Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The End of the War

Lying spreadeagled on the rubble of a collapsed building, Abomination couldn't accept the current reality: with a body comparable to, or even far exceeding, the Hulk's, he was the one knocked to the ground.

This was the last thing that should have happened!

"Roar!"

Abomination roared in anger, but even his roar sounded a little weak.

He wanted to tear that person to shreds, crush every piece of flesh and bone on him into dust, and use the opponent's blood to avenge his injured and frustrated state!

Abomination thought this with hatred and malice, but before he could get back up, his left eye was obscured by blood, and in a green field of vision, a flash of light suddenly appeared ahead!

Whoosh!!

The dust cloud lingering over the ruins was pierced by the sword tip, and along with it, the sound barrier was also broken! So, the sword tip arrived first, and the sound of the sword breaking the sound barrier followed closely behind!

Abomination quickly grabbed the longsword's blade, but the tip still reached his throat, and the sharp, vintage longsword broke through the tough skin, immediately piercing into the deep muscle and drawing blood!

All of this happened too suddenly.

It was then that Abomination saw the silver-haired youth sprinting towards him.

"Do you think you're still the only hunter on the field?"

Vincent's shoulder-length silver hair flew wildly backward, his eyes emotionlessly fixed on Abomination.

From the moment he chose to meet the challenge with a shield, the roles of hunter and prey had reversed! And when he unintentionally triggered his power to send Abomination flying and retrieved the vintage longsword, he had gained the initiative in that moment of the battle.

Now, Vincent, pressing his advantage and going all out, intended to turn this fleeting advantage into a decisive victory!

"I haven't killed a person, but since you're a monster, it doesn't matter," Vincent said dispassionately. At the same time, he concentrated the remaining divine power and all his remaining strength into his hands and feet, making a full-force motion to push the longsword forward.

Sizzle!

Corrosive green blood continuously oozed from Abomination's throat and palms. The vintage longsword slowly penetrated deeper, like a giant nail being driven into Abomination's throat!

Completely unexpected to be directly forced into a desperate situation, Abomination's sole remaining eye widened to its maximum, the incredulous expression on his face gradually disappearing, replaced by a frenzied, manic sneer.

Vincent suddenly had an ominous premonition, but he absolutely could not stop or retreat now. Once he lost this opportunity, if Abomination recovered, he wouldn't even be able to escape, let alone kill Abomination!

Yes.

At this moment, he had also pushed himself to a desperate situation!

Abomination suddenly released his grip on the sword blade, allowing the longsword to sink deeper into his body without obstruction, an action that Vincent hadn't anticipated.

Immediately after.

Abomination extended his hands forward, his fingers gripping Vincent's body and head, tightening his hold.

Almost instantly, Vincent felt his body being squeezed between two mountains, unable to breathe!

"So that's it," Vincent understood Abomination's intention.

In this life-or-death moment, he abandoned defense and chose to continue attacking!

Crack, crack, crack!

Vincent's bones rattled like popping beans, every inch of his body was compressed, and his entire frame felt like it was about to explode past its breaking point! Because he was enveloped by Abomination's gigantic hands, he couldn't see the opponent's current physical condition.

Even with his throat pierced, he still couldn't kill the opponent?

"If this continues, I might be the one to die first."

Vincent knew this very well, but he knew even more clearly that Abomination was forcing him to stop.

The opponent should also have reached his limit, otherwise, with the opponent's strength in close-quarters combat, he definitely wouldn't be able to last ten seconds. Now that it had been over ten seconds, it meant the opponent's strength had waned!

Once he stopped and gave up, he would truly lose.

Vincent gritted his teeth, persevering, and pushed the longsword all the way in with all his might, then swung it to the left.

But the longsword seemed to be stuck between muscle and bone, no matter how hard Vincent tried, he couldn't swing the vintage longsword even an inch!

Inside the dark building.

Vincent and Abomination stood face to face, Vincent with the longsword embedded in Abomination's throat, Abomination gripping Vincent's body with both hands. Their duel was about to reach its end!

But until the very last second, it was impossible to determine who was the loser, who was the winner, or if they would both perish!

"My body is about to give out!"

Vincent's body was on the verge of exhaustion, yet he still couldn't swing the longsword in his hand.

Is this the end?

Vincent was filled with unwillingness, pouring his last shred of strength into the longsword.

Pfft!

The longsword in his hand suddenly burst forth, slashing to the left. Vincent was slightly stunned, the large hand gripping him lost its strength and dropped to the ground with a thud. He opened his eyes and saw Abomination, almost decapitated, with only a piece of skin connecting his throat, and the remaining eye still filled with intense unwillingness!

"In the end, I won?"

Vincent found it hard to believe for a moment, even forgetting his own exhaustion, and stumbled to the ground, unable to stand. However, his back didn't hit the ruined ground, but a very warm and familiar embrace.

"What do you think?"

A clear, pleasant voice came from his ear. Vincent opened his eyes wide and saw the person he most wanted to see in his moment of life and death.

Aunt, Aunt.

Even Vincent didn't know when he had involuntarily called out.

"Look at what you've done to yourself," Diana said, looking at Vincent, with a hint of reproach in her tone.

"Aunt, I was wrong."

Vincent, who had been gambling his life against Abomination just a moment ago, now looked like a docile child with drooping ears listening to a lecture, making Diana both annoyed and amused.

But more than that, it was relief.

Relief that she had still made it in time.

"We'll talk about it when we get home."

Diana, over one meter eighty tall, was now wearing a golden, shining suit of armor, like a golden knight.

She was also decisive in her actions, wrapping her arms around Vincent's legs and carrying him in a bridal carry.

In the embrace of the mature and tall Diana, the middle school student Vincent appeared small, his silver hair lightly resting on the golden armor, like a knight and a princess.

Hmm, there seemed to be nothing wrong with that.

Vincent even tugged at his skirt, to avoid any exposure, though no one was watching anyway.

Diana glanced at Abomination's corpse on the ground, then pulled her hand from Vincent's body, somehow producing the golden lasso.

Crashing directly through the remaining ceiling of the building, Diana carried Vincent soaring into the sky. The Lasso of Truth seemed to catch onto something in the night sky, and the two quickly disappeared into the night, flying.

"Oh, right," Vincent said from high in the sky, embracing his aunt's slender neck, as if remembering something.

"What?" Diana asked, using the Lasso of Truth to carry him flying over the city's buildings high in the sky.

"Never mind, she should be fine," Vincent said, looking back at the battle-scarred city district they had left behind, shaking his head.

At this moment, in the city district where flames and smoke had not yet dissipated.

"Is it over?"

Looking at the distant, massive, decapitated corpse of Abomination, the American soldier remained in a daze for a long time until his communicator rang: "Reinforcement units are about to arrive at the scene, surviving soldiers please report the situation!"

"Situation? The target is dead, does that count as a situation?"

The American soldier felt like he was dreaming. The monster that had easily massacred their entire unit was finally beheaded and killed by someone?

He briefly reported the situation to the communicator, but he also knew that when he returned to the base, the subsequent verbal and written reports would undoubtedly be terribly long!

However.

To still be alive after tonight was already a blessing from God, so what was there to complain about?

The American soldier looked back into the house where he was, and was startled again.

The living room sofa was empty; Spider-Woman, who had been lying there unconscious, was now nowhere to be seen.

And no one noticed.

On the edge of the urban area that had been a battlefield, a green figure similar to Abomination lurked in the shadow of a building. Sensing Abomination's life force dissipate, it looked towards a corner of the night sky, both curious and somewhat belligerent. Finally, its body vanished into the darkness behind it, as if it had never been there.

Undercurrents surged through this city, and the events that transpired here, including some detailed recordings, would spread across the world in just half an hour.

Regardless.

As this extraordinary battle came to an end tonight, the subsequent impact was bound to be even more far-reaching!
