Chapter 10 - Hey Master, I'm Kuro!

"Yes, you will earn your powers when you level up."

"But, how will I level up?"

"Every time you gain experience by anything, whether it's killing monsters or human bastards, or when you make an honorable decision. After you are capable enough physically and mentally, I, will train you."

"Killing humans..?"

"Well, not someone innocent. You will know who you have to kill."

"Whenever you gain experience, you will level up depending on what you spent your energy on, mental or physical experience."

"And when you have extra experience gems, you can save them for later use in anything, an increase in a specific ability, or a whole new ability, but that would take more xp."

"This whole thing's... too confusing."

"You'll learn."

"But, how am I gonna go back to my world?"

"Haha. You want to go back now?"

"Uhh, yeah, my parents must be wondering where I am."

"Don't worry, you will be on Earth at the same time you left from there."

"You're full of surprises."

"I know."

Click.

With one click of Eravus's fingers, Si-Hun was back to Earth.

"What is... happening to me, man?"

"All of this is so… unreal. This monarch, ancient stuff. This feels so unreal. And about the XP thing, how will I gain that?"

Obviously, all of this was strange and somewhat unreal for a human to witness.

Si-Hun saw that it was the same time he left from here and one more strange thing… his phone was back in his pocket.

"GOSH. All of this is so unpredictable!"

Si-Hun went home after that.

It was now to be a new beginning for him.

Si-Hun sits in the corner of his bed, his hands on his knees.

He was thinking about what he witnessed.

He was lost in thought when he had an idea to help clear his confusion.

"I could try searching about ancient Egypt."

With that, Si-Hun turned on his computer.

He searched for "ancient gods in Egyptian History."

There were many results, but one website stood out.

He opened the link and read the details.

As he read it, a few things made sense.

He read about the two ancient gods in Egypt, though their names were not the same, he still figured that they both referred to Eravus and Abriyon.

The story connected to the one Eravus told Si-Hun.

The article mainly said how, in ancient times, Egyptians worshipped two gods.

The two gods were said to be the creation of human mistakes.

Egyptians were polytheists, and they believed in many gods.

They made many sacrifices, thinking that the god would be pleased, but one day, some portals started appearing in Egypt and around the world.

The Egyptians thought that they had done something that was unpleasant to their gods, so they offered many sacrifices, of animals and literally humans(the peasants).

They thought the sacrifices would please their gods, but that didn't do anything.

The portals rather increased in numbers.

It was after that day that this became one of the reasons the Egyptians declined because they didn't know how to fight off the creatures in the portals.

But now, as humans evolved, they eventually got to know who could fight those creatures–predators.

Reading all of this made sense to Si-Hun.

He already knew what the world didn't know.

He knew he had the power to save humanity.

Si-Hun turned his computer off and lay down on his bed.

He wanted to relax from everything; there were still so many unanswered questions.

Si-Hun almost dozed off, but he was startled when someone called his name.

"What was that?"

"Hello, master!" Si-Hun flinched.

"W-who are you!?"

"Master didn't tell you about me?"

"Master? What master?"

"Eravus. He sent me to you. From now on, I will be your shadow and guide you since you're not familiar with what's happening. I will also handle your XP and advise you where to use it efficiently."

"Ohh, but couldn't you come without scaring the shit out of me!?"

"Haha, sorry!"

"You didn't tell me your name."

"You didn't tell me YOURS too."

"Fine. I'm Han Si-Hun."

"I am Kuro, and you are my master Si-Hun!"

Kuro seemed to have a bubbly personality with hints of sarcasm, the opposite of Si-Hun.

"As I told you, master, I will keep track of your progress and tell you when you have to go on any quest. I would like to tell you that you have to go on a quest tomorrow."

"A quest? tchh!?"

"It is a practice drill where you would have to fight demons, and you will gain XP like that. As your XP increases, the demons would be according to your level or even higher."

"Ughh, as if the portal fights were less."

"I wanted to tell you that I would go everywhere with you."

"Even in the bathroom?" Si-Hun asked, chuckling.

"Yes master."

Si-Hun choked on the water he was drinking.

"Are you out of your mind!? Why would I want you to see me pissing!?"

"Ohh, you got it wrong master. I would stand outside the bathroom to keep an eye nearby."

"GOSHH! Couldn't you be more clear about that? You are already driving me nuts. How will I keep up with you!?"

"You will have to, master," Kuro said, smiling.

Just then, Si-Hun's mom entered his room.

"I've been calling you for like an hour! Get down and eat your breakfast."

Si-Hun panicked, worried if his mom had seen Kuro, but he was relieved when he didn't.

"Don't worry master, she cannot see me. I'm all yours."

"Why are you talking like that!?"

"Who the hell are you talking to?"

"N-no one mom."

"You really are going crazy."

"I'll be at the table. You can go."

"Fine."

With that, she left.

"Why the heck were you speaking like you were my girlfriend!?"

"Wait- you don't have one?"

"No, I don't!"

"Oh, haha. It's ok, you will get one someday." Kuro said, smiling, but he sounded more sarcastic to Si-Hun.

"I don't even want one."

"Okayy. No need to be angry."

"Gosh, he looks like he wants one!" Kuro murmured.

"I heard that!"

"Oops! Sorry!"

Si-Hun got to know him and the day passed.

It was the next day.

Si-Hun had a practice quest today.

"So.., master, are you ready to enter the gate?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. You just have to say "Ascend."

"Okay."

"Ascend."

After he said it, there was a portal that was unlike the portals that normally spawn.

A faint purple glow twisted in the air — silent, calm… and yet, something about it promised chaos.
