Everyone in the guild looked at Qi Yan and Elfman in disbelief.

Qi Yan was also stunned when he saw everyone: "Oh! Everyone's here."

"Qi Yan?! Elfman?! You're okay?"

"Okay? What's okay?"

Qi Yan was a bit confused; what could have happened to them?

Makarov waved his hand: "It's good that you're okay! Luckily, you didn't go on that mission. That mission has already been changed to S-Class. I was really worried you'd get hot-headed and take it on. Giving up the mission was the right thing to do."

"Give up the mission? Give up what mission?"

"What else could it be? It's the Phantom Bandit Gang mission you accepted!"

"We completed that mission!"

"What did you say?!"

Everyone in the guild was startled by this, all looking at Qi Yan in disbelief.

Mira looked at Elfman with an inquiring gaze, and Elfman nodded at Mira, confirming the answer.

Makarov's eyes widened as he looked at Qi Yan: "You... you really completed it? You defeated the 'King of Assassins' Camille."

Qi Yan nodded: "Yeah! That guy was quite troublesome, a bit difficult to deal with."

"..."

Elfman didn't speak, but he inwardly grumbled: 'Yeah! He was quite difficult to deal with, it only took a minute to resolve him.'

"You... why are you so reckless? This was an S-Class mission! That was the infamous 'King of Assassins'."

Qi Yan spread his hands: "I couldn't help it! The mission was already accepted, I couldn't just give up, could I? Besides, they were trying to kill my client, I couldn't just stand by and do nothing, could I? That would damage Fairy Tail's reputation."

Just then, a newspaper vendor ran past the guild's entrance.

"Breaking news! Breaking news!"

"The notorious Phantom Bandit Gang has been fully apprehended!"

"The identity of the Phantom Bandit Gang's leader is shocking!"

Guild members quickly went to buy a copy.

"It's really done!!"

"Qi Yan, a newcomer who just joined the guild, actually completed an S-Class mission! This is too amazing!"

"Yeah! No wonder he could defeat Natsu, this guy's strength is monstrous!"... Seeing the reports in the newspaper, guild members exclaimed in surprise. They finally believed that Qi Yan had truly completed an S-Class mission, after all, it was already in the newspaper. The newspaper clearly stated that Qi Yan, a Mage from Fairy Tail, had defeated the Phantom Bandit Gang.

Makarov took a deep breath and said: "Report the mission process."

Elfman began to report the mission process, detailing it from beginning to end.

And listening to Elfman's report, it turned out that Qi Yan had completed it all by himself.

He alone defeated thirteen members of the Phantom Bandit Gang, including Camille, known as the 'King of Assassins'. This was too incredible.

Makarov breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Qi Yan, saying: "This time it's fine, but don't be so reckless again!"

"Understood! Oh, by the way, Master, since I've even completed an S-Class mission, can I go upstairs to the second floor?"

The second floor had many S-Class missions he coveted. As long as he completed more S-Class missions, he would get more chances to draw prizes, and then his strength would surely soar.

"That's right!"

"Qi Yan has completed an S-Class mission, so he should be able to go to the second floor."

S-Class missions are very dangerous even for S-Class Mages. Since Qi Yan completed an S-Class mission, he also had the qualifications to go to the second floor.

"No!"

"An S-Class mission is an S-Class mission, and the second floor is the second floor. To go to the second floor, you must become an S-Class Mage. This is a guild rule."

Makarov immediately refused. This stubborn kid Qi Yan dared to take on an S-Class mission right after joining the guild. If he let this brat go to the second floor, who knows what this kid would do, maybe even take on a century mission.

And he also cut off the ideas of others who wanted to go to the second floor by completing S-Class missions. If everyone wanted to go to the second floor and take on S-Class missions, he wouldn't be able to handle the worry.

"Sigh! Alright! Master, how do I become an S-Class Mage?"

Qi Yan was a bit disappointed, having thought he could just go to the second floor and pick missions freely.

Makarov replied: "To become an S-Class Mage, you must wait for the S-Class Mage promotion exam at the end of the year. Only by passing the S-Class exam can you be promoted to an S-Class Mage."

Qi Yan's eyes widened: "End of the year?! It's only the beginning of the year now! That means I have to wait another half year!"

"That's right!"

Makarov thought to himself: 'You brat, you should just honestly go do other missions.'

Soon, the guild returned to its usual state, with many people eagerly discussing Qi Yan's completion of the S-Class mission. Looking at the photos of the destruction in the newspaper, one could tell the intensity of the battle.

Qi Yan ordered a full table of dishes. After half a month of hardship since transmigrating, now that he had money, he wanted to make up for it all.

During dinner, many people in the guild invited him to form a permanent team, but he politely declined each one, saying he wanted to act alone for the time being.

Teaming up had its advantages, primarily increased safety and the ability to challenge more difficult jobs together.

But that was based on similar strength levels. If the strength gap was too large, it would only affect his work speed.

Affecting his work speed meant affecting his speed of getting stronger.

Furthermore, his goal was to become an S-Class Mage, and once he did, he would definitely be taking S-Class missions. Insufficient strength would only make it more dangerous, so rather than breaking up then, it was better to refuse now.

Qi Yan called out: "Mira! Another beer!"

"Coming!"

Mira quickly brought a beer and placed it on Qi Yan's table.

"Qi Yan, thank you very much this time."

He heard from Elfman that Qi Yan went to deal with the Phantom Bandit Gang alone, without letting Elfman intervene, and after completing the mission, he still wanted to give half of the reward to Elfman. In the end, it was Elfman's insistence that he only took 1 million J. 1 million J was not a small sum; it required completing a very difficult hunting mission to get such a high reward.

Qi Yan blinked: "Thank me? Why? I should be thanking you. Thanks to you for having Elfman guide me, if Elfman hadn't protected the client on this mission, I might have completed the mission but had no one to pay the reward."

Hearing Qi Yan say this, Mira's impression of Qi Yan improved significantly: "If you ever need my help with anything in the future, just say so."

At this moment, Qi Yan remembered something: "Hmm, I actually do have something I'd like your help with."

"What is it?"

"I want to buy a house."
