Chapter 7 - MYSTERIOUS

Edward frowned, staring at the flickering notification."Connection temporarily interrupted? What the hell does that even mean?"

The glowing text on his phone glitched, letters twisting and reforming as static buzzed faintly in the air.

Edward blinked. "Wait— hidden event? What's that supposed to mean? I just did a few push-ups!"

"Criteria?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow. "What kind of criteria? Like, more push-ups? Or maybe... a sacrifice? Because if it's money, Sugar, you're not getting my $1,600."

"Ugh... vague answers. Classic system behavior." He sighed, rubbing his forehead. "At least give me a hint."

Edward rolled his eyes but couldn't help smiling. "So basically, I just have to keep grinding. Great. Guess I'm living in an RPG now."

He sat back down on the bed, breathing out slowly. "Fine. But when that hidden event shows up, Sugar, it better not be another round of brain-drilling pain."

Edward shuddered. "Yeah... that's not comforting."

He glanced at his phone again, the $1,600 balance shining brightly. For the first time, the number didn't just represent money — it represented possibility.A strange, exciting thought crossed his mind.

"If this system really rewards effort... then maybe... I can actually change my life."

He smiled to himself, eyes burning with quiet determination."Alright then, Sugar. Let's see how far this rabbit hole goes."

"well lets take a bath for now"

Edward took a quick shower. When he stepped out, he threw on a loose white shirt and a pair of track pants, stretching his arms with a small yawn.

"Well... let me think," he murmured. "What should I eat for breakfast?"

He opened the small fridge — only to find a lonely half-empty water bottle and a pack of expired noodles staring back at him.He sighed. "Right... I don't have anything in here."

Straightening up, he smirked. "Guess I'll go shopping. I'm not short on cash for once."

Just as he reached for his phone—

MISSION:A Healthy Life Should Start With Healthy Food.DETAILS:Have a proper breakfast made with nutritious ingredients.REWARD:$10,000 and [World-Class Cooking Skill].

Edward blinked at the glowing message hovering in front of him."Wait... what? You're telling me I can get ten grand and become Gordon Ramsay just for eating breakfast?!"

He groaned. "So I can't just order pancakes from a café, huh? Figures."

Still, his lips curled into a grin. "But world-class cooking skill... that actually sounds pretty damn useful."

"Alright then, Sugar — let's go hunting for some nutritious food."

Edward paused mid-step. "Wait— this time? What do you mean this time?!"

He squinted at the invisible screen, then laughed. "You've got jokes now, huh? Fine. Challenge accepted."

He stepped out of the apartment, sunlight washing over him as the city stirred awake below. For the first time in a long while, Edward felt like life was finally moving forward — one mission at a time.
