Teleportation Room.
Officially known as the Matter Transporter Room, it's the high-tech marvel of the Enterprise, unmatched by any other.
It can disassemble a person into an energy beam and then reassemble at the preset destination—it's some seriously advanced technology.
Hawk perfectly materialized the Enterprise, naturally including this Teleportation Room.
A clever, futuristic circular room.
The center is the teleportation platform, made up of a round pad that can transport six people at once.
"Enterprise."
"Sir."
After Hawk brought Gwen to stand on the teleportation platform and waited for Gamora to follow suit, he directly ordered.
"Teleport!"
"Understood."
"Buzz buzz buzz!"
Accompanied by the characteristic buzzing sound of the Teleportation Room, the flickering light began to disassemble, and the three on the platform transformed into points of light in an instant.
The next second!
The dots of light gathered and reassembled in the Fountain Garden on Ego Planet.
The reappearing Gwen instinctively raised her hands, glanced at them, and then looked at Hawk beside her.
"This teleportation feeling is amazing."
"Want to try it a few more times?"
Hawk smiled, gently teasing his wife who was all smiles for him.
Gwen smiled, shook her head, said forget it, and then looked around at the planetary scenery different from Sandaar Star.
Giant crystal clusters rose like forests.
In the distance, waterfalls made of pure energy cascaded silently down into the glimmering river below.
Everywhere the eye could see was colorful vegetation and forests.
"It's so beautiful here."
"Our future planet will be even more beautiful than this."
Hawk continued to speak with assurance to his wife, who was always on his mind.
Their eyes met.
Gwen looked at Hawk, who was full of her, and beamed brightly.
"I know."
"..."
Following them through the teleport, but feeling ignored, Gamora felt her skin prickling with goosebumps and an uncomfortable urge to leave.
I should be underground, not above ground.
Thankfully!
Just as Gamora was at a loss for what to do, Ego's spaceship broke through the atmosphere and landed steadily on the nearby landing pad.
Star-Lord, seeing Gamora get off first, ran towards her.
"Gamora, you…"
"Don't ask."
Seeing Star-Lord stepping down, Gamora breathed a sigh of relief and quickly went to his side, looking serious.
Elegantly, Ego stepped out of the spaceship.
"Madam Phoenix, how do you find the scenery on my planet? Worth the trip?"
"Your planet is beautiful, Mr. Ego."
"Thank you."
Ego graciously expressed his thanks and then led the group towards the uniquely styled palace not far away.
The palace interior was equally opulent.
One word.
Luxurious!
Two words.
Extravagance.
"I have no idea where I came from."
"Ever since I can remember, I've been alone, drifting alone amidst the flickering cosmos…"
As Ego explained, passing through holographic slides opening like eggshells, everyone, except Hawk and Gwen, learned about Ego being a 'Celestial God' and the whole process of how Ego and Star-Lord's mother met, grew close, fell in love, and conceived their love child.
Finally, Ego excitedly took Star-Lord to see the statue he built for Star-Lord's mother.
As for the others…
Unconcerned with the others, Hawk took Gwen to a specially prepared room with planetary features made by Ego.
Gwen stood on the balcony, gazing into the distance, and without turning back, called for Hawk.
Hawk went over, hugged Gwen from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder, and then followed her gaze.
In his view.
He saw Star-Lord before the Crystal Woman Statue, rubbing out a 'Spiral Ball', with Ego's face expressing uncontrollable excitement.
Ego's excitement was normal.
After all, Ego, who followed Zeus's example and sowed seeds across the cosmos, had Star-Lord as the only one who inherited his abilities.
You couldn't even call it one in a thousand miles; this was one in a million.
Hawk, watching this, seemed to think of something and whispered in Gwen's ear.
"Don't worry."
"Hmm?"
Gwen, puzzled, side-eyed Hawk.
Hawk smiled, saying, "Our children are born gods."
Gwen hearing this, chuckled softly.
"Shouldn't they be demigods?"
"What?"
"Their father might be a god, but their mother is a mortal, right?"
"..."
Hawk, listening to Gwen, followed her gaze to the Crystal Woman Statue made by Ego and realized why Gwen said this.
Just…
Hawk's lips curled up: "Darling, you don't still think you're mortal, do you?"
Gwen turned around in Hawk's arms, wrapped her arms around Hawk's neck, and looked at him with sparkling eyes.
"What do you mean, I'm no longer a mortal?"
"Of course, if I'm a god, then you're my goddess, Frigga to Odin, Hera to Zeus, and you're my Gwen!"
Hawk smiled brightly.
Gwen's smile was equally radiant.
"Frigga passed away, Hera's Zeus keeps having affairs. Hawk, what exactly are you implying?"
"..."
Hawk's smile stiffened.
Damn!
Careless.
Gwen looked at Hawk's stiff expression, her smile grew even brighter, though the inner irritation disappeared, and she said softly, "Sorry, I just thought of Star-Lord's mother, given brain cancer by Ego and still deceived by him. I wonder if Star-Lord can uncover Ego's plot."
Hawk heard her, his expression relaxed, and he hugged Gwen: "Don't worry, Ego will meet his deserved end."
Thanos is just a name.
But Star-Lord is genuinely his nemesis.
For his mother, he'd rather give up being a demigod, just to kill the scumbag Celestial God father who let her down.
In short,
Star-Lord is gutsy!
Hawk's thoughts raced as he felt his possibly pregnant and sentimental wife in his arms, his gaze thoughtful as he looked at Star-Lord near the statue.
Perhaps...
This time, could the demigod truly live up to the name?
Hawk raised an eyebrow.
The sun set in the west.
Ego Planet basked in the orange-red sunlight.
Hawk stood on the balcony, quietly embracing his newlywed wife, Gwen.
Similarly.
In another room, just understanding his demigod identity and reconciling with his father, Star-Lord, passing by Hawk and Gwen, also came to the balcony with Gamora, trying to embrace her.
But compared to the optimistic Star-Lord, raised by Thanos, educated in all sorts of schemes, Gamora was less optimistic.
Especially after realizing that she couldn't contact Rocket Raccoon, this uneasy feeling grew stronger.
First Hawk, who didn't need any protection to cross the cosmos and, with one move, wiped out a whole Sovellin drone fleet.
Now comes Ego, claiming to be a Celestial God.
The former is fine.
Even though Gamora sensed a sour, mysterious aura from Hawk and Gwen, she didn't feel any malice, not even the slightest hint.
But Ego...
For some reason, Gamora felt a strong sense of unease from her female intuition upon landing on this planet.
So...
While contemplating, Gamora accepted Star-Lord's sudden enthusiastic invitation to dance and quietly voiced her uneasiness.
Then...
"Earth is where I watched my mother die with my own eyes."
"No, only because life on Earth is real, whereas here, it's a fantasy."
"Here is reality; I only have half human blood, remember?"
"I'm worried about your other half."
"Oh, I see, you're jealous that the other half of my blood is from the God Race."
"..."
On their room's balcony, enjoying their delayed honeymoon with eyes closed, Hawk and Gwen slowly opened their eyes.
Hawk's expression was odd.
Gwen's ears perked up as she listened intently to the argument coming from a distant room, whispering.
"Hawk, do you know what the biggest surprise of this cosmic journey is?"
"I don't know."
"The fact that the cosmos speaks English, that's the biggest surprise."
"Good..."
"Shh!"
Before Hawk could speak, Gwen shushed him, listening attentively as the argument in the distant room neared its conclusion.
Hawk watched with a helpless smile and a shake of his head.
If Gwen paid as much attention to improving her hearing as she did to gossip, she might realize her hearing has already far surpassed that of an average mortal.
After all...
Their room was on the palace's far left, while Star-Lord and Gamora's room was on the far right.
But!
Hawk looked at his gossip-focused wife, not intending to alert her.
He wanted to see when Gwen would notice.
Soon enough.
Star-Lord and Gamora's argument ended with Star-Lord's "I'd finally found my family, why don't you understand" and Gamora's initially explosive but now calmly stated "You already have a family."
True heartbreak is never loud, it's calmly spoken.
So after speaking, Gamora turned and left the room, leaving Star-Lord alone.
The gossip eavesdropping over, Gwen blinked and, coming to, looked at Hawk, a little relieved.
"I'm really glad we've never argued over such matters."
"When have we ever fought?"
Hawk smiled slightly, then looked at Gwen: "Do you know what we ought to do next?"
Gwen beamed.
"You should get to work."
"Indeed."
"Go ahead, I don't like this place, the sooner the better."
"As you wish, madam."
"..."
