"Really... what's going on!"
Renedia hoisted the Mechanical Hammer onto her shoulder and cast an annoyed glance at Pearl. Just as she was about to continue berating him, she heard the booming sound of a shell exploding, and the violent wind whipped up her pink hair.
A shell was hurtling towards her, while on the side deck, a Navy Captain aimed a cannon barrel at her, smoke billowing from its muzzle.
"Master Renedia!"
Gin exclaimed in shock, wanting to act but it was too late. The shell was already about to hit Renedia's face.
Such a small body, if it were hit by a cannonball...
A small hand pressed against the rapidly flying shell, its palm emitting a surge of sparks and electricity, coiling around the shell.
"Power Stop."
The shell halted in Renedia's small hand, it did not explode nor fall.
The force of power, besides accelerating impacts, can also reverse brake against forces applied from other directions.
The activation and flight of a shell also require energy; by counteracting this energy in reverse, the shell's momentum can be nullified. Even if the shell is activated, it won't explode unless it suffers a severe collision.
And it won't even fall.
Renedia's strength certainly couldn't hold a shell with one hand — it's too heavy — but she could reverse brake the descending force and achieve a brief suspension.
If she didn't have this control ability, she wouldn't be able to manage the massive Death Star.
"No sneak attacks, damn it!"
Renedia released her hand that stopped the shell, grasped the Mechanical Hammer with both hands, and slammed it forward fiercely, "Powerful Home Run!"
Bang!!
The shell was struck by the hammer's blow. The accelerated power sent the shell back even faster than before, slammed the Navy Captain with the cape, and exploded in a cloud of smoke.
"Tekkai!"
With a roar from within the smoke, as it dissipated, the Navy Captain stood firm, the shell explosion only damaged his clothing and the cannon weapon, though blood did flow, he could still stand.
"I am a Navy Headquarters Colonel, known as 'Iron Cannon' Wengka, you inherently evil little brat, I must..."
"Powerful Whack-a-Mole!"
Renedia twisted the hammer handle, and the electric sparks conducted on the handle caused it to extend rapidly. She lifted the long hammer high and fiercely struck the Navy Captain's head, and with the power of propulsion, the hammerhead slammed down swiftly and heavily, driving him into the deck, penetrating the entire ship and slamming into the seabed.
"Whatever tekkai, I've knocked it down many times!"
Renedia bared her little tiger teeth and shot a fierce look at Pearl who was getting up, "Hey, Pearl?!"
"Y-yes!" Pearl's body snapped to attention, responding instinctively.
Tekkai's defensive power is indeed commendable, as it's capable of blocking lead bullets. This Navy Captain could even withstand the power of cannonballs, indicating he had trained well.
But personal defense is personal defense, and the strength of the ship is the ship's strength.
Whether one can be knocked down is hard to say, but blasting them away, Renedia can easily achieve.
At most, it's like striking a steel whack-a-mole — just blast it down.
When Pearl trained tekkai, it was how Renedia knocked Pearl away, and then subordinates would dive to retrieve him. When facing tekkai users, this move is best.
"Oh dear, Renedia should be careful, if the ship is damaged, it will take in water." Marika smiled gently at her from a distance, meanwhile swinging an iron rod against an approaching Navy member's head, a dull thud sounded, a dent appeared on the Navy member's skull, and he collapsed.
"Ah!"
Renedia called out, sweeping away the Navy ahead with a hammer, rushing over and peering into the hole, she turned back pitifully, "It's taking in water..."
"Then we need to finish the fight quickly." Marika said with a grin, swinging another rod downwards, breaking the Navy member's sword, hitting their chest directly and causing a dent.
Only that the iron rod in her hand started bending under constant strikes.
"Is there nothing tougher? Rather than fighting with my hands, I prefer cooking." Marika tossed the iron rod, scanning around, heading towards a fallen knife in front.
Bang!
A sharp sound echoed around, Marika's ears twitched, her bent posture instantly straightened, leaving a hole in the deck.
Marika turned to see a frail Navy Captain squatting by the rail of the warship, holding a long gun distinct from the standard flintlock rifles, aiming at her.
"Oh, is it the officer of the warship?" Marika smiled.
"Marika! The officer of the Disaster Pirates!"
The frail Navy Captain said gravely, "I can't let you keep fighting."
Bang!
He pulled the trigger again, the muzzle erupting with a swift afterimage, shooting towards Marika.
Marika's pupils contracted, instinctively grabbing a knife from the ground, instantly blocking her front.
Clang!
Sparks flew, scattering Marika's waterfall-like black hair, a small hole blasted through the side fringe, severed strands fell onto the deck, and the afterimage pinned into the ship's railing behind, making another crisp sound.
The knife blade was chipped, a crack extending from the gap, breaking the blade.
Marika turned to look and saw pinned to the railing, a still-smoking bullet.
