Chapter 23 - Chapter 3: The World (Part 11)

The other girls returned from their walk, and Uriel was once again with Mila in Uriel's hall; they looked amazed by everything they had seen.

"This place is truly impressive."

"Yes, it really is."

"This place previously belonged to a castle of one of the Kings who followed Chrom."

"So this was a King's Castle… I had never been in one."

"Don't even dream about it, Ajah, you're too rude, they wouldn't let you in."

"I bet they wouldn't let you in either, you commoner."

"Girls, I think you should stop, we are in front of—"

"HAHAHAHA you all get along very well, it's nice."

—So this is what it feels like to have siblings and friends… In my past life I had no friends, nor siblings. I don't know if any of my siblings, the ones who were attacked back then, survived. I should take a look when I return to the village.

"Tomorrow we will return to the village, so for today eat whatever you want and rest. They will take you to the table and show you your rooms."

Thus the girls left the hall and went with some servants to another part of the temple. Suddenly Zerothiel appeared while Uriel was standing in a posture that expressed concern.

"My lord, I am here."

"Hello Zero, I hadn't seen you all day."

"I was in Abbadom, my lord."

"You can open the door on your own too."

"I can do it thanks to a support skill I obtained when you named me, my lord."

"I see… That's good."

"I noticed you seemed a bit worried upon arriving. Is everything in order?"

"Tomorrow I plan to return to the city of Elfrien, it was the first city I went to."

"That is wonderful, my lord. Do you have any plans there?"

"Tomorrow I will go for the prophet Yin; he is actually an avatar of Chrom, but he no longer has any will. Either way, I want to take care of him."

"If you wish, I can do it, my lord. If that is what worries you, just tell me how to recognize him and it will be done."

"No, that's not it, Zero, but thank you. I can handle that. It's just that… I have some acquaintances and I don't know what to bring them—something like a gift or something similar."

"There is an old man, a blacksmith, and a young boy, but I don't know what to bring them…"

"May I know more about that old man and the young boy?"

"The old man is the chief of the Hukure village, who is now also in Elfrien. It seems that after the numerous attacks before Chrom's fall, they had to flee to a larger city. Last time he did a lot for me and gave me money from something I hunted. With that I bought clothes and my scythe, which was from that blacksmith I mentioned."

"I see. How about giving him a book?"

"A book?"

"Yes, there are many books here. I suppose one might interest the chief of a small village; after all, knowledge is power."

"You're right, Zero, you're a genius."

"I do not deserve your praise, my lord."

Although he had just said that, Zerothiel's face and behavior were very strange, as if he were in a divine ecstasy from happiness; however, he composed himself quickly.

"And what about that young boy?"

"He is a very strong young man, considered the guardian of that village, and he is the first human S-Rank I ever met. He could also lift my scythe easily before it became Daelvachor, and it was already very heavy."

"I understand. Did this village guardian carry any weapon with him?"

"Now that I think about it… I don't think so."

"In that case, you could gift him a weapon."

"That's true. I could ask Higram to forge a weapon for Antoine, although I would like it to be something special. I would like to have a suitable material, something resistant like what I used for Daelvachor or even more."

"Something like a magical metal?"

"Yes, something like that."

"In the Dark World we have a very strong mineral called Litar, and it is a magical Crystal that can conduct magic; it is ideal for a weapon."

"Great, Zero, that sounds very good. Also, if it is an abundant mineral, I would like to take advantage of it to make weapons for the warriors of this world. It seems Aeris is now organizing everything for the recruitment of formidable warriors who will serve as Paladins. If we give them weapons made from this material, it could be a distinctive symbol compared to normal weapons. I could also offer the contract directly to Higram so he can forge them—that will be his gift."

"I understand, my lord… It's just that…"

"Is something wrong?"

"In Abbadom this mineral is not abundant, we only have a little stored. Forgive my ineptitude, my lord, the mineral is abundant in other regions of the Dark World…"

—If only I controlled more territory, I could give him everything… Of course… —Zerothiel thought in a moment of frustration.

"Do you think the mineral you have is enough for one weapon?"

"Yes, my lord, it would be enough for a weapon such as a sword or some daggers."

"In that case, I will ask for your help to obtain that mineral; then we will see how to get more."

"I will immediately have them search for it, my lord."

Zerothiel turned his head to another side and a flash shot from his eyes. He had given the order to search for the mineral they were talking about.

"Regarding obtaining more of that mineral, please leave it in my hands."

"Eh? Very well, Zero, then I leave it in your hands."

The next morning Uriel, along with Daelvachor and the girls, were in an open area of the temple. Uriel stood in the middle of all the girls, and a sort of magic circle emerged from the ground.

[Instant Movement]

That circle became many others and rose quickly from the floor, leaving rays of light and shine in the place and making Uriel and the girls disappear.

♦ ♦ ♦

(City of Elfrien)

The city was lively and full of color; children smiled and ran everywhere, the market was very active, and there were all kinds of species. Everyone seemed to get along. Suddenly, in the middle of the street, a wind began to blow and a circle with many sparks started to form, and finally Uriel and the girls appeared in the place.

The people who were near were surprised by what they had just witnessed and stared closely.

From a rooftop, Antoine appeared after making an agile jump.

"I felt a flow of energy suddenly appear in this place."

"Antoine, it's us."

"And we brought someone."

"It's you girls. Did you bring someone?"

"Yes, it's me, Antoine. Did you already forget me?"

"Aaaaahhhh it's you, my frieeeend!"

"Hey, Antoine, you must be more respectful; Uriel is the god of Vitalium."

"Yes, I know, he's someone awesome. I want to thank you for having freed this world from Chrom's evil. But tell me, how have you been, my friend?"

"The god of Vitalium?"

"My Lord Uriel?"

A crowd began to gather to see Uriel, expressing gratitude and devotion. Uriel and the others continued walking toward the village chief's house while Uriel and Antoine talked along the way.

"So you came back just as you promised, Lord Uriel."

"Yes, I am back with you. Last time I had to leave quickly; I was being chased by some disciples of Chrom."

"I see, then he always had his eyes on you."

"In a way, yes."

"That's terrible."

"Also, just call me Uriel. I would be embarrassed if someone who welcomed me into their village and offered their help called me 'Lord.'"

"I understand, then… Young Uriel."

"By the way, I brought you something, sir—it's a book about territory administration. It's from the royal library; there were many books, but this one seemed especially good. I hope it's useful to you."

"Really, sir? Thank you very much."
