Chapter 120 - Chapter 121

Chapter 121 The Arrogance Has Regressed

  "The arrogance has regressed,"

  Cohen said .

"Besides, it was Voldemort who hid from me first."

"But you also planned for him to come to you," the Earl said incisively. "The little guy is quite stubborn—"

"You've grown wings?" Cohen looked at the Earl with gentle eyes. "Or is it just too hot lately, and your feathers are too tight?"

"Ha, I meant he's quite stubborn," the Earl corrected himself. "You know, someone as stubborn as him deserves to be thoroughly—" "You

can't expect anything good to come out of a bird's mouth," Cohen retorted. "Voldemort is already over sixty years old, don't make me associate him with anything beautiful—it makes me want to vomit."

Naturally, he couldn't wait for Voldemort in the Room of Requirement, so Cohen returned to the Gryffindor common room, which was empty.

Cohen didn't wait long. In the late afternoon, a familiar soul drifted into the Gryffindor dormitory.

  [Soul Strength: 40+10]

Malfoy was very efficient. Voldemort arrived huffing and puffing as soon as he knew Cohen was about to find out—

Voldemort's ghost crawled into the book in front of Cohen, and some red ink began to move on the page Cohen had opened, forming words.

  [Find a safe place]

  Cohen's expression changed drastically.

[I have a plan... I need your help...]

Cohen stiffly took the book to an empty classroom and then sealed the doors and windows.

"Ah... we meet again..." Voldemort's hideous face bulged out of the book, "Don't be afraid..."

  "Afraid my ass!"

Cohen had been holding back his anger the whole way,

"This is a library book! Do you have to write on it with red ink?! What if Mrs. Pince asks about it? Will you borrow books for me from now on? You're always thinking about yourself, don't you have any public spirit? When you borrowed books with your own name before, why didn't you scribble on them..."

  "?"

  Cohen's relentless criticism stunned Voldemort.

He had expected Cohen to be angry because he had discovered more facts about being "framed," and he had expected Cohen to be angry because of the upcoming plans—but he never expected it to be because of…

  a lousy book?!

He was the Dark Lord, feared throughout the entire wizarding world! Just like that, he was being lashed out at him?!

  Who doesn't have any shame?!

  Voldemort's face turned cold.

"I'll help you clean up those traces… don't be angry…"

  Voldemort said.

If it weren't for the fact that even the Avada Kedavra curse couldn't kill him, Voldemort would have already lost his temper.

It was only after hearing that Cohen was still alive and kicking that he was determined to bring Cohen to his side.

Even the Killing Curse couldn't do anything to Cohen; not only could it not kill Cohen's soul, but it couldn't even scratch Cohen's body.

This gave Voldemort a troublesome feeling—he couldn't do anything to Cohen, and if Cohen became his opponent, how would he control this dark magic creation?

Burke Manor had indeed created a major problem.

Fortunately, Cohen had shown Voldemort a friendly and cooperative attitude last year, which prevented Voldemort from having too much of a headache.

Previously, he had tried to frame Cohen using Lockhart and the Malfoy boy—to isolate him from the school and Dumbledore, thus cutting off any possibility of him becoming his enemy.

However, Lockhart was a good-for-nothing, and the Malfoys had just been captured—neither of them were useful.

After all this, he had returned to Cohen, and finally Voldemort realized…

"You are still the best ally…"

  Voldemort said to Cohen,

"The attacks at school these days…"

"You ordered them, I found out." Cohen looked at him. "But what I'm more curious about is why Lockhart wrote my name."

  "That's because…"

  Voldemort paused for a moment,

"because… only this way can you clear yourself of suspicion… the murderer wouldn't leave their name on the wall…"

"Got it, next time I'll sign my name as Voldemort on the wall." Cohen nodded.

The atmosphere became awkward for a moment. Voldemort didn't speak, and neither did Cohen.

But there was no overt animosity between them, as if they were joking with each other.

"So, what do you want this time?" Cohen said. "You can't have come here just to give me the title of 'Slytherin's heir,' can you?"

"I'm going to kill Harry Potter." Voldemort made up a reason.

"Don't even think about it, you can't kill him," Cohen said. "I've tried. His mother cast a sacrificial protection spell on him. No one can kill him while that spell is still active. You felt it last year too; even touching his soul would cause unbearable pain."

"Perhaps we should try the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets…" Voldemort said. "Do you know the Chamber of Secrets…"

"The words you left on the wall?" Cohen asked. "The monster in the Chamber of Secrets is the basilisk?"

"That's right…" Voldemort's tone carried a hint of arrogance. "I am the last descendant of Slytherin… I can control the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets and make it kill people…"

  "Hmm?"

  Cohen snorted.

  "Can it beat Dumbledore?"

"No." Voldemort said truthfully. "It can't even defeat me in my prime."

You really do subconsciously think you're inferior to Dumbledore, little Voldemort…

  Cohen pursed his lips.

"But we can use this to get rid of Dumbledore first…" Voldemort said. "If students and teachers keep getting attacked at school, he certainly can't continue being the headmaster…"

"Good idea." Cohen raised his eyebrows.

Dumbledore himself wasn't present, so there was more room for maneuver.

How could they maintain their alliance with Voldemort while also being good students to Dumbledore?

  Cohen already had an idea.

"Then we'll lure Harry into the Chamber of Secrets and use the Basilisk to kill him," Cohen continued for Voldemort. "Then we'll frame him too, saying that he was responsible for these attacks—and that Hogwarts hasn't been attacked since his death."

"That sounds familiar…" Voldemort thought of when he framed that big, dumb half-giant. "But it is indeed a good plan…"

"Who will we kill next?" Cohen asked.

  "?"

This was the second time Voldemort had been stunned.

  "This... so fast?"

"You're so slow! Damn it, you're the reason we didn't get the Philosopher's Stone in the first half of the year!" Cohen said angrily. "I did so much for you, and what did you do? I've already got the Philosopher's Stone! You ran away as soon as Dumbledore showed up. Is he your father? Are you that afraid of him?"

Voldemort was scolded, but he didn't argue.

Because what Cohen said was absolutely true...
