After two days, Jungtae turned nineteen. November 23.
The morning passed quietly, just him and his mother moving around the house, changing the curtains, tidying the living room, pretending it was just another day even though Jungtae's heart kept fluttering with expectation.
Mrs. Han hummed while preparing ingredients in the kitchen, occasionally glancing at her son with a fond smile.
"I'll cook your favs."
"Yey! Thanks mom."
Then came a knock at the door.
Jungtae froze for half a second before walking over. When he opened it, Owen stood there, a grin tugging at his lips, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers. It had soft pastels mixed with white, carefully arranged.
"Happy birthday," Owen said, smiling.
Jungtae's face flushed instantly. "You didn't have to-"
Mrs. Han appeared behind him and gasped. "Oh my, those are beautiful!"
Owen bowed slightly. "Happy birthday to Jungtae, Mrs. Han."
