When Arrak and I got to the castle, it was already dark.
I stood there, out in the fog.
Waiting to be brought in.
Then I saw the large wooden front doors slide open.
"German. Come inside."
My mother firmly commanded.
I could smell a feast cooking
so I couldn't resist myself and went inside.
I saw Arrak turn to leave from behind the door.
"Goodbye my lord"

My mother shut the door.
The smell got stronger as I traveled deeper into the halls.
Then I saw the source.
Though it was no delicious feast.
It was a pile of cooked and seasoned human bodies.
"Welcome home son. It's nice to see you alright after what happened"
My father smiled at me.
Acting like those dead bodies were completely normal.
He didn't really care that I was okay.
He cared that I was still useful.
"Sit with us"
My parents settled into their seats and tore limbs from the pile.
"What… what is this?"
I was completely repulsed at the sight of my parents digging their fangs into human flesh.
That could've been me 18 years ago.
"It's just human meat."
"And it's from the best farm in the kingdom!"
I gagged at my mother's degenerate comment.
They were farming humans?
Like they were animals?
It was then that I realized how sick this kingdom really was.
Though I don't know what I expected from filthy cryptids.
"I… I'm not hungry"
"I don't care. Come eat"
"Please, I'm really sick"
"It's because you're hungry. Now eat or you'll be doing 20 laps around the castle in the morning"
I really had no choice.
But at least I had the body of a cryptid now.
So I sat at the table and reluctantly took a limb from one of the bodies.
Without any choice, I took a bite out of it.
I suppressed the hospital food from rising and swallowed.
Then my mother opened her mouth to speak
"Gerrnan. We have something to tell you"
I looked at them, curious.
"Yes?"
My mother continued
"We have signed you up for the military where you will fight against the humans"
My stomach dropped.
