Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 The True Way to Open the Artifact

A green and a silver figure clashed at high speed on the city streets of Washington.

When Abomination's bulging, veiny right fist collided with the dark gold round shield Vincent held up, the American soldier, who was peeking at the battle from a rooftop of a building in the rear, would probably never forget the terrifying scene unfolding before his eyes.

The instant fist met shield, the air froze, and half the street lost all sound!

It was so quiet and dead silent that one could hear their own heartbeat and breathing, causing all survivors to involuntarily hold their breath.

The next instant.

Centered on the green monster and the silver-haired youth, a terrifying, translucent impact swept outwards. The ground beneath their feet was instantly stripped of a layer of earth, and the already dilapidated streetlights, windows, car windows, and glass doors on the street were utterly pulverized by the impact!

It was like a modern missile detonating on the spot, or a meteor falling from the sky!

Despite being nearly thirty meters away, the American soldier was still shaken by the aftershock, his ears ringing incessantly, his body thrown into the living room, and the powerful wind pressure pinning him down, unable to get up!

And this was merely the beginning of the battle!

Abomination's fist pressed against the dark gold round shield, continuously exerting force. The battle shield's surface glowed with a faint divine energy, blocking a significant amount of power and impact. However, even the small portion that remained still shattered the ground beneath Vincent's feet!

Vincent used the shield to parry Abomination's punch. His peripheral vision swept past Abomination's arm, landing on the longsword stuck diagonally in the ground behind him.

Without the antique longsword, he couldn't even break through Abomination's surface defense.

This was also why Vincent chose to take the initiative.

He held the dark gold round shield, not retreating a single step, wanting to pass Abomination and retrieve the antique longsword into his hand.

Abomination seemed to know Vincent's intention, grinning ferociously, and brought its other fist down from above, not giving him any chance to escape!

Bang!!

The road surface beneath, covered in spiderweb-like cracks, was the first to collapse under the pressure, forming a circular pit half a meter deep.

Vincent stood in the center of the pit, his feet, clad in battle boots, deeply embedded in the ground. Facing an unprecedented crisis, his body still stood tall and straight, his hands steadily holding up the dark gold round shield.

He was just an ordinary middle school student in the morning.

At this moment, Vincent was so calm that even he found it unbelievable!

Perhaps it was due to the divinity inherited from his aunt's ability, which made his emotions, originally those of an ordinary human, transparent.

Or perhaps, he was simply born for battle!

While using the shield to withstand Abomination's frantic pounding, Vincent rapidly pondered countermeasures in his mind.

Besides the longsword, what else on him could serve as a weapon?

That's right!

Vincent suddenly thought of something.

At this moment, Abomination suddenly released its fist, instead grabbing the dark gold round shield, while its other hand hammered towards Vincent's head from the side!

Vincent no longer hesitated, immediately letting go of the round shield with his right hand, and simply raised his arm as a shield!

The huge green fist slammed onto the back of Vincent's hand—no, more accurately, onto the silver bracelet he wore on his wrist!

Buzz!

An indescribable silver energy erupted from the bracelet, similarly deflecting Abomination's punch!

"I knew it!" Vincent was overjoyed.

Being covered in artifacts, this was truly no joke!

Abomination, failing to land a hit, suddenly swung its head forward fiercely, like a giant green hammer, sending Vincent, man and shield, flying fifty meters away.

His body skipped a few times on the ground like a stone on water, and Vincent crashed into a car door, causing the car body to dramatically dent and deform inwards.

"I almost messed up. The coronet, wasn't it a defensive item after all?" Vincent almost passed out, lying flat on the completely wrecked car, feeling a burning sting on his forehead. He simply took off the silver coronet he was wearing.

The silver coronet showed no damage whatsoever on its surface, its carved patterns intricate and luxurious. However, as a piece of defensive equipment, it seemed a bit 'subpar'—compared to the round shield and bracelet which came with divine power protection.

But looking at the form of the silver coronet in his hand, Vincent quickly froze again. How did this coronet look a bit like some kind of ranged weapon?

"It couldn't be..."

Vincent thought of a possibility, stood up with the silver coronet in hand, looked up at the pursuing Abomination, and suddenly threw the coronet forward with force!

If his aunt found out, would she hit him?

Such a thought flashed through Vincent's mind.

Whoosh!

The coronet, flying through the night, flickered, turning into a subtle silver gleam that was hard to perceive.

Abomination, charging forward, paused, then a splash of blood bloomed from its left eye. The silver coronet circled around its body and flew back into Vincent's hand.

Looking at the silver coronet in his hand, which remained as luxurious as ever without a speck of blood, Vincent felt a chill.

Who would have thought?

This silver coronet, which appeared the most elegant and noble, was also the most insidious and lethal hidden weapon!

Or rather, this was the true way to unleash an artifact!

After his right eye became a bloody gaping hole, his left eye also gained a distinct wound. Abomination couldn't accept what had happened. It widened its single eye, filled with seeping blood and a tear, its bloated body making a fierce rustling sound with the wind, and frantically pounced towards Vincent, heedless of everything!

Abomination, approaching infinitely, was reflected in his silver eyes. Vincent didn't hesitate, quickly raising his left arm, wearing the bracelet, in front of him. Feeling that this was still not reliable enough, he also raised his right hand.

What Vincent didn't expect was that when he crossed his hands to protect himself, and the bracelets buckled on his wrists collided.

It was as if a unique mechanism was triggered.

The bracelets on his left and right hands chimed upon impact. In that brief moment, Vincent felt the divine power on his body burn and evaporate, converging towards the intersection of his wrists!

Buzz!!

An unknown, massive energy exploded close in front of Vincent, yet it caused no harm to Vincent himself. However, everything around him, including dust, and Abomination, who had pounced in front, were all blasted away by this extremely destructive energy!

Bang! Bang! Bang—

The flying Abomination crashed into a building behind him, then through-type flew out from the back of the building, continuing to crash into a second building further back!

Finally, crashing into the exterior wall of a third building, Abomination, whose body had stopped, was not only furious but also so depressed that he wanted to spit blood!

Can you imagine?

When he finally reached max level, thinking he was invincible in this World, an eighty-level player provoked him. When he wanted to rub the opponent into the ground, the opponent revealed a full set of max-level divine gear!
