'She managed to transform all of the monsters into blood mist with just one attack? Hehe...he, it would be best for me not to annoy sister Maria from now on.' Rudra laughed dryly as he started to remember all the times when he had managed to annoy Sister Maria and made her really angry. Luckily, he was never turned into blood mist by Maria.
"There are just a few more monsters left. Everyone, spread out and start killing any monsters that enter your line of sight. If you see anyone in need of medical attention, be sure to help them first. Although there are just a few monsters left, be very careful. I will be helping anyone who gets into trouble, but try not to get hurt." Declared sister Maria, her voice was heard throughout the entire city as she had used a technique that used spiritual power to enhance her voice.
Following Maria's order, the rest of the Nuns didn't waste any more time as they started hunting the few remaining monsters that were running rampant inside the city. Rudra was still atop the bell tower, so he had a clear view of what was going on in the city, and he could tell that the incident was almost under control in just a few minutes.
Although no one could match Maria in terms of strength, they were, in every right, very powerful themselves. Rudra was almost certain that all of the nuns taking care of the orphanage used to be part of the church's army at some point in time. The fires that started because of the monsters were almost put out, and many injured people were gathered in front of the orphanage as some of the nuns began healing severely injured civilians.
"Its a releif that we have sister Maria with us, i dont even want to imagine what could have happened if she wasnt here." said Sister Lisa as the nervousness on her face started to disappear.
"Its all thanks to her that we were able protect most of the civilian's life." said Sister Nina as she smiled.
The courtyard of the orphanage which was completely silent a few minutes ago, finally started to become a little noisy as the Nuns operating the defense artifact started chatting amongst themselves. It was not just them that felt relived, Rudra too was sighing in relief.

"Sister Maria, we have finished checking the damages and the surveing the area and we have come to a conclusion that there are no more Monsters inside the city wall. On top of that we were thankfully able to save most of the civilians with the help of our Healers. As it seems we have finished our duties here inside the city some of us were thinking about going outside the city and checking the situation there. Do we have your permission mam?" asked Sister Amber. For a few seconds there was no reply to her question though as it seemed sister Maria was seeply thinking about something.
"No, just stay here." said Maria as once more she went silent. Sister Amber was somewhat confused but she didnt press the issiue any further.
"Sister Maria should we deactivate the artifact and start taking all of the injured inside the orphanage? I think it would be faster if we helped healing the civilians as well." Asked sister Zoe as she looked concerned. The tempreature outside was very cold as the winter was approaching, so leaving so many injured people outside was not a very good idea.
"NO, DO NOT DEACTIVATE THE ARTIFACT." Sister Maria just snapped very oposite of ther usual behaviour. This was the first time most of the people here saw sister Maria react that way, so many of the nuns had a very serious look on their faces as they saw Maria like that.
"I apologize, it was not my intention to anger you." said sister Amber as cold sweat ran down her back.
Sister Maria didnt even react after hearing the apology as it seemed she hadnt even heard what Sister Amber had said afterwards.
"ENOUGH WITH THE GAMES, WHOEVER YOU ARE, COME OUT THIS INSTANT. IF YOU COME OUT NOW I WILL CONSIDER SHOWING MERCY, OR ELSE YOU WILL DIE A VERY PAINFUL DEATH." Shouted Maria, chills ran down everyone's body as they heard Sister Maria. Maria seemed to have felt someone's presence during this ordeal.
'Maybe, i felt wrong. To think that i would be wrong in feeling presence, maybe my age i finally catching up with me. haha' Maria started laughing inside while ridiculing herself for being wrong. Maria shook her head as she started walking towards the area where the injured people where being kept and being healed, she wanted to see if she could do anything.
CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP
Sister Maria froze with shock as the hairs on the back of her neck stood. Maria slowly turned around hoping to see who the person was, she didnt make any hasty movements a she didnt want to be attacked while the enemy was not in her line of sight, although she still wasnt sure if the person was enemy or not. As she was finally able to see who was clapping, her expression became solemn.
'Why cant i feel any spritiual energy fluctuation from this man? Just who is he?' Sister Maria questioned herself as he was looking at the mysterious man.
The man who was clapping stood midair, looking down at the all of the people on the ground as well as Maria. His eyes were deep red same as the colour of blood, because of that his eyes stood out the most. He was wearing a suit while his face was mostly covered by a mask, so it was quite hard to tell what his face looked like.
"It seems you havent lost your touch after all crimson slaughterer. even after so many years you are as strong as the past, no you might even be stronger." Said the mysterious man joyfully as if he had met a long time friend. On the other hand hearing the man, Maria's expression became grim.
Most of the people who heard the man speak, were left stunned as some of them were even in disbelief. Rudra was also one of them, that was because of the nickname that the man used to address Maria, from what he had learned, he knew that the nickname belonged to a valkyrie who had single handedly defended a outpost that was attacked by monsters for 3 days untill backup arrived. That was just one of the many heroic feats that she accomplished.
'If sister Maria really is the Crimson Slaughterer... HEHEHEHE once i meet Julie again i will have to tell her that, i cant even imagine what kinds of faces she will make after hearing such news,' thought Rudra as he smiled devilishly. Many girls who wanted to be Valkyrie looked up to Crimson Slaughterer, Julie idiolized her as well. However, Julie didnt like sister Maria as much as she was quite strict. Rudra knew if Julie was here, she would start having an existential crisis.
"May i ask you who you are, and how do you know who i am?" Sister Maria seemed shocked as well as wary of the uninvited guest.
