Cherreads

Chapter 44 - Chapter 44

‎The next morning, Su Ning woke at seven, the faint hum of the city filtering through her curtains. She stretched languidly, her movements graceful and unhurried before slipping into the bathroom.

A warm shower cascaded over her, washing away the remnants of sleep and leaving her skin delicately flushed. She applied her skincare in practiced motions — each layer of cream and essence bringing out the soft glow of her porcelain skin.

‎In front of her mirror, Su Ning dressed in a simple yet effortlessly striking outfit — a purple silk blouse tucked into tailored ash-gray pants that outlined her long legs. Her ankle shoes were of fine Italian leather, comfortable yet chic, their subtle shine catching the light.

For jewelry, she chose a set of purple jade — earrings shaped like teardrops, a slender bracelet that coiled gently around her wrist, and a pendant that rested perfectly against her collarbone. Together, they radiated understated elegance — luxurious without being ostentatious.

‎Her long black hair fell loose and smooth down her back, a faint floral fragrance following her as she moved. From her closet — a neat arrangement of high-end fashion pieces — she selected a soft lilac handbag, its metallic clasps engraved with delicate patterns.

‎Downstairs, the morning air was cool and fresh. She brewed herself a cup of rose tea, savoring its aroma as the steam curled lazily in the air. A quiet calm settled over her as she took a sip — a rare stillness before another day of movement.

‎After finishing, she stepped outside. A tailored car was already waiting by the driveway. With a gentle nod to the driver, she entered and the vehicle glided away toward the airport.

‎The terminal buzzed with travelers, but Su Ning drew eyes the moment she stepped in. Heads turned — some in admiration, others in quiet envy. Her poise and beauty carried an air of refinement that made even the simplest gesture seem graceful.

‎She passed through the checkpoint with ease. Staff members greeted her with practiced smiles tinged with genuine awe. Soon, she was escorted into the VIP lounge — a serene, secluded space reserved for the elite. The soft scent of brewed coffee filled the air, and plush seats of pale velvet invited relaxation.

‎The cabin smelled faintly of leather and luxury. Every surface gleamed. She settled in comfortably, placing her coat neatly beside her and fastening her seatbelt. The hum of the engines was low, almost soothing.

‎A soft voice from the attendant came through.

‎"Miss, would you like a drink before takeoff?"

‎Su Ning looked up with a faint smile. "Water is fine."

‎The attendant nodded and returned moments later with a crystal glass of chilled water. Su Ning thanked her quietly, took a sip, then turned to look out the window.

‎The runway stretched endlessly ahead. The sky was a perfect, cloudless blue. She could already feel the faint vibration under her feet as the engines roared to life.

‎As the plane began to move, Su Ning leaned her head against the seat. Her eyes reflected the golden light streaming through the glass.

‎Su Ning put her phone in airplane mode and brought out her the tablet she had earlier gotten from at the Azure Lake shopping mall.

‎‎At cruising altitude, the view outside was breathtaking. The clouds were like soft cotton, and sunlight bathed everything in a golden haze. Su Ning sat quietly, earbuds in, listening to soft instrumental music while flipping through documents on her tablet.

‎But they weren't ordinary documents.

‎These were digital blueprints — the full internal structures of Zongsheng Medical Centre, Luminous Beauty Spa and her other companies. Every department, every subsidiary, every regional manager's name appeared neatly.

She had spent part of the night glancing through it before sleeping, due to her photographic memory, she could remember everything at a glance and she could understand and provide solutions to any difficulty, no matter what field it was, as long as she glanced through. The system was really amazing.

‎Soon, the system sounded.

‎'Host, would you like a strategic analysis of the overall medical field and capital business sector?]

‎The system's calm, genderless voice broke her concentration slightly.

‎"Yes please" Su Ning murmured quietly.

‎'Transfering files to Host's tablet'

‎A load of medical and business files were transferred into her tablet. She took a sip of water as she began to glance through at shocking speed, every detail and analysis storing in her brain.

‎The flight continued peacefully. Occasionally, attendants passed through with trays of drinks and light snacks. Su Ning politely declined most of them, content with just water and quiet thoughts.

‎She typed in short notes on her tablet— fragments of ideas for product expansions, partnerships, and research investments.

‎Two hours later, the captain's voice came through the speaker, calm and professional.

‎"Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be arriving at the Capital International Airport shortly. Please fasten your seatbelts as we begin our descent."

‎Su Ning packed her things neatly, slid the tablet into her bag, and looked out the window once more.

‎The capital stretched out below — vast, glittering, magnificent. Towering skyscrapers caught the light like blades of glass. Highways curved gracefully through the city like veins of steel. It was a place that thrived on ambition and power, where dreams were built and destroyed in the same breath.

‎The plane touched down smoothly, the soft jolt pulling her slightly forward. Passengers began to unbuckle, chatter rising softly.

‎Su Ning stood, unhurried. Her every movement carried quiet confidence, like someone perfectly in control of her own story.

‎She stepped off the plane and into the VIP lane. The soft click of her shoes echoed as she walked through the terminal. Cameras flashed occasionally, not at her, but at some celebrity disembarking nearby yet even in the crowd, she stood out subtly, like a painting in motion.

‎Outside, the air was warmer, heavier with city scent — exhaust, coffee, money.
