I stood on the other side of the wall, just out of sight, listening as she climbed into bed. She still refused to tell me what she'd done to me, even under the power of the necklace.
But whatever it was, it was clearly getting worse.
I couldn't take my eyes off her the entire time I was with her. The fierceness in her beautiful blue eyes, and the way she wanted to rebel every time I gave her an order, were almost… adorable.
The night she broke into my room, I was too shocked to take a good look at her features, but seeing them now nearly put me into an awkward situation.
Closing my eyes, I let out a sigh. Inside, I felt my wolf stir, unhappy with the way I interacted with her.
'Maybe I was a bit harsh…'
I slammed my fists against the wall. This was exactly what I was trying to avoid: becoming soft. But for whatever reason, I couldn't help myself.
'This needs to be fixed before it's too late. I'll speak to the healer in the morning to see if she's found anything yet.'
