She threw her head backwards, her skin turned deathly pale, black inchor streamed down her eyes and mouth as she suddenly lept over the news table and into the camera crew.
Chaos quickly erupted as the service was cut off, with a technical issues message on screen.
Caspian steadily got off the couch, grabbed his shutgun, and swung his backpack over his shoulder.
He walked over to the bedroom door , aimed the shutgun at the entrance as he slowly pulled the door open.
Still lying on the bed, sound asleep was Catherine, as she shifted in the sheets, making cute noise.
Caspian lowered the shutgun and heaved a relieved sigh, as he gently closed back the door and this time, he didn't lock it.
He got out of the apartment, locked the main entrance, and made his way down the elevator to the garage.
Stepping into the garage, a scene flashed before his eyes from his previous life, a scene he had tried to forget, but the location and situation brought it all back.
Emma, calling to him from her truck while he was on his way to save Elizabeth, and her dying in the most gruesome way possible because he was incompetent.
Caspian quickly pushed through those emotions, as he made his way over to his packed toyota Hilux.
He heaved the backpack onto the front passenger seat and he got into the drivers side, and just when he was about to turn the keys, he head a growling sound, rapidly getting closer from behind.

It was a zombie, this zombie had on a security staff uniform, with jarring features, but Caspian recognized this zombie immediately, even if it's been so long.
This was the very first zombie he encountered in his previous life, and the very zombie who mutilated Emma.
Caspian steadily exited his truck as he observed the galloping zombie heading towards him with little regard.
Any normal person, presented with this same situation, will be shitting their pants and running around, screaming for help, but Caspian had lived through two entire years in the apocalypse and dealt with all kinds of zombies.
