Valarie had been secretly transferred to a hospital in the Capital under a false identity. Kermit made sure only a handful of trusted people could access her, and even they had no idea who she really was or why she'd arrived in such a horrific condition. There was no way word would reach Bradley about her rescue.
The memory of finding her still haunted me. At first, I couldn't believe what I was seeing was actually human, much less Kermit' mate. How could Bradley sink to such depths of cruelty? How could someone be so completely heartless?
And Solace? An entire family had kept that girl locked away like a caged animal. These people had grandchildren of their own.
The trauma had clearly shattered her mind. I couldn't even begin to fathom the mental and physical agony she must have endured. Simply killing the Young wouldn't be enough justice for me. Bradley was the real monster in all of this, and now more than ever, I was determined to destroy him completely.
