Chapter 28 - He has a pregnant woman and he wants me to his lover..

The woman's belly was slightly bulging, looking like she was about three or four months pregnant.

Micheal was assisting her, his movements extremely careful.

What was this woman's relation to him?

The woman who called this morning?

I did not expect to stumble upon such a scene -- my mind is completely in chaos.

Instinctively, I did not want Michael to see me.

Trying to avoid him, I no longer cared about being subtle.

I decided to hide my head on Edwin's shoulder, leaning on him as we walked forward.

We were on one side of the corridor, Michael and the others on the other.

Even though we crossed paths, as long as I kept hidden well enough, Micheal would not notice me.

After all, we are not that familiar with each other.

Even if it was just a short distance, to me, it felt as if I had undergone the Long March of 25,000 kilometers.

By the time we reached the ward, even my legs were weak.

Damn it, why am I such a coward?

Why am I avoiding Micheal?!

Is it because I owe him money?

"I'll go and buy you some food.

Have some water first then rest.

A nurse will come to treat you soon -- call me if you need anything."

After Edwin finished speaking, he left.

I have to say, though Edwin may seem nonchalant on the surface, he's quite considerate.

After having a cup of hot water, I felt better and lay down on the hospital bed for a nap.

I didn't sleep well last night, coupled with the pain that had exhausted me, I was incredibly tired.

Steady, forceful footsteps sounded at the door, leading me to assume that a nurse had arrived.

I didn't open my eyes.

But after squinting for a while, I had a feeling that something was amiss.

Shouldn't the nurse be here to give me an IV?

Plus, the nurse's footsteps wouldn't sound like hard-soled shoes clacking.

Upon opening my eyes, I saw that it was Micheal standing beside me.

I could not read any emotions from his cold and aloof face, but I felt an intangible pressure.

"Why are you here?" I asked, instinctively retreating a bit.

Sure enough, he had found me!

Fine, let's play cowardly.

For some reason, I was afraid every time I saw Micheal.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

Micheal asked in his deep voice.

Was he showing concern for me?

His one sentence was enough to upset me.

But, I hate this feeling and despise my emotions being easily swayed by others.

Micheal was like an opium poppy with a fatal

attraction, making me feel a deadly danger.

I, a newly divorced woman, should stay away from a man like him.

With a cold face, I glanced at Michael, then spoke with indifference, "Whether I feel unwell or not is none of your business, right?

The creditor does not need to care about the debtor's health."

"But if you die now, who will pay me back?"

Micheal raised his eyebrows and said.

"Darn it, he's dead now, but I'm sure I will live a long life!"

"I told you, I'll definitely pay back the money.

If you have time, you better care more about your woman.

Don't come here and get in my way!"

"My woman?"

Michael took a good look at me from head to toe, looking at me suggestively.

To hell with him, I am not his woman!

Feeling like I had a ball of fire in my chest that

I couldn't vent, I yelled directly at Michael, "Both the woman in your room this morning and the pregnant woman you were just helping, you're about to become a dad and still mess around with other women, you are just a jerk!"

Micheal squinted his eyes and stared at me for a long time.

Such a gaze made me feel anxious.

Would he beat me up or ask me to pay back the money immediately?

The thought of it alone was making me tense.

After a while, Micheal suddenly bent down towards me.

His magnetic voice whispered in my ear.

"Are you jealous?"
