Chapter 83 - Chapter 82: Communication

Chapter 82: Communication

The Emperor looked at Omega and nodded in satisfaction, then smiled.

"Malcador, his extraordinary wisdom and profound understanding have truly reached the level of a sage, which is somewhat beyond my expectations!"

The Emperor and Malcador did not press Omega on how he had attained such a level of understanding. The Emperor sensed an incomparably powerful rationality in Omega, unlike the human warmth and admiration that Horus and others showed him.

As the ruler of mankind, the Emperor had always felt that the Primarch's feelings for him were somewhat strange, but now he had finally encountered a Primarch who viewed him with pure rationality.

The Emperor was very interested in exchanging ideas with Omega, wanting to know just how far Omega's wisdom had come.

Malcador stood quietly to the side, cane in hand, watching as the great Emperor and Omega exchanged words in a relaxed and casual manner.

In his eyes, Omega did not have the same reverence for emperors as Horus and others, but rather a pure rationality.

Time passed slowly, and after chatting with the Emperor for more than ten minutes, Omega discovered that the Emperor possessed a vast amount of knowledge, as if he were an expert in all fields, as if the wisdom of all human civilization were contained in the man before him.

Realizing for the first time that such people existed in this universe, Omega was extremely curious and wanted to understand what kind of person the Emperor was.

The Emperor was also surprised to discover Omega's insightful understanding of the systems and developments of various civilizations throughout human history. However, he remained reserved in his words, hesitant to voice some of his thoughts. He did not press for details but continued the conversation.

The dozen Primarchs outside the palace hall were quite surprised when Omega and the Emperor did not emerge after waiting for several hours. They waited in the square, occasionally glancing toward the palace doors.

...

Seven days and seven nights later, Guilliman and the others watched in astonishment as a group of people walked out of the palace gates.

The Emperor, beaming with joy, led the newly returned Primarch, Malcador, and a group of Custodians before the crowd.

Sanguinius and Horus couldn't help but stare at Omega, whose face was marked with exhaustion.

With the emperor before him, Omega couldn't help but admire the man's astonishing wisdom; he was truly a wise, knowledgeable genius who seemed to know everything.

Over the past eighty years, Omega has demonstrated remarkable wisdom and extraordinary insight. However, he doesn't absorb and learn everything; he has preferences and is too lazy to learn unimportant knowledge, such as the vast amount of culture and art in human history.

He was less than two hundred years old, while the emperor was probably tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of years old; their wisdom was as vastly different as a river and the sea.

Unfortunately, the Emperor loved exchanging knowledge with others. After seven days, Omega felt his wisdom had been completely drained, and even so, he still couldn't grasp the depth of the Emperor's wisdom.

Malcador, glancing sidelong at the somber-faced Omega, was struck by the man's remarkable wisdom.

The development of Alpharius has somewhat exceeded Malcador's expectations, and the development of Omega is also estimated to have exceeded Alpharius's expectations. Malcador feels that things are always developing in unexpected ways.

Snowflakes drifted down across the grand square outside the palace as the Emperor joyfully announced that a grand ceremony would be held a month later to mark the official return of the twentieth Primarch.

This message was quickly relayed from the Imperial Guard to the various legions and the Adeptus Mechanicus.

The Imperial government will also inform everyone on Terra of this grand event, and the message will spread like ripples until it covers the entire solar system.

...

In the palace hall, a dozen Primarchs dined with the Emperor.

Omega didn't seem to care about the curious stares from the crowd, but he was thinking about Alpharius, who was not present.

Everyone behaved very well while the Emperor was present, but after the Emperor finished his meal and left with Malcador, the Primarchs immediately became lively. Voices rose, and chairs shifted.

They were curious about what the Emperor and Omega had been doing for those seven days and seven nights. When pressed, Omega could only say that they were chatting.

Leman Russ, the Space Wolves' Primarch, held up two large roasted meat legs with both hands and handed one over, saying strangely...

"Don't you drink or eat meat while you're chatting?"

Omega took a bite of a roasted leg and said, "Just eat whatever you like. It's a bit impolite to eat and drink so much in the palace. Although I don't know the palace rules, I know I can't just do whatever I want!"

"No need to be so reserved, the Emperor won't mind! Ha-Ha," Leman Russ laughed, drinking and eating meat with abandon.

Many of the Primarchs advised Omega to do whatever he wanted, saying that this was his true nature and a real man's way.

A burst of laughter and conversation made the dinner quite lively.

Omega has long known that there is competition and not the harmony one might imagine among the Primarchs.

For example, Lorgar and Guilliman barely speak to each other now. Everyone knows that the two are rivals because of the Perfect City incident, but Lorgar doesn't want to show it.

Similarly, Leman Russ is known as the Emperor's executioner. His words and actions were extremely bold, and none of the other Primarchs wanted to get close to him.

Angron left early because of a headache. He was worried that if he stayed any longer, he would get into a fight with the others, and he didn't like the competitive atmosphere of the dinner party.

Of those present, only Perturabo, Horus, Sanguinius, and Ferrus Manus were more talkative.

Fulgrim is an extremely handsome man clad in exquisite armor, with distinctive shoulder markings. He gestured enthusiastically as he spoke. Fulgrim felt that Omega was easy to talk to, so they began to discuss culture and art in person. Omega only knew a little about it and occasionally replied with a few words.

Fulgrim expressed regret upon discovering that Omega did not understand the beauty of art, feeling that the two were not kindred spirits.

Ferrus Manus, who was on good terms with Fulgrim and was a master of science and mechanics among the Primarchs, chimed in; the two immediately began discussing space battleships and space warfare tactics, which happened to be exactly what Omega was most knowledgeable about.

The two chatted very pleasantly, while Perturabo, who had been sitting to the side, remained silent and occasionally let out a cold snort.

Omega was speechless at how troublesome these Primarchs were when he suddenly noticed a sinister gaze fixed on him. He paused mid-sentence.

He looked up and met Konrad Curze's meaningful gaze, sipping his blood-red wine and studying Omega intently.

At this moment, Omega was speechless that his subordinates kept using the name Alpharius.

Now several Primarchs are scrutinizing him, and he can't admit to having been to Terra before, exposing knowledge and technology related to the Imperium of Man.

Having barely managed to hold out until the event ended, Omega had the Custodians escort him back to the Alpha Legion's fortress.

In the grand square, only Jaghatai Khan with his spiky hair and the quiet Corvus Corax remained, watching Omega recede into the distance with strange expressions.

The Khan crossed his arms, laughed loudly, and said... "Do you really think he doesn't know the way?"

"Alpharius probably doesn't know the place since it's his first time in Terra, so it's normal for him to have the Imperial Guards lead the way, hehehehe!" Corvus Corax couldn't help but laugh out loud at the end.

"Hahaha, yes, I think so too!"

Jaghatai Khan, his deep eyes gleaming, laughed heartily and strode down the steps with an air of grandeur. Corvus Corax, alone, gazed at the distant city, shook his head slightly, and followed suit.

None of them confronted Omega directly, and they each had their own judgment on the specific truth.

At the gates of the Alpha Legion's fortress, shortly after the Custodian Commander gave the order, a swarm of Alpha warriors clad in blue-green power armor had arrived.

Seeing that Omega and the Alpha warriors were having a friendly get-together, the Custodians also made their departure.

As soon as they left, the Alpha Warriors looked at Omega with strange expressions. Among them were several elites who had fought alongside Omega before, and they wouldn't mistake him just by looking at his physique and demeanor.

"Greetings, it is a great pleasure to meet you all. My name is Alpharis!" Omega said with a smile.

"My name is also Alpharius!"

"I'm Alpharius too!"

As if on cue, the Alpha warriors present spoke in unison.

Omega coughed and gestured for the group to go inside, saying that there might be someone watching outside. The warriors exchanged glances before moving toward the entrance.

As soon as the group entered the fortress, Konrad Curze, clad in power armor and wearing a cloak, appeared in a corner outside, a slight, cold smile playing on his lips.

"So you really are Alpharius. He-He, this Ghost Legion certainly has quite a few secrets!"

Curze wasn't interested in the secrets of Alpharius and his antics, but the influx of criminals into the Medias sector drew his attention to the Alpha Legion.

He, who prides himself on his brutal justice, will keep a close eye on the development of criminals in that sector and will exercise his judgment when necessary.

He'll teach Alpharius a lesson then, so he'll know that only fear is the best punishment for evil.
