Suddenly, a visit was announced. Apparently, a group of human girls had arrived at the Temple to see Uriel. They introduced themselves as Ajah, Rajah, Mila, and Tonka. Their names reached Uriel, who recognized them and ordered they be brought in immediately.
"Lord Uriel will receive you shortly. Please wait here in the hall."
"Thank you very much."
Some attendants arrived with a pitcher and offered the girls drinks. They were fascinated by how good it tasted, and it was accompanied by a slice of cake—so delicious they made a fuss over it as well. After a moment of waiting, they were instructed to enter the main hall where Uriel was.
They walked through a corridor lined with many stone statues—knights in full armor. At a distance, they began to notice two enormous demons clad in armor, carrying huge shields and gigantic swords. They guarded the entrance to the door. The demons allowed the girls to pass, opening the massive doors effortlessly, each with a single hand. Inside… a spacious chamber, and at the far end, sitting upon a high throne, was Uriel, dressed in a black robe with majestic white details. The girls bowed.
"Welcome. There's no need for that, we're old friends. Treat me as before, if you don't mind."
The human girl to whom Uriel had given the ribbon ran toward him. Blue hair, beautiful skin, dressed in blue clothing that matched her long hair, and wearing the ribbon Uriel had gifted her.
"I'm really happy to see you again… Mila. And all of you too... Ajah, Tonka, Rajah."
"Yesss! I have to say… I didn't expect things to turn out so well for you."
"Ajah… show some respect. And, by the way, we're sorry about the poisoned cloak. We didn't know you were actually the incarnation of Nih. We feel very ashamed."
"Don't worry, that's in the past. Besides, it didn't harm me at all and it actually helped me cover myself, HAHAHA."
"So you really are the god of this world?"
"I am."
"Thank you for giving us our color back and removing our limiters… Antoine even got stronger."
—Right. Antoine was the name of the boy who lifted my scythe like it was nothing.
"By the way, how is everyone? You must tell Higram to come visit me when he can."
"Everyone is fine…"
The girls lowered their heads, looking saddened, something Uriel immediately noticed.
"I see… So, what brings you here today? I intended to visit you later, but it seems you beat me to it."
"It's about Prophet Yin. Ever since Chrom's fall was announced, he has been in a state where he seems to have no will. His eyes are open, but it's like he sees nothing. We're very worried. We wanted him to witness the world you made for us… but he's not aware of anything."
—Right, I had completely forgotten about Yin… The reason he hasn't awakened is obvious: he was an avatar of Chrom, and since I absorbed Chrom's soul, his essentially disappeared. Yin is now nothing but an empty shell. How should I tell them?
"However… I didn't think you knew Yin."
"We do. He's well known. He was in our village at one point. And after you left, we moved to Prophet Yin's city. When we learned you were the reincarnation of Nih, and since you had already been in our village, we volunteered to come speak with you because we knew you from before."
"So that's how it was. I understand… And I know the reason for Yin's condition."
"What?"
"Really?"
"Yes. His purpose in this world was to bring forth the prophecy of freedom and equality for all colorless species. And once the prophecy came true, his purpose was completed, and his soul returned to the All. He is not dead… he simply no longer needs a body. Yin no longer belongs to this world because he fulfilled his role better than anyone."
"So that's what it is…"
—I can't just tell them that the one who gave them hope was the same one who wanted to destroy them.
"I'll go to the town and retrieve him. I'll give his body a proper rest."
"All right."
"Stay here for today. Tomorrow we'll teleport to the town. So feel free to look around and make yourselves comfortable."
"C–can I stay with you a little longer?"
"We're going to take a walk around the Temple."
"Yes… we'll explore a bit."
"You can stay with me as long as you want."
The girl blushed. In her heart and mind, Uriel's words sounded like a proposal the kind lovers make before eventually marrying.
"T–thank you."
"Would you like to walk?"
"Uh, yes."
"Follow me, this way."
After some time walking and observing the surroundings, Uriel couldn't help but notice how tense Mila was—as if she wanted to say something.
—Maybe she wants to ask me to cure Yin like I did with Aeris… Even if it were possible, the only way would be altering his destiny with Daelvachor. And I'm not even sure it would work, since his soul's fate is also in my hands. And there's no way I would resurrect Chrom.
"You want to tell me something? Mila… you seem a little…"
"Um… yes, but I don't know if it's improper or disrespectful, considering you're the god of this world…"
"Go ahead. You can ask me anything without worry."
"Um… yes. I wanted to ask you something about Saint Aeris."
—I knew it… My deductive abilities are increasing a lot. Must be because I'm a god now, plus my high intelligence stats.
"Are you… dating Saint Aeris?"
—Huh?
"It's just that she always says you and she are united by an unbreakable bond."
"No… that's—"
—How do I explain this? Aeris is referring to my connection ability… Irresponsible of her, she should be clearer.
"It's true that we are united by an unbreakable bond, but we're not—"
"Lord Uriel!"
"What is it?"
"Priestess Netel has arrived. She seems to want to see you."
"Lord Urieeel!"
"Netel, it's you."
"Yes, my lord. I come to report that everything is going wonderfully in our temple. In fact, things are going so well that we need resources to build a new church or expand the current one. People have to gather outside because not everyone fits inside, and that cannot be. The roofs of Lord Uriel must shelter all who seek him. So I wanted your permission to modify or construct."
"You're doing good work."
"I am not worthy of your beautiful words, my god."
"Speak with Zerothiel or Aeris about it. Tell them to guarantee you the resources for constructing another church."
—Looks like everyone has turned into genuine sectarians.
"Thank you very much, my lord. You are so benevolent with everyone."
"It's nothing, Netel."
"By the way, who is she, my lord? I—if it doesn't bother you to tell me."
"Of course not. She is Mila, a good friend who helped me in the past."
"I understand. Thank you for helping our lord when he needed it, and thank you, my lord, for your generosity."
"It's nothing. I did it gladly—after all, he saved us."
Netel smiled at Mila with sparkling eyes and ran off with the same enthusiasm with which she'd arrived, her robe fluttering like an uncontrollable banner.
—I'm worried she'll fall. She really shouldn't run in that outfit.
Uriel and Mila turned to return to Uriel's hall. But just as they had taken two steps, a muffled squeal broke the silence, followed by a dull thud: pof!
Mila froze, and Uriel merely lifted an eyebrow without even looking back.
"Was that…?"
"Yes."
"Is she okay?"
"Probably not in dignity."
From the distance Netel's voice echoed:
"I—I'm fine! I just tripped on… on my own robe!"
Uriel sighed and shook his head while Mila smiled a little at Netel's clumsiness.
—She definitely needs an adjustment to her robe.
