The Modern World, the United States.
Chen Feng emerged from the scroll, appearing in an abandoned warehouse. Folding the scroll hanging on the wall, Chen Feng called the emergency number.
He had a tourist visa, so his identity was fine, and the American hospital wouldn't be able to find anything.
He needed to see a hospital to check his condition.
About an hour later, an ambulance, its lights flashing, arrived near the warehouse.
Chen Feng approached the ambulance, and upon seeing him, several nurses were surprised.
"You called the emergency number?" The blonde nurse frowned.
Chen Feng didn't look like he was seriously ill enough to warrant an emergency call.
"Yes, it's me. I have broken ribs. Take me to the hospital right away."
Chen Feng's startling statement startled the two nurses.
"What! Broken ribs?"
No matter how you looked at Chen Feng, he didn't look like he had broken ribs.
How could someone with broken ribs stand there and talk so calmly?
"Can you stop asking questions? Take me to the hospital first."
The two nurses didn't dare delay and quickly helped Chen Feng into the car. The car quickly drove towards the hospital.
"Why are you in such a remote place? How did you break your ribs?"
A doctor in the car undressed Chen Feng and examined him. Chen Feng had handed all his equipment to Wang Hu. He now only had a suitcase, which contained his clothes, the scroll, and the jade pendant.
Chen Feng was very cautious, considering the pat-down search might reveal the weapons.
"I accidentally fell."
The doctor was clearly unconvinced by Chen Feng's answer, as the area below his chest was practically sunken.
What kind of fall could cause such a serious injury?
It was clearly a serious impact.
"There's a risk of internal bleeding. We need a CT scan. Doesn't it hurt?" The doctor looked at Chen Feng in surprise.
Chen Feng's ribs were indeed broken, and more than one. But Chen Feng didn't show any sign of pain.
Instead, he looked relaxed.
The nurses in the car also looked at Chen Feng with curiosity.
"It hurts, but i can get through it." Chen Feng wasn't in much pain, and he felt much better after taking the pills.
The doctors and nurses all looked at Chen Feng with strange eyes.
...
The ambulance quickly took Chen Feng to the hospital.
After the CT scan, the thoracic surgeon who diagnosed Chen Feng was stunned.
"Oh my God! Are you a monster?"
In the emergency room, the attending physician stared at the CT scan in disbelief.
The other doctors also gathered around to examine it, and everyone gasped. The CT scan showed that Chen Feng had three broken ribs.
They were broken into several pieces. A normal person would have been rushed to the ICU with internal bleeding by now.
But after examination, they found that Chen Feng had no symptoms of internal bleeding.
What's more, the CT scan showed that Chen Feng's broken ribs had connected together, and regenerated tissue had appeared.
If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, the doctors would have been incredulous.
Chen Feng breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the CT scan.
It seemed the Xiantian master's healing elixir was incredibly powerful, capable of rapidly regenerating broken bones.
"I should be alright," Chen Feng asked.
The stunned doctor immediately said, "At this rate of regeneration, we won't need surgery. Sir, a medical miracle has occurred!"
The doctor looked at Chen Feng with excitement, as did the other doctors. They were eager to understand why Chen Feng's body had undergone such a transformation.
Several ribs were clearly broken, yet he acted like nothing had happened, seemingly repairing them on his own.
Is this still a human physique?
"It's fine, then I'll leave." Knowing he was fine, Chen Feng got out of bed and prepared to leave.
Just then, the attending doctor stopped him, "Sir, could you give me some of your blood so we can run some tests?" The doctor looked at him eagerly.
A chill suddenly ran down Chen Feng's spine.
It reminded him of those secret experiments abroad, where even Einstein's brain was sliced after his death. One could only imagine the madness of these crazy researchers abroad.
"I'm busy!"
With that, Chen Feng hurried away.
He wouldn't give his blood to them; who knew what they might discover?
Several doctors tried to persuade Chen Feng to stay, but he ignored them. Instead, he left the hospital and boarded the nearest flight back to Longguo.
Longguo, a mountain city.
After an overnight flight, Chen Feng finally returned to his homeland. Only then did he feel at ease.
Having been targeted by those doctors, Chen Feng feared being stopped on the plane.
He took a taxi to the Xingfeng Mining factory. The factory had completely changed.
A new sentry box had been erected at the entrance, manned by two soldiers.
Barbed wire had been erected around the entire factory, creating the illusion of a heavily fortified military zone.
Upon seeing Chen Feng, the two soldiers saluted.
"Hello, Professor Chen," they greeted.
Chen Feng, however, was bewildered. "Professor?" When had he become a professor? Seeing Chen Feng's confusion, one of the soldiers spoke up,
"Professor Chen, you are now a registered professor at the Longke Academy. The relevant documents have been delivered."
Upon hearing this, Chen Feng immediately realized that this was probably a title bestowed by the government.
Generally, once your social status rises, you don't need to promote yourself; others will.
After a brief conversation with the two soldiers, Chen Feng entered the factory.
The factory was still on holiday; the workers had already gone on vacation.
Arriving at the factory office, Chen Feng immediately spotted Li Xiaorou, writing something.
Today, Li Xiaorou was wearing a white dress, no longer a work outfit.
Li Xiaorou's appearance was acceptable. Chen Feng chose his secretaries based on ability first, then appearance.
If they weren't good-looking, he wouldn't be comfortable looking at them.
Li Xiaorou, buried in her writing, seemed to sense something. She looked up and saw Chen Feng and immediately stood up.
"Boss, you're back from abroad. Is everything going well?" Li Xiaorou smiled.
Chen Feng nodded. "Pretty much. What are you working on?"
"Here's the production and development plan for the factory. I'm going to write one for you."
"We've got a lot of orders from the government right now, so we need to arrange for hiring and expanding the factory."
Seeing Li Xiaorou's serious attitude, Chen Feng nodded with satisfaction.
"Well, you're doing well."
Power wasn't something Chen Feng cared about. If he had to do everything himself for Xingfengmen and Xingfeng Mining, he'd be incredibly busy.
Sometimes you have to find someone to help you, and someone like Li Xiaorou fit the bill. Having just graduated from college, she was full of enthusiasm.
She didn't have the old-school mentality and worked incredibly hard.
For this kind of employee, it is better to praise her more than to pay her money, which will make her work harder.
