Chapter 436 - Chapter 141: The Mystery of Ian and the Black Phoenix (Part 4)

Nicolas Flamel, after another misunderstanding, blew his beard and glared at Albus Dumbledore.

"Of course, I believe in your abilities, there's no doubt about that." Albus Dumbledore quickly nodded and smiled appeasingly. Nicolas Flamel is someone whose emotions need to be taken care of at his age.

After all.

The older you get, the more like a child you become.

This is reflected in many old wizards.

"You heard that, didn't you, little one? Your headmaster knows my capabilities best. Come find me during your free time, I'll give you some private tutoring."

Nicolas Flamel only glanced at the parchment on the ground, and he already understood Ian's achievements in alchemy. He started to feel glad that he came to Hogwarts as an entertainer.

"Yes, yes! I'll definitely come to see you!"

Ian was also quite happy.

Although he could consult Teacher Morgan about alchemy, opportunities for that only unlocked periodically. Having the greatest alchemist of the century available to consult at any time is, of course, a good thing.

"I actually have more than just the Magic Stone; I have other treasures too. If your learning progress satisfies me, once I kick the bucket, I'll leave them all to you!" Nicolas Flamel was quite pleased. He looked at the broken Magic Stone and began motivating Ian to study more.

This was clearly different from the empty promises Ian often made to the Dementors.

"That machine cannot be given to him."

Suddenly.

Albus Dumbledore reminded Nicolas Flamel with some concern.

"What machine?"

Ian looked curiously at the old headmaster.

"Some evidence of Nicolas's past crimes."

Albus Dumbledore clearly didn't want to elaborate.

However.

Upon hearing his somewhat vague explanation, Nicolas Flamel became slightly displeased. He first glared at Albus Dumbledore, then explained to the little wizard.

"It's really just a metal processor, capable of making some toys that might draw the Ministry of Magic's attention." Nicolas Flamel tried to salvage his image.

But even he couldn't find a better way to phrase it.

"A money printing machine?"

Ian showed off his innate intelligence.

"An illegal money printing machine."

Albus Dumbledore sighed heavily, correcting Ian's wording.

"The Ministry of Magic and those elves can't tell the difference. Besides, I've never used it..." Nicolas Flamel's tone seemed somewhat lacking in confidence.

Ian could even sense the other party's guilty conscience.

He thought of the five million gold Galleons bet Nicolas Flamel casually proposed.

Some things seemed to become much clearer.

"Professor, you've been hiding in the wall's secret compartment for so long, you must be hungry. Should we go to the kitchen to grab a bite? I know some of the house-elves' creations are really delicious."

"And we can also discuss... ask you some questions about alchemy." Ian immediately decided to show his diligence.

"There's still some mess to deal with."

Nicolas Flamel wasn't tempted by food. He gestured towards Voldemort's corpse with his mouth, "If this corpse isn't handled properly, the Dark Arts on it could harm many people. You're not a magical creature, but this corpse is a product of biological alchemy."

Nicolas Flamel's skills are indeed very impressive, with little exaggeration. Even without close contact or examination, he was able to determine that Voldemort's body came from alchemy at a glance.

"He used alchemy to create a body for himself?"

Ian was also quite curious.

However.

Just as he was about to step forward to take a closer look, Albus Dumbledore stopped him.

"It's even scarier than that. I think you're curious about how Voldemort could revive and why he did so. I'll explain everything to you in my office later."

Albus Dumbledore clearly hoped Ian would leave now.

"I'm actually more anxious to know if these magic runes on me will keep glowing?" Ian looked down at his still-exposed upper body.

The golden runes pulsed like breathing, lighting up and extinguishing.

"As far as I know, they'll stabilize. You don't need to worry about glowing indefinitely." Albus Dumbledore's gentle response carried a reassuring sincerity.

Ian felt much more at ease.

"Alright, Professor, can I take this magic mirror with me? In the spirit of me having safeguarded our school once again and shed quite a bit of sweat for the safety of other little wizards?"

Ian actually wanted to say he had shed blood for the school, but he couldn't find a drop of blood on his body, unsure if a mouth ulcer could count as a merit.

"Ian, being overly immersed in the illusory scenes brought by the Mirror of Erised doesn't benefit you at all." Albus Dumbledore couldn't help but frown at his words.

"I'm just looking to study it a bit. You know, as an alchemist, I'd certainly want to research such an ancient alchemy creation."

Ian stated earnestly.

Albus Dumbledore still seemed a bit hesitant.

Nicolas Flamel at this point also stepped in to speak on Ian's behalf, "An alchemist needs to have this kind of curiosity. It wasn't little Ian who was obsessed with this mirror."

He was clearly hinting at something.

Making Albus Dumbledore's face a bit uncomfortable.

"Alright, I can give it to you, but if I find it affecting you, I'll take it back." Albus Dumbledore sighed heavily before nodding in agreement to Ian's request.
