Chapter 138 - chapter 128 part 2

chapter 128 part 2

The moment the energy blasts struck the Destroyer, a powerful roar erupted, sending sparks flying.

However, the Destroyer merely paused for a moment; its advance was not significantly hindered. Its colossal and unyielding body seemed capable of withstanding any attack, and it continued to bear down on Stephen Fang and Thor.

Tony Stark's voice boomed from the air, "Fang! What is this thing?!"

"A monster made of material even harder than the Vibranium I asked you to buy!"

"Then what should we do?!" Stark was also stunned.

At this moment, Stephen Fang suddenly had a flash of inspiration and shouted, "Tony, take Thor to New Mexico to pull the hammer!"

Though Iron Man was puzzled, he knew the situation was critical and didn't hesitate for a moment. He deftly adjusted his flight path in the air, approached Thor, and steadily caught him with his mechanical arm.

"Hold tight, Thor!" Tony Stark shouted, then engaged his thrusters and flew towards the sky.

After Thor was carried away by Iron Man, the Destroyer's movements visibly paused.

Its colossal head slowly rotated, locking its gaze on Stephen Fang.

Through the Destroyer's vision, Stephen Fang seemed to see Loki's smug yet hateful gaze, the mastermind lurking in Asgard.

Clearly, Loki wasn't in a hurry to kill Thor. He wanted to get revenge on Stephen Fang first, to repay the fright from last time!

Sure enough, in the Asgardian Palace, Loki curved his lips into a smile, preparing to have the Destroyer charge its energy for a one-shot kill on Stephen Fang!

But just then, Loki's vision blurred, and a figure he least wanted to see appeared in the hall!

Odin!!

"Fa-father..." Loki, on the throne, hastily rose. "Listen, listen to my explanation!"

"Odin" clearly had no intention of listening to Loki's explanation. He raised his hand, and a lightning bolt struck!

Loki, frightened, covered his eyes, and a feeling of regret actually welled up in his heart!

But then...

He lowered his hands and checked his body.

The imagined burning sensation didn't appear.

Loki opened his eyes. Where was Odin's figure in the palace?

"Damn it, that 'magic' again! Can it influence me even through the Destroyer's vision?!"

Loki hastily reconnected to the Destroyer's vision. The image flickered; aside from airplanes and cannons, where was Stephen Fang's figure?

The S.H.I.E.L.D. outpost, located in New Mexico, on the outskirts of 'Hammer Village'.

This outpost was established entirely because of the immovable great hammer that had fallen from the sky.

To facilitate research, a special outpost was set up here.

Iron Man arrived here with Thor. Coulson had been waiting for a long time. The gleaming hammer lay on the open ground, awaiting the touch of its master—Thor.

Thor walked nervously towards the hammer lying quietly on the open ground, each step incredibly heavy.

His gaze was fixed on the hammer. In his eyes was both a nostalgic longing for the divine power he once wielded as the God of Thunder, and the current apprehension and unease of being an ordinary man.

Reaching the hammer, Thor took a deep breath, slowly extended his hand, and gripped the handle.

He gritted his teeth and began to exert force, veins bulging on his arms, muscles tensed, putting all his strength into trying to lift the hammer.

Yet, the hammer remained utterly still, as if rooted to the ground, lying there quietly, seemingly mocking Thor's helplessness at that moment.

Beads of sweat gradually appeared on Thor's forehead. Unwilling to give up, he increased his effort, letting out an involuntary low growl, a growl filled with unwillingness and stubbornness.

But no matter how hard he tried, the hammer showed no sign of budging, maintaining its original form, cold and hard.

Iron Man Tony Stark, watching Thor in this state, felt his curiosity thoroughly piqued. He walked forward and gripped the hammer's handle.

Tony Stark activated his armor's thrusters. A powerful thrust instantly erupted; the flames spewing from the thrusters blackened the surrounding ground and kicked up a cloud of dust!

Yet, the hammer remained quietly in place, offering no reaction whatsoever.

It seems he's really messed things up. Even with a tool, the hammer showed no response.

Thor looked at the hammer, still utterly still, his face filled with gloom and dejection. The divine weapon he once wielded with ease was now unattainable. This disparity plunged his spirits to rock bottom.

Just then, a whistling sound came from the sky. Everyone looked up to see a figure rushing towards them. As the figure drew closer, they recognized it as Stephen Fang.

The moment Stephen Fang landed, he seemed to lose all his strength. His legs buckled, and he nearly collapsed onto the ground.

He braced himself with hands on his knees, gasping heavily for breath, his chest heaving violently. Large beads of sweat continuously rolled down his forehead, clearly indicating that the journey had exhausted an immense amount of his stamina, leaving him nearly spent.

After a good while, he managed to straighten up, looked at Thor, and asked in a slightly hoarse voice, "Still can't lift it?"

Thor merely shook his head silently, offering no reply. His dejected expression spoke volumes.

However, before anyone could recover from the oppressive atmosphere, the once clear sky suddenly changed color. A magnificent rainbow, like a colossal sharp blade, cleaved down from the clouds, extending directly towards their location.

Accompanied by a dull roar, at the end of that rainbow light, it was none other than the relentlessly pursuing Destroyer!

Seeing this, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents quickly raised their weapons and fired a volley at the Destroyer.

Suddenly, gunshots roared, and bullets rained down on the Destroyer.

But those bullets, striking the Destroyer's incredibly tough body, were like ants trying to shake a tree, merely scattering a few sparks and failing to inflict any substantial damage whatsoever.

Hawkeye rushed out from behind cover, his gaze like electricity. He quickly nocked several specially made arrows, drew his bowstring taut, and with a few "whoosh" sounds, several arrows, carrying a fierce wind, flew towards the Destroyer.

The arrows accurately struck the Destroyer but only scraped a few shallow marks on its surface, utterly unable to pierce the unyielding body forged from special Asgardian metal. Subsequently, those marks also healed as if new, leaving no trace behind.

Iron Man's armor energy rapidly converged, and the energy cannons in his palms instantly blazed with light!

"Boom! Boom!" Accompanied by two loud blasts, two thick energy beams roared towards the Destroyer. The powerful impact force generated a gale, sweeping up surrounding dust and gravel into the air.

The energy beams violently struck the Destroyer, instantly erupting in a blinding flash. That light made everyone instinctively squint their eyes.

But when the light faded, everyone despairingly discovered that the Destroyer had merely swayed slightly, its incredibly solid body not even bearing a single visible mark.

Tony Stark's brows furrowed, his heart filled with astonishment and unwillingness. He gritted his teeth and once again increased his armor's energy output. Various energy devices on his suit began to flash with dangerous light, clearly operating under an overload.

A 'zzzt zzzt zzzt' sound of electrical current crackled around the armor. Immediately after, several small energy beams shot from different parts of the armor towards the Destroyer. These beams interwove, like a dense net of light, attempting to envelop the Destroyer and deliver a fatal blow.

However, the Destroyer remained unmoved. Those energy beams, striking its body, merely stirred up faint sparks, which quickly dissipated into nothingness.

Its colossal form still stood steadily there, exuding a chilling sense of oppression, as if silently mocking everyone's overestimation of their own strength.

Watching the nearly invincible Destroyer before them, a deep sense of powerlessness welled up in everyone's hearts. The faint spark of hope that had ignited was now mercilessly extinguished by the hammer's cold demeanor.

Loki, in the Asgardian Palace, found this scene amusing.

These inferior Midgardians actually thought they could use their laughable technology to attack Asgard's strongest technological creation, the Destroyer.

It was as ridiculous as a tank driving into the African savanna and being rammed by a wild boar.

Just as everyone fell into despair...

Suddenly, Stephen Fang looked up!

In the distance, an armed helicopter speeding towards them caught everyone's attention!

Loki wasn't in a hurry to act. He waited quietly, wanting to see what kind of tricks these primitives could pull.

Before long, the helicopter finally flew over the Destroyer!

In the crowd, Stephen Fang's Sharingan focused on the thing poking its head out of the helicopter, and his heart leaped with joy!

Though Captain Marvel didn't come, a real monster did.

Hulk's nemesis!

The gamma-ray radiation monster—Abomination!
