It has been a month since Dorian last received his attribute. He has practised his attributes and his body to be better adjusted for the entrance. Dorian has learnt various applications of his attribute.
"Come, Dorian, we could reach there in about 5 days."
"Yes, I'm coming"
Today's the day that the entrance exam for Canon University will officially start. Several young people from the entire country will be present. Each one of these young people has different attributes. The most talented and the hardest-working will all be present.
Even though Dorian could teleport using his attribute, walking is a more natural thing to do. Besides, he doesn't want to make it a habit. If it becomes a habit, Dorian would be the laziest person in two worlds.
Dorian and his father were the only ones who came to the entrance. It was because it would take 5 days to more than a week to reach the Canon University. They were accompanied by Flint Grey's merchant business bodyguards. These bodyguards were Rank 1 Ascenders themselves. There were no Rank 2 Ascenders.
Rank 2 Ascenders.
Rank 2 Ascenders would be the elites of the kingdom. 10 Rank 1 Ascenders can't take on a single Rank 2 Ascender in combat. Not only for combat, but any attribute scales along with Rank.
These bodyguards were several times stronger than Dorian. The strength and the time it takes for a rank is an exponential graph.
Dorian's father, Flint Grey, obviously had a lot of rank 2 combat power for his merchant business. There were no rank 2 bodyguards here because the king's guard had cleared the roads. The royal army has cleaned the roads of any goblin infestation.
The roads towards the Canon Academy were peculiar.
There were several lush forests along the roads. Dorian saw animals that he would never have even seen in his old world. In the lush forest, occasionally from the window, Dorian would see bizarre animals. Large blue monkeys, which were as tall as a single-story house. Rainbow colored horses with a single horn on their heads.
These bizarre animals did not bother to approach the wind-carriage. It was the same reason why the safari jeeps in Dorian's old home were not immediately attacked by the lions. It was due to their perception of the vehicle as a large, non-threatening entity, their learned aversion to humans, and the safety measures in place during such rides.
Other than the lush forest, the wind-powered carriage would pass through the beautiful, long oceans where the roads were built on top of the sea.
If this were in the era of the Great War, the oceans would be a battlefield from relentless attacks from the other continent. But the human continent expanded far beyond just the lands. There was a large portion of the oceans which were protected by humans.
Though Dorian did not see any aquatic life, he knew that large creatures were lurking below the roads in the depths of the ocean.
Sometimes the wind-powered carriage would pass through deserts. The huge cactus, one-eyed rats and purple snakes. These purple snakes were poison factories, insanely dangerous if provoked.
Dorian knew about most of these animals when he had read the books. But reading and actually witnessing these creatures was a different experience.
"Dorian, look over there"
Dorian looked at the view from the window of the wind-powered carriage. There he saw a city. In this old world, this would be called a skyline.
"We've arrived, Dorian."
The buildings and the entire city were truly extraordinary. Even Dorian was amazed by the architectural marvel of the entire city. This was not just the place where Canon Academy was located, but it was also the place where many headquarters of government headquarters were located. This was the city which never slept.
After some checks at the entrance, the wind-powered carriage finally entered the city. After grabbing breakfast at one of the restaurants, Dorian and his father set out for the Canon Academy.
The Canon Academy was like a palace with many towers and turrets. The Academy was built a thousand years ago. Several figures have been born from the building that was larger than Dorian's entire vision. The castle was large. The grounds were even larger. It was thousands of meters wide.
The area for the Canon Academy seemed like a city.
There were several other wind-powered carriages, water-powered and different carriages infront of the Academy Gates.
Several young men and women were stepping out of their carriages.
The academy gates opened, and the entrance aspirants rushed towards the gate. There is a belief in the world that people who come late can't succeed in their given tasks.
But Dorian was the only one who didn't actually rush through the gates like others. Dorian looked at his father and waved at him.
"Bye, father, when I come through the gates again. I'll have to pass the entrance"
"You will, son. I'll be staying at the nearby hotel for your entrance."
After Dorian gave his last goodbyes to his father, then and only then did he pass through the gates. There were several diverse people from all the various regions and lands, awaiting the entrance to start.
While waiting, Dorian could hear the chatters and whispers of some people.
"That is Clair. She was often called the smartest of our entire generation before she was an Ascender. And now she's obtained an attribute that further enhances her intelligence. She will a 100% will pass through the entrance exam"
"You should also look at Wallace. He's the grandson of the current king. Everybody is talking about him. He apparently acquired a super overpowered attribute"
"I think Raihan will also be selected. Raihan won the Non-Ascender Martial Arts tournament by beating adults several years older than him. Adding on top of his attribute, he's the favourite"
Dorian heard all the gossip and whispers of the several participants. There were several names of high figures who've made a name for themselves before becoming an Ascender. He's obviously heard about these people; these people were extremely popular among the youth everywhere.
Though he does not care, he does feel interested in actually witnessing their abilities and attributes in the entrance.
Suddenly, a voice resounded through the entire grounds.
In the stage, there was an old man.
He shouted: "Welcome, Everyone. I am the director of the Canon Academy"
"All of you Ascenders have achieved attributes and more than that, possess qualities that you have come to test and apply for the most prestigious Academy in the world."
The crowd of young people cheered; they were very excited for the entrance to start. The young people couldn't wait for the entrance.
"But first, I want you to sign the papers we will provide"
Instantly, a paper and a pen were floating infront of Dorian. It appeared out of thin air and was see-through to some extent.
The content of the papers was simple. It was stipulated that the participants would not encourage and try to disparage the name of the Academy, would not discriminate against any of the other entrance takers and would not discuss related topics.
Several of the entrance takers signed the paper without even reading what was written on it.
But at the end, there was a line.
[The Canon Academy is not responsible for any injuries or deaths of any of the participants during the entrance exam.]
Dorian smiled when he saw this.
'Omnious, you think that'll scare me'
Dorian also signed the paper without any hesitation.
