"Marie gave me forty-eight hours," I continued to make her see reason
"And you were seriously considering it!" She jerks away, anger replacing tears. "Without even discussing it with me!"
"What's to discuss?" I stand, matching her anger. "If I can save you-"
"BY DYING?" She's yelling now, and Elliot looked up in alarm. "You think that saves me? You think I survive losing you?"
"You'd be alive-"
"I'd be destroyed!" She shoves me, her hands flat against my chest. "You don't get to make that choice! You don't get to decide what I can survive!"
I catch her wrists and hold them. "It's my life!"
"IT'S OUR LIFE!" She's crying again, fighting my grip. "When did that stop mattering to you? When did we become just you making decisions for both of us?"
