While Kael was in his mother's womb, the seasons were starting and ending one after another, and time was slowly moving forward.
After six months had passed, Kael's consciousness began to grow again as well.
Nine months had already passed since Kaelthar's soul had arrived in this universe, and in a very grand palace, a lady's screams echoed through the halls.
A pregnant woman lay struggling in bed, fighting to bring life into the world. Four maids were at her side, assisting her.
"My lady, it's almost over. Please endure a little more," one maid urged, her hands trembling with concern.
"Just a little more time, my lady," another added.
"My lady…!"
"Stay strong, my lady!"
The four maids moved in perfect coordination, each attempting to calm the mother while supporting her through the pain.
After what felt like an eternity, the woman's cries subsided. In the arms of one of the maids, a newborn boy slept peacefully, utterly calm.
The mother had fainted, and the worry and confusion on the maids' faces was easily understood. They fretted over both mother and child, for fainting during childbirth was uncommon, and the baby's unwavering stillness seemed unnatural.
The infant had not cried; he had simply slept through the ordeal, silent and almost uncannily still. At first, the maids feared he was dead, but after careful examination, they realized he was merely sleeping. This strange tranquility was what had caused their earlier confusion.
Even in this world, being born and remaining entirely motionless—even in the first moments of life—was no simple thing. Yet, because of the child's father, the maids dared not voice their questions.
After ten minutes, the mother began to stir.
"Nnngh… my baby." Those were the only words in her mind, and the waves of worry, fear, anxiety, and joy that had overwhelmed her during unconsciousness subsided as she saw her child sleeping peacefully.
The head maid spoke quietly.
"Congratulations, my lady. It is a boy."
The mother's eyes sparkled with relief, longing to hold her newborn. She gestured to the head maid.
"Can I hold him?"
The maid nodded quickly.
"Of course, my lady." Slowly and carefully, she placed the baby in the mother's arms.
Cradling her child, the mother's face radiated warmth as she gazed down at him. "I will name you Kaelthar. Be as calm and peaceful as you are now when you grow up.
Do not seek out fights or wars, and always protect yourself."
The head maid, moved by the sight of mother and child, hesitated but spoke.
"My lady, forgive my boldness, but may I suggest that you have an appraiser or healer examine Kaelthar?"
The mother listened intently as the maid continued.
"You fainted during the birth, so you may not know, but he has slept continuously since arriving into this world. He has not cried or made a sound. There may be reasons for this, and I suggest we check him before anything serious occurs."
Seeing the seriousness in the maid's eyes, the mother nodded. It was wise to ensure the child had no complications before anything irreversible could happen.
She looked at the Head maid and then said while pointing at the baby,
"You can leave and take him with you to his room and make sure to wrap a quilt around him."
Hearing this the maids bowed respectfully to her and then left with baby and left her alone.
"Yes, my lady"
After making sure nobody was close enough to hear or see what was happening inside.
She made a small hand gesture, and instantly a woman clad in tight, black clothing—resembling an assassin's suit—appeared.
"Give me your orders, my lady."
The mother's gaze was serious and cold.
"Fetch the family's appraisal master. I want this to be done quietly, and make sure he speaks no word of it. Treat this task as if your life depends on it."
The woman bowed and nodded.
"Yes, my lady."
While all of this unfolded, a pair of brown eyes opened, the newborn Kael unsure of the world around him. Confused, he tried to speak.
(Where am I? Didn't I die? Wait, did I get reincarnated?!!?)
"Agu gu gu… Agu? Agu? Agu gu?"
Hearing the sounds he made, he realized he had been reborn as a baby. Yet, everything felt unreal, leaving him questioning everything. Slowly, as his mind adjusted, he became calmer and began assessing the situation, gradually accepting the strange reality.,
He was observing the room, looking at the walls and the roof was adorned with gold.
(So I really did get reincarnated, huh? And it seems I'm in a wealthy family if you just look at this wall and roof.)
As Kael observed the room, the maid noticed he had awoken and quickly run off and informed the head maid.
"Madam, the young lord is awake now."
To Kael, her words were still gibberish. Yet a notification panel appeared:
[Understanding of the Velharan (Empire version) language has increased]
[You are closer to mastering Insight Vision]
(Huh? What is this panel? And this Velharan language? Wait… so not only did I get reincarnated, but into another world too?)
As he focused, he could make out a few words: "Young," "lord," and "awake."
(And what is this Insight Vision…? If I remember the sensation…)
When he attempted to use Insight Vision, the scenery transformed, leaving him speechless. Particles sparkled everywhere—was it magic? Or energy itself?
He scanned the room, noticing details he would never have seen before:
[Cradle: Made from Silvershade Birch. Specially commissioned by the Duke of Ashton for his soon-to-be-born child.]
[A baby toy, intricately crafted…]
[Quilt, soft and woven for a newborn…]
The Duke Ashton? Hmm is that my father? Well I would think about this later.
Then he looked at another notifications that were appeared when he looked at the particles.
[Understanding of the energy increased.]
[You are closer to mastering Insight Vision.]
(So that's energy… And If I master this so called Insight Vision, maybe I'll see things I couldn't before. And it seems it works for everything… but what if I used it on myself?)
As he contemplated this, Kael felt the familiar sensation of Insight Vision coursing through him prepared to use it on himself...
