Chapter 119 - Chapter 120

  Chapter 120 A Dilemma:

  Voldemort Has Targeted Draco?

"Wait—Harry seems to have found the Golden Snitch!"

  Ron suddenly exclaimed.

A light drizzle finally began to fall from the gloomy sky. Harry and the bouncy ball weaved through the rain, one after the other, but unlike their previous evasive maneuvers, this time Harry was clearly chasing a target.

Even though Draco was usually absent-minded, he snapped back to reality and immediately flew to Harry's side—there was still a chance to salvage the situation, as his Nimbus 2001 was faster than Harry's Nimbus 2000.

It's difficult to simultaneously notice an opponent flying ahead and a walnut-sized ball in the rain, so when Harry began using feints to trick Draco into circling around, Draco had no choice but to follow suit.

The two were getting further and further away from the fleeing Golden Snitch, which was exactly what Harry wanted—he now held the initiative in the chase. He needed to use maneuvering tactics to create more distance so he could catch the Golden Snitch first; otherwise, he would definitely lose in a straight-line chase.

The match was intense, but Cohen in the stands wasn't particularly concerned with the outcome.

He had more important things to consider.

He wondered if Malfoy would reveal that Lucius had given Cohen the diary if Voldemort approached him.

The Malfoy family's misfortune was a minor matter; Cohen losing a major source of sin and goodwill points was the real issue.

Voldemort was a veritable machine for generating sin and goodwill points; Cohen only needed to touch him slightly to reap a mountain of rewards. He couldn't afford to turn him into a mere enemy so easily.

After all, an enemy is an enemy, and an enemy can't simply become—

"Hermione, stop covering your face! Look! Harry caught—Bloody Hell! Harry's in trouble—" Ron excitedly nudged Hermione, but his face turned deathly pale the next second.

Harry had been hit by a Blink-Ball and fallen off his broom.

Referee Madam Hooch blew her whistle, declaring Gryffindor the winner.

The Gryffindor spectators all stood up and rushed down the stairs to check on Harry. Cohen followed the crowd, but he couldn't go with the Gryffindors to take Harry to the school hospital.

Cohen wasn't needed here; he needed to find Malfoy to confirm the situation.

After the match, the Slytherin players walked dejectedly towards the locker room. Malfoy silently changed quickly and came out, leaving the group without even saying goodbye.

Cohen blocked his way back to the common room and dragged him into the hallway toilet.

Suddenly, he felt like a school bully…

  "Ah—you—"

Malfoy said慌张地, his eyes darting around.

In this situation, Cohen didn't need to say anything.

True interrogators often only need the simplest methods.

  "..."

Cohen crossed his arms and silently watched him.

  "What—"

Malfoy swallowed hard, stealing a glance at Cohen.

The pressure he'd been under these past few days was immense. The Dark Lord had ordered a student like him to kill... how could that be? Who starts killing in their student days? What if he was discovered? Would he be imprisoned in Azkaban?

  "You... you knew?"

  Such a quick self-destruction!

Cohen thought the stalemate would last a long time—but Malfoy broke down in three seconds.

  "Save me—he ordered me to kill—I... I..."

  Malfoy pleaded,

  "I dare not tell anyone—"

"So you just told me like that?" Cohen was getting tense. "I haven't even started threatening you yet. And isn't it normal for you to kill someone? It would be abnormal if Voldemort wanted you to be a good student."

"But I..." Malfoy hesitated, "Wait—there's something you need to know, he seems to be targeting you... He asked me to find a way to frame you for the attack—I'm a bit confused, I thought you were in cahoots with him—so I didn't dare tell him about the diary my father gave you..."

"It was the right thing not to tell, your family would be finished if you did." Cohen nodded. "You should be glad he's in ghost form now and can't use Legilimency."

  "Huh?"

  Malfoy looked at Cohen incredulously,

  "So you back then..."

"Children shouldn't get involved in this," Cohen said. "Your mouth is a bit loose; I'll help you edit your memories later so you don't let anything slip and Voldemort will target your family—you should thank me."

Malfoy found this strange, although erasing his memories did seem to prevent the Dark Lord from discovering that his family had given away the diary…

"But I've already told him—about your desire to resurrect him… Will that have an impact?" Malfoy asked anxiously. "He seemed very happy."

"Then he certainly should be happy," Cohen said. "And that's exactly what I intend to do."

"But why did he still want me to frame you…" Malfoy asked, confused. "Shouldn't you two be—"

"Because he wants me too much." Cohen raised an eyebrow. "He wants me to break ties with the good guys because of a misunderstanding, which is easy to understand."

  "Aren't you angry?"

"Would you be angry with food for being framed?" Cohen said calmly.

  Malfoy was stunned.

The pressure that had just accumulated in his heart almost made him forget that Cohen was a Dementor—perhaps that's how people were in Cohen's eyes.

"Enough talk, it's pointless. I'm going to erase some of your memories." Cohen drew his wand.

"Wait—can you have him come to you… or anyone else…" Malfoy stammered, "I don't want to…"

"What are you afraid of? It's all Voldemort's doing that to you." Cohen said, "And I have a next plan—don't panic, the memory alteration will be quick."

After making a major alteration to Malfoy's memories, Cohen released the dazed Malfoy from the toilet.

It seemed like this was the same toilet on the first floor when he was punished last year by sucking his pleasure…

Now, Malfoy's memories no longer included the diary Lucius gave Cohen, nor the conversation between Cohen and him just now. In its place was a false memory: "Cohen's investigation into the Chamber of Secrets has led him to Malfoy, and the information that Voldemort was hiding with Malfoy is about to be exposed."

After Malfoy regains his senses, he'll definitely go to Voldemort and tell him about it, then Cohen can figure out Voldemort's true attitude towards him...

  "This feels so strange..."

After returning to the Room of Requirement and sharing the plan with the Earl, Cohen couldn't stop thinking about it.

  "I've seen this before!"

  the Earl immediately said,

"Those two tsundere types both want the other to come to them first—"
