With Asmodeus finally neutralized, the coalition celebrated.
The sanctuary threw a massive party—all species, all allies, celebrating a hard-won victory. Music played, food was shared, beings who'd been enemies decades ago danced together.
"We did it," Wei said, raising a glass. "After years of that bastard causing problems, he's finally dealt with."
"To victory," Adrian toasted. "And to Marcus, who died protecting it."
The party continued into the night, everyone needing the release after months of tension.
Adrian found Kieran on a balcony, watching the celebrations.
"Not joining the party?" Adrian asked.
"Needed a moment. Thinking about everything we've accomplished." Kieran pulled Adrian close. "Six years ago, you were a confused newly-turned vampire. Now you're powerful enough to defeat demon lords, wise enough to lead coalitions, strong enough to carry the weight of thousands of lives."
"I had help. I had you."
"We had each other. That made all the difference." Kieran kissed him softly. "Want to leave the party? I have other ways I'd like to celebrate."
"Oh? What did you have in mind?"
"Let me show you."
They slipped away to their private quarters, the sounds of celebration fading as they focused on each other.
