Chapter 50 - A Long Night

"…A movie?" She asked.

"Yes."

"What type of movie?''

"…What about horror? It's adventurous."

"H-horror?"She asked, but she didn't want to admit that she got scared while watching intense scenes.

He saw the tension on her face, smirked a little, and teased her.

"Why…You scared?"

"N-no! I am not…'' She replied quickly.

"Okay, then. Let's watch it…'' He said, turning on the TV, putting the tape in, and then sat on the couch next to her.

She sat, pretending not to be scared, but her brows gave her away.

They furrowed with every opening scene.

This was just the beginning.

Si-Hun was casually leaning against the couch while she was sitting a little tense.

They stayed like that till the movie started to get scarier.

Ghosts and suspense.

There was a scene that was already horror, and she was hiding her face with her small hands, peeking through her fingers.

Suddenly, there was a jumpscare.

She was a little startled, and slowly…snuggled a little closer to Si-Hun.

His breath hitched as he saw her a little closer to him.

The movie continued.

There was tension again, and she didn't want to be startled again.

She looked at Si-Hun, moving her head just a little so she could look at his face through the corner of her vulnerable eyes.

"Si…Si-Hun?"

"Hmm?" He murmured, looking at her directly.

She quickly peeked away, then peeked again.

"C-can I…come just a little closer…? I-I'm not scared…I'm just, uhh, cold…" She asked him, clearly scared.

Si-Hun's eyes softened, looking at her like that, and his heart melted at his question.

This was one of the most innocent and sincere requests she had made to him.

"Su..sure." He replied, a little flustered.

The movie continued, and during the movie, she kept subconsciously drifting closer until her shoulder was brushing his.

He gasped softly at the moment, unnoticed by her.

"What is she doing…?" He thought.

And right then, a small jumpscare came, and she drifted closer, and then he felt it…

Her warm hand brushes against his side.

She was subconsciously fidgeting with his shirt.

He froze, and his heart stopped for a second.

"Sh…she's so close…" He thought, hesitating even in his mind.

His body stiffened a little, but he tried not to be bothered.

Just then, a really scary and unexpected scene hit the screen.

This made her jump slightly and hide her face in his arm.

His ears turned faint red, and he almost forgot to breathe, looking at how close she was to him without even realizing it.

"What…is she doing!?" His mind was surprised by her action.

She slightly pulled back and realized what she was doing.

"Ahh…I-I'm sorry! I just…go carried away by the movie…I-it's scary…I admit." She said, biting her lower lip.

His eyes softened immediately.

He didn't want to push her away.

"I-it's fine, really…" His ears were still red, and so were her cheeks, all heated up and burning.

The movie continued, and it was getting boring in the end.

She was still that close to him, but of course didn't hide her face in his sleeve.

He…kind of liked it.

"Her sweater…it looks uncomfortable." He thought, looking at her sweater, which was a little stringy and seemed to be uncomfortable to wear to sleep.

"Hey…isn't that sweater a little uncomfortable for you?" He asked, trying to keep his voice composed.

"Y-yeah…it is a little uneasy." Her voice was soft at his question….he noticed her getting uneasy in the sweater.

"…If you want, I...could give you any of my shirts? O-only if you're comfortable…" He asked, a little hesitantly.

She blushed at his question, but smiled softly, not meeting his gaze.

"You're fine doing that?"

"Yeah."

"Th-thanks…'' She said, pressing her lips in a thin line.

His heart raced a little faster at that.

"She agreed. She trusts me this much…She plays with her lips whenever she's nervous. So obvious." He thought, reluctant as he got up and went to his room.

He looked at the bed; it was neat.

Only a few crinkles, which were probably here after she left.

Whereas she, on the couch, was literally flustered to the bone seeing him care like that.

He opened his wardrobe and looked for any hoodie.

His eyes went to the black hoodie he liked very much.

"This is big…but it should keep her warm." He said, voice low.

He took it and closed the door behind him.

"Here…this might be a little big, but it should keep you warm. You can change in the room." He said.

"Thank you…Si-Hun." She said, glancing up at him before leaving.

She changed in his room.

She felt weird changing in his room, all in a new space, but she trusted him…He made her through his actions.

He had a pure heart if actually considered…just pressed down by the world.

He waited for her on the couch, thinking if she is comfortable changing or if something's bothering her.

He thought for her as someone close, and he didn't know why he couldn't bear seeing her sad.

She felt small in the hoodie and looked at her reflection in the mirror after changing.

"This is too big…and it, too, smells like him…"

The hoodie reached a little above her knees, and the sleeves covered her hands, leaving only her fingertips exposed.

She came out of the room and stood in front of him, biting her lower lip, again.

He stopped breathing for a few seconds, his ears red as he looked at her small frame in his large hoodie.

"I-it is a little loose…but it's more comfortable." He said, trying to keep his voice steady even when her vulnerability was making him feel something different.

He had never been close to a woman…not this close.

She looked so small.

Obviously, her small body wouldn't fit into his large hoodie.

She sat in her place again.

Just like before, her being a scaredy cat, she was close to him, pretty close.

Her shoulder was brushing his hard one.

He was warm too, and that warmth made her eyes finally grow heavy.

Slowly, she dozed off.

Her head was down, but as he shifted a little, she hit his shoulder lightly.

His breath hitched softly.

"S-she slpet here…What am I supposed to do!?" He said, panicking.

He wasn't sure of what to do, so he just stayed as still as he could manage so he wouldn't wake her up.

Her hair was falling over her shoulders and brushing his side too.

He looked at her lashes, which were resting on her cheeks.

It made his heart tighten a little.

Her breathing was soft and slightly unsteady, her lips slightly parted.

She looked so innocent and pulled.

She was making him feel things no one else did, even in her sleep, and it made his heart melt a little.

He had never been this soft for anyone, but his breathing, his talking style, his control, they melted when he was with her.

"She looks so…innocent." He muttered to himself.

"I don't want to move…What if I touch her the wrong way…? But she cannot stay like this the whole night. I…can't bring myself to carry her to the bedroom." He whispered, voice low and slightly trembling.

She was relying on him.

While in her sleep, her hand was brushing his thigh, and it was making his heart race, and his Adam's apple bobbed.

His hand trembled slightly, keeping it away from her so he wouldn't touch her the wrong way.

Even sleeping, she was gripping the fabric of his trousers.

It made him look at her to see if she was in any discomfort.

"She won't have a good sleep here on the couch."

He said, thinking of what to do when he remembered something…

He had his telekinesis, so he could lift her in the air without waking her up and carry her to the bed without touching her.

"Yes…Finally," He said as he used his ability to lift her small frame.

He quietly carried her to the bed, where he carefully lay her down and covered her with the blanket.

She shifted slightly but didn't wake up.

Her hair fell over her face, getting near her mouth.

He noticed…of course.

He leaned in a little and slowly brushed the few strands of hair away from her face.

Her cheeks were warm and slightly pink.

"Sh'e…She's cute…" He whispered to himself.

He quickly pulled his hand away when he realized how close he was to her.

"W-what am I doing?" He said as he leaned back.

He saw her one last time before going out and closing the door softly behind him.

He lay on the couch and closed his eyes, but his mind kept replaying the moments that just happened, and her softness was melting something inside him.

The night passed like that, slow and burning with something neither of them could name yet.
