I spent the night in my room, a lousy congested room with two cots, one above the other and only one usable. There's nothing else, literally nothing else. I laid there staring at the other cot until I heard the noises outside. It was too early, but it worked for me. As I opened the door, I was met with knights marching on the hallway. Some knights were in full blue armour, some in half armour, and grey gambesons and no pants just tooling around.
"What's going on," I wondered aloud.
A knight stopped and glanced at me, "The Wizard would be back today."
Well, that was quite unfortunate, the knight continued on his way to the bath house. If he was returning it would be us first who would be questioned. I quickly slammed the door behind and walked north, I skipped the bath and went straight to the armoury, where I pulled the pair of vambraces and strapped it around my wrists. I wore the other pieces as I tramped to the North Wing, where the elves were already in act.
"Right on time, Harth-"
"The wizard returns, I know."
"They would expect us to be there."
I nodded viciously acknowledging the treat he tried to draw. I just spotted Helion walking around with another gnome. Gabrel noticed it and turned.
"No, no…"
"Alright, Helion?" he shouted. "'Helion, right?"
"That's right, Gabrel," Helion answered. "This is my friend, Brix. Brix Bregt"
"Hello Brix, have seen you in ships."
"You sure did, I maintain them."
"Did you hear-" Helion started.
"Yes, the Wizard…"
"Better hurry, a counsellor was looking for you."
The elves glanced at each other.
"And talking about the counsellor-"
"No," we used the opportunity like a snap, to escape from him, the hall already had some members, the path between the hall and the other two wings was flooded with knights.
We waited, the wizard was arriving in a sea ship as per the elf which was on the East side of the middle land. The south door opened, the counsellor arrived waving his robe, flattering the servants around him. The counsellors also followed behind. There were six of them in total, there were nine chairs arranged around us, I took a seat with them in a very respectful manner. Every eye shifted to me, I took my butt off and stood with the elves. We were approached by the counsellors who jumped to their feet as the trumpet rang outside. I held my hands and stood tight, the gate opened and a group of knights marched in.
The trumpets rose, the birds sung, colourful petals spattered through the door in the form of beautiful flies. The wizard strode through them in his long clothes and elegant beard. The knights climbed the bleachers and marched the first two rows. The counsellor started to greet the wizard, the last one snapped his figures and called a group of young men who were chosen as the potential successors of the deceased. He greeted the wizard and went on to introduce the candidates, but was stopped by the wizard's sway. The trumpets stopped followed by the silence.
"Thy may meet Orzhmen," the wizard broke it straight. There were murmurs and discussions. He didn't receive a reply, neither acknowledgement or a counter statement. He ended the meeting abruptly and walked through the other door. The counsellor and the candidates dodged from his way. The crowd burst, the discussions got nastier, some were angry, some were baffled, some started to fight for no reason.
A loud burst interrupted everyone, the doors flung wide, a small creature came rolling from it and fell before us. Helion. The whole hall stared through the door as it slowly closed back.
