achievement in his previous life.
Caspian began to wonder, he had stuck up on thousands of slug rounds and bought four shutguns, he also worked out for a full month straight, all to squickly gather enough gold coins to level up his talent.
Caspian called up his status window once again, and he fixed his gaze to the lowest left Conner.
