Chapter 9 - First Pot of Gold

After entering a certain website, Beeti picked and choose for a while before deciding on two snacks.

Right!

Beeti has thought of going along with her family's profession from past life, fastfood shop.

It's not that she has any golden fingers like those from transmigration or rebirth troops. And she doesn't want to risk big by making different path for her family. It's best to remain the same, at least she knows they have some points in this area, able to manoeuvre the future business without problems.

The snacks were banana pancake and pastry.

Yes! She has been planning on using Western snacks for the start, as they are still a novelty during 2000s.

After noting down the two recipes, Beeti was about to close the system after exiting the website when suddenly a flash of inspiration came and her eyes brightened like twinkling stars.

After half an hour later, Beeti went back to the classroom and continued with her studies. The teachers thought she were merely playing games.

That day after reaching home, Beeti presented the two recipes to her family.

"But we are already content with our current life. Is there really any need to add anything else to do?" said Mrs. Das.

"Right, granddaughter you are worrying too much for your age. Just focus on playing and enjoying your childhood and leave the rest to your family." said Old Mrs. Das, while gently patting Beeti's back.

After being back for few years, though small actions from Beeti, the family can see that she is quite different from children her age. She is more mature and meticulous for her age, even if she tried to hide her nature.

Though they are proud that their granddaughter/ daughter/ sister is more sensible and smart but they still wish for her to behave more her age.

Beeti felt a warmth in her heart. Her family like this is really nice, not like in her past life, where once she was out making money and focused on career everything else just faded. She herself has slowly distanced herself from her family.

In her last life, for making her and her brother's life better, her parents focused on making money, neglecting the time when she was in need of them. And it's not like she doesn't understand. At that time even if aggrieved, she understood that her parents were planning for their future. But still, countless small conflicts occurred every once in a while and their relationship gradually became distinct.

And her brother, as he was growing and the academic pressure caused the two siblings, once close to gradually drift apart. But the situation worsened when Bankim went for Senior secondary (11th & 12th) in a boarding school. She remembered that the longest call with her brother was of one or two minutes, much different from the typical siblings call logs

Comeing back to present and looking at her family, Beeti felt grateful for whatever reason her rebirth was, she atleast got back her once close and harmonious family. And she will strive to keep the atmosphere such.

Clearing her throat, Beeti started: "Dima, Maa, these are just a few new recipes I copied from online website. And they look tasty."

"And these are just the two recipes I wrote." Beeti said animatedly, slowly revealing a drooling expression:" there were many more tasty snacks, I just want to try some and then I read that these are all foreign delicacies."

' I really am going all out now. This is a do or die matter. I won't have any other way to make money soon, I have to make them agree no matter the cost.'

So, after a intense internal battle that didn't last even a second for real time, Beeti brased herself and continued with what she thought was utterly naive words.

"I really want to taste the foreign food, they say one the internet, a good kid has even for once should taste the cookies otherwise they are dumb."

"I don't want to be dumb, and don't want my friends to be either, not for my teachers, parents, grandparents, neighbour aunty..." after saying a bunch of names while cutely counting on her tender little fingers, Beeti said: "so after thinking for long... Trisha thought that after we sell them in our shop everyone can eat them and not be dumb anymore."

After completing her speech, she even nodded to herself.

The whole family fell silent.

How come they can't believe her reasoning.

Although doubtful, they understood that Beeti just wants them to make these snacks and sell them in their shop. And they saw no issue in doing that, though initially they were not against it, they too realised that the children at home are growing and need better educational resources and for that they have to financially better themselves. So this addition of snacks were accepted in their shop.

Beeti, upon seeing everyone agreeing and continue to further plan on how to proceed with the snack addition, haved a sigh of relief. Now that everyone has agreed and evrything will be handled by adults, she should focus more on her own work at hand.

"Beeti had in fact already made her future plan during her days reading novels. She just had to implement them with minor adjustments.

Beeti has decided to take the entrance examination for JNV, for her Secondary and Senior Second education. Which she has missed in her past life and was one of her lifelong regret.

But she didn't say this to anyone yet, it's still early to say this, as that would be more than four years from then.

Now, after dinner the children were doing their homework and the family went to prepare for bed. The elderly couple was watching T.V with low volume. The homework during those times were simple for such remote government schools. Bankim finished it quickly, of course one of the reasons was he was a straight A Student, and Beeti, being a straight A Student herself in her past life, on top of the fact that she herself has been reborn, these homeworks for primary school students were utterly simple.

At that time she has almost covered all syllabus for class one and second class ( first and second grade), and was revising the two class's syllabus. After all, half year into being reborn, she started to read along with her brother. She even wanted to complete the syllabus for class three but feared alarming everyone by making them think she is a monster short of thing.

After completing the school works the whole family went to sleep.

***Two hours later***

A young girl could be seen arranging herbs neatly, in front of her were various types of ayurvedic herbs. The surrounding was serene with occasional passing of small animals.

After collecting enough herbs to fill her basket, the girl ends herb collection for the day and set off for a certain direction.

At dawn the next day

Beeti woke up at dawn the next day, completed her morning routine and then she calmly took out a notebook to write down the ayurvedic herbs.

It all started on her two - year-old birthday after half year of being reborn. At first Beeti was having the same dream but the occurrence was rare, so she didn't pay much attention.

But after her third birthday, she started to dream about a young girl collecting ayurvedic herbs and by accident came to know that the herbs were really ayurvedic medicinal herbs.

So, since confirming the authenticity of the herbs, which were unknown to her to be real, she started to record them. Though initially sceptical, Beeti later assumed that it has to be some kind of golden finger which came late.

Whatever the reason for the dream, it is now going to be almost two years in couple of months. Beeti has written some thousands of medicinal herbs. And she had already found some hundreds of herbs in the village.

After writing down the herbs, Beeti practiced some horse stance for half an hour.

Afterwards, she took a bath and got ready for school.

Today, the teachers took the first lesson. Students of class one were looking like they have encountered a new world, some were excited, some were nervous and some were one the verge of crying, clamoring to go home. The class two students in the same room were tasked to maintain order in case the teachers are late.

During lunch break, Beeti once again went to library.

This time her brother came to find her, only to be told by one student that they saw Beeti going towards library.

When Bankim came, Beeti was typing something, Bankim only saw Beeti's fingers flying over the keyboard.

"Little sis, what are you doing alone in the library?"

"And why are you using the computer? Quickly come down and don't let anyone catch you playing." Bankim said urgently, while looking around fearing someone will report to the teachers and his little sister will be scolded.

"Da, I already asked permission from the teachers and don't worry I wasn't playing." saying so she pulled him to show the screen. By now Beeti actually finished her work and were looking for study materials.

"Look Da, I was planning on taking these English tests some days. I think you should also take these tests."
