The faint shimmer of starlight lingered in Su Ning's bedroom. Curtains danced softly as the night wind brushed through the slightly opened window. The city outside had fallen into silence; even the distant hum of traffic was faint. Only the rhythmic tick of the crystal wall clock filled the room.
Su Ning sat cross-legged on her bed, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders like silk. The system's earlier words still echoed faintly in her mind.
'Host may now enter the System Space at will.'
Her curiosity burned brighter than sleep. Closing her eyes, she whispered, "System, take me inside."
The air rippled—then in a blink, the world shifted.
She opened her eyes to find herself standing in a vast expanse field, bathed in gentle golden light. The sky above was neither day nor night, a soft gradient of peach and silver, clouds drifting lazily across a boundless horizon. The air was crisp, scented faintly with something like dew and spring flowers.
Under her feet, field of green stretched endlessly in every direction, yet felt peaceful rather than empty. The space pulsed faintly with energy, like it was alive and aware of its master's presence.
At the center of the field stood a massive structure—tall, imposing, and elegant. From afar, it resembled a colossal warehouse, but as Su Ning approached, she realized it was far more refined than that. Its walls were made of pearlescent stone, glinting faintly with light that seemed to come from within.
The doors were carved with intricate symbols that shimmered faintly when she neared them, responding to her presence.
Su Ning pushed open the doors gently. They opened without sound.
Inside, the air was cool and spacious. The building was mostly empty, but everything was neat—spotless. Long counters stretched along the walls, and wide shelves rose high toward the ceiling, all unfilled but waiting.
Upstairs in the warehouse was a large bedroom with luxurious bed, draped with white silk sheets and golden embroidery that shimmered faintly. A plush pillow lay at its head, the kind that promised comfort even in a realm outside reality. Her silver suitcase sat on the bed, the documents and Qi bottles she had earlier thrown in.
The closet was also empty, along with the drawers.
A large glass bathroom and a grand polished empty kitchen were connected to it.
Beside the bed was a sleek mahogany table and a single elegant chair, carved in flowing patterns and polished until it gleamed. A faint light orb floated near the ceiling, illuminating the room like a soft moon.
Downstairs, Su Ning ran her fingers along one of the empty shelves, marveling at how clean and perfect it was. The whole place had an otherworldly tranquility—simple yet profoundly grand. It wasn't cold or mechanical like she had imagined a system space would be; it was quiet and alive, as though it recognized her as its master.
'This is your inner domain, Host.
Here, time obeys only you. Nothing can enter or leave without your will.'
Su Ning's lips curved faintly. "So this is my space…" she murmured. "My own little world."
She spent a while walking around the vast hall, occasionally pausing to inspect every corner. The emptiness didn't bother her—it filled her with possibility. The shelves and counters were blank pages, waiting for her to write her story upon them.
When she was done exploring, she waved her hand gently. "Exit."
The next instant, her eyes fluttered open—she was back in her bedroom, lying on her bed as if she had never left. The transition was seamless, as though she had merely blinked.
Excitement flickered in her eyes. She stood up and went to her drawer where she had kept all the documents of ownership for her companies and waved them into the space. They were safer there.
Feeling playful, she decided to test more. She opened her closet, selected a few outfits, comfortable dresses, and a few elegant nightwears, few jewelry sets, shoes, and bags. Then she packed them into a silver suitcase and, with a wave of her hand, they vanished into the space as well.
Her grin widened. The convenience was simply unbelievable.
"Traveling will be a lot easier now," she murmured, pleased. "No more heavy luggages."
Satisfied, Su Ning returned to her bed. She picked up her phone from the nightstand and began scrolling through flight schedules. The soft glow of the screen illuminated her face in the dark room. Her long lashes cast faint shadows under her eyes.
She quickly found what she wanted—a morning flight to the capital, leaving at nine o'clock. Without hesitation, she booked a VIP ticket.
Her finger hovered briefly over the confirmation button before she tapped it. A soft chime confirmed her booking. She placed the phone beside her pillow and exhaled softly, leaning back against the headboard.
Her mind was still buzzing with everything that had happened—the Chen family, the new space, the contracts, her aura, her wealth. It was almost too much to take in at once, but somehow she felt… calm. Everything was falling into place, just as if destiny itself had rewritten the script to favor her.
Then her phone rang, breaking her thoughts.
She smiled as she saw the caller ID. "Anya."
She picked it up. "Hey, little princess."
"Ningning!" Chen Anya's voice was bright and full of energy, different from her past reserved self, even though it was already past midnight. "You're still awake?"
"Mm, couldn't sleep yet," Su Ning replied, lying down comfortably. "You?"
"I couldn't either! I just wanted to talk—I still can't believe everything that happened today!" Anya's laughter rang through the speaker, sweet and youthful. "I can't suppress my exictement—my room is so big, and my bed feels like heaven. My bathroom even has a jacuzzi! And the wardrobe, Ningning! It's bigger than my entire old bedroom!"
Su Ning chuckled softly. "I knew you'd like it."
"I love it!" Anya said immediately. "Oh, and I can't seem to take my eyes off my jewelry drawer! It looks like one of those displays in luxury stores. I just keep opening it to stare. I feel like a rich heiress from a drama!"
"You are one now," Su Ning teased lightly. "The Chen family's heiress."
Anya giggled. "Stop teasing me! You don't know how happy my parents are. Mom keeps checking the kitchen like she's afraid she'll wake up and it'll disappear. Dad's been smiling all evening."
Su Ning smiled quietly, her chest warming. "That's good. You all deserve it."
There was a pause, then Anya's voice softened. "Ningning… thank you again. I don't know how we could ever repay you."
Su Ning shook her head even though Anya couldn't see her. "Don't say that. You're my family now. Seeing you happy is enough."
For a moment, there was silence—just soft breathing on the line. Then Anya's cheerful tone returned. "Alright then. By the way, can we hang out soon? We should plan our shopping trips and gossip sessions."
Su Ning laughed. "We just saw each other."
"That's different! We were with my parents the whole day," Anya protested. "Come on, please? Maybe the day after tomorrow?"
Su Ning smiled faintly, eyes half-closed as she imagined Anya's pout. "Alright. The day after tomorrow."
"Yay!" Anya exclaimed happily. "It's a promise! Don't you dare cancel."
"I won't," Su Ning promised. "Now go to sleep, little troublemaker."
Anya giggled again. "Goodnight, Ningning. Sweet dreams."
"Goodnight, Anya."
The line went dead, leaving a soft silence behind. Su Ning placed the phone aside and exhaled deeply, her smile lingering. Her room felt peaceful again, bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight filtering through the curtains.
She turned her head slightly. The time on the wall clock read 1:03 AM.
Su Ning blinked in mild surprise. "So late already…"
Her body finally began to feel the weight of the day's events—the excitement, the discoveries, the emotions. She rose briefly, switched off the lamp, and slipped under the soft blanket.
Beside her pillow sat her large teddy bear, its fur impossibly fluffy and soft. She hugged it instinctively, the familiar warmth comforting. Her eyes fluttered closed as she nestled against it.
Outside, the city lights sparkled faintly through the glass walls. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of strawberries from her earlier bath.
Su Ning's lips curved in a small smile as sleep began to pull her under.
Her thoughts before drifting off was simple, calm, content, and resolute.
