Chapter 2 - Face reveal

l Chapter 2 - Face Reveal

I remember my lady—Enveting.

She was the kindest person I ever knew. She did everything I asked, even helped me sneak out of the house when my father was home.

Whenever he was around, no one dared to step outside. Even my little brother wasn't allowed to go to school. But Enveting always found a way. She was brave, gentle, and so talented—she even helped me study.

I really miss her. (crying inside)

I just hope she's safe… wherever she is.

"Are you awake?"

That voice.

Wait… that voice! It's him.

The entire room went silent. I could only hear the clock ticking—tick… tick… tick—and my own heartbeat pounding in my chest like it wanted to escape.

Then, footsteps.

He was coming closer.

My eyes widened as he entered.

Oh my god…

He was breathtaking. Golden-yellow hair that gleamed under the light, a sharp, handsome face, broad shoulders wrapped in a fitted suit—it almost didn't seem real.

I've never seen such a handsome mafia before… maybe because I was too busy dealing with my father's madness to notice anyone else.

But no matter what—

I'll never fall in love with a mafia.

"Good morning, Realiana," he said calmly. "Did you sleep well? Take a shower and come down for breakfast."

Wait—what?

"Why did you kidnap me?!" I shouted, my voice trembling.

He didn't even turn around.

Cold. Distant.

Just like every mafia man I'd ever imagined.

A soft knock came at the door.

"Are you done, ma'am?" a woman's voice asked.

"Two minutes, please!"

I looked around helplessly. "What should I wear? And why does every lady—Enveting—never tell me her name?"

I sighed. This was so embarrassing.

"Yes, ma'am," she said gently. "Here is your dress."

"Thanks…" My breath caught. "Wow, it's beautiful."

She helped me dress, fixed my hair, and guided me to the dining hall.

"Welcome, Realiana," he said, sitting at the head of the long table.

There were four men already there. I only recognized one of them.

The chef served breakfast, and everyone ate quietly.

I cleared my throat. "Mister… what's your name? Why am I here? What do you want from me?"

He looked up, amused.

"Oh dear," he said, "don't talk while eating."

Seriously?

He told me not to talk—and then laughed like a buffalo.

After breakfast, he finally decided to speak.

"Let me introduce you. This is Jack. That's Smith. This is Johsan. And me—my name is Leo."

Leo, huh? So his name is Leo…

"And this is our chief. This is our house," he added.

"Our house?" I frowned. "What do you mean our house? You told me your name, but not why I'm here! If you don't want anything from me, then just send me home!"

He turned to me, his eyes cold and sharp.

"Your house?" he repeated mockingly. "Oh, you have a house?"

His voice dropped to a dark tone. "From now on, this is your house. And I don't want any more questions."

My heart sank. I wanted to stay strong, but my eyes betrayed me. Tears streamed down my cheeks no matter how hard I tried to stop them.

He walked away, leaving me shattered.

"Hey, don't be a crybaby," a voice said softly behind me.

I turned around. "Who are you?"

He smiled faintly. "Leo told you, right? I'm Johsan."

Later, my lady—Enveting—took me back to my room.

The rest of the day passed quietly—just eating, sleeping, and thinking about escape.

After dinner, I tried to sleep… but I cou

ldn't.

Something felt wrong.

It was dark. Silent.

And yet—I could feel it.

Someone was watching me.
