Yu Mingyuan's approach to handling matters was far from as gentle and refined as his outward appearance suggested. As long as the interests of his own group weren't affected, he was a person who could bend and stretch, rational, objective, and never hesitant to back down when necessary. But once someone severely infringed upon his or his group's interests, especially if the situation couldn't be salvaged, he would turn on them faster than anyone.
Yu Mingyuan's personality was very well-hidden because, to outsiders, he appeared extremely friendly, even somewhat easygoing, often giving off the impression that he was soft.
Clearly, Tang Baiqing's understanding of Yu Mingyuan was just like this, which is why he was caught completely off guard when he received that slap.
...
With the military's intervention, the remaining matters were relatively simple. Though Xu Hu and his men were dissatisfied, they could only watch as the people and goods were hauled away.
After leaving the warehouse, Yu Mingyuan took out 40,000 yuan in cash from the car and handed it directly to Su Tianyu. "For medical expenses, the night allowance for the team, and taking care of the others. If this isn't enough, call Linda."
Su Tianyu nodded immediately. "Got it."
"I'm heading back. I'll call you tomorrow."
"Alright, Brother Yuan!"
After a brief exchange, Yu Mingyuan opened the car door to get in but suddenly stopped, as if remembering something, and turned back to ask, "Xiao Yu, what would you have done if I hadn't come today?"
"We've been together for months now. I know your character, you value loyalty, follow the rules. I knew you'd definitely come," Su Tianyu replied without hesitation.
"Shut up, speak properly." Yu Mingyuan was slightly curious.
Su Tianyu wiped the blood from his face and persisted, "I'm speaking properly, I knew you'd definitely come."
"I really want to piss in your mouth," Yu Mingyuan didn't believe him but didn't ask further, bending down to get into the car.
"Boss, take it easy on the drive," Dog Six said, baring his teeth.
Yu Mingyuan ignored him and started driving off. But when he reached the street corner, he noticed Wang Daolin, accompanied by several officers, standing next to a police car, speaking in low voices.
Seeing this, Yu Mingyuan smirked. "Young man, you've done things very neatly."
Less than half a minute later, the car Su Tianyu and the others were in, followed by a military vehicle, reached the intersection.
The van stopped briefly, and Su Tianyu lowered the window. He didn't get out to meet Wang Daolin but instead saluted him from the car.
Wang Daolin nodded in response, then, dressed in a bulletproof vest and uniform, bent down to get into the police car. "Let's go, head back," he said.
After exchanging gestures from a distance, both sides departed from Tianhong Port.
...
Ten minutes later, on the outskirts of the street, the hundred-plus people led by the three elderly heads of the Su, Bai, and Kong families saw the convoy approaching.
"They're back!" Bai Hongbo's father saw the scene and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Damn it, if they're not back, I'll break in!" Su Zhengcai, seeing that things had settled, immediately regained his energy, shouting loudly.
Old Bai glanced at Su Zhengcai with his hands behind his back. "When it comes to showing off, you're the best."
The two old men from the Bai and Su families were quite interesting. They had served together in the same military unit back in the day, with similar ranks. Later, after both settled in Dragon City, they continued in similar business ventures. Their personalities were different, though, which made their families competitive with each other.
If it weren't for the earlier false accusations about the arms case, forcing the four families to unite, and Bai Hongbo recently getting close to the younger generation of the Su family, the two families would rarely have interacted.
"Bai Dapiao, do I still need to show off in front of you? Before we went in, you were shouting for a reshuffle. But after going in, you were the first to back down!"
"Su Zhengcai, stop talking shit. You've got a big mouth, just say whatever you want!"
The two old men exchanged words, with Kong Zhenghui's father, feeling irritated, interrupting, "Enough, they're back."
While they were talking, two vans stopped, and Su Tianyu and the others got out.
"Is everyone alright?" Su Zhengcai and the others greeted them.
"Everything's fine. Yu Mingyuan came and sorted things out," Su Tianyu responded immediately. "You guys take the goods back. We need to head to the hospital. Da Bai, Zhang Hao, and the others are all badly injured."
Bai Dapiao had already reached the van door. He glanced inside but didn't see his son.
Bai Hongbo, covered in blood and wearing his motorcycle helmet, looked like a future warrior, groaning on the seat.
"Hongbo?" Bai Dapiao asked one of the family members.
"I… I'm here, Dad!" Bai Hongbo turned around and raised his hand.
Bai Dapiao glanced at his son and, after a long pause, asked, "Are you okay?"
"...I can handle it!" Bai Hongbo gritted his teeth and replied, sitting up.
"Let's get to the hospital." Bai Dapiao looked at his son's battered state and immediately said, "To the People's Hospital, quickly!"
Meanwhile, Su Tianyu turned to his second uncle and eldest brother, "Take the goods back first. We'll go to the hospital, and I'll call you when we arrive."
"Second brother, are you okay?" Su Tianan asked, seeing that Su Tianyu was fine, and then turned to Su Tianbei.
"I'm fine, no problem," Su Tianbei waved his hand.
The group stood on the roadside, chatting for less than five minutes, when the people from the Su, Bai, and Kong families had already unloaded the goods from the truck brought by the young officers and placed them into their own vehicles.
Zhang Hao, Bai Hongbo, and the others were badly injured. After Su Tianyu gave instructions to his second uncle, he immediately got into the car and rushed to the hospital.
On the way, Da Bai took off his helmet, blood pouring from his nose. He blocked his nostrils with his thumb and tilted his head, saying, "Fuck, I can't be bleeding from a brain hemorrhage, can I? Why won't this stop bleeding?"
"Quick, check if there's any more tissue in the car, hurry up and stop the bleeding," Su Tianbei called out.
"I'll block it for Miao Miao," Bai Hongbo responded smoothly.
"Fatass, I'll fucking kill you!"
"... Still have time for nonsense? You two deserve it more than anyone," Kong Zhenghui, holding his arm with a wound, muttered.
With Da Bai and Tianbei in the car, the otherwise tense atmosphere was lightened. Su Tianyu, sitting in the back and supporting Zhang Hao, looked up and urged, "Drive faster!"
Bai Hongbo turned his head, glancing at Su Tianyu's body with a complex expression.
"What are you staring at?" Su Tianyu asked.
"I'm just curious. We've all fought in the same room, so why are you the only one not seriously hurt?" Da Bai asked in confusion.
Indeed, out of the seventeen people who participated in the fight, Su Tianyu was the only one who was less injured. He didn't have any major cuts, only some scrapes and minor wounds, most of the blood on him was from others.
"You know why my family calls him Dog Six?" Su Tianbei asked.
"...I'm also a dog, but I still got hit!" Da Bai complained bitterly.
"Do you think you're a thief compared to him?" Kong Zhenghui mocked, "At the door, we three were blocking the way. When Wei Xiangzuo came in, Tianbei got knocked down, and I got kicked across the room. But he turned around and went back to hold Xu Er hostage. Once everyone entered the room, he leaned against the wall and started talking. Meanwhile, we were outside, swinging knives. Do you think he got hurt by a fly?"
"Dog Six, you're playing tricks on us, aren't you?" Da Bai pointed at Su Tianyu and said, "My helmet got cracked, and you're fine. This doesn't make sense! Come here, let me touch your little prick, I'll forgive you."
"Shut up, the reason you got hit is because of that helmet. Seventeen people, and you're the only one wearing a pot on your head. Who else were they going to hit?" Su Tianyu shot back, bluntly.
"Haha!"
Everyone laughed, and from that moment on, the nickname "Dog Six" was no longer limited to just the Su family. Da Bai, Kong Zhenghui, and the others also realized the essence of the nickname.
...
At the Dock Gang, after Xu Hu had his men take the injured to the hospital, he sat in the car, looking at Tang Baiqing, and said slowly, "From today on, if Yu Mingyuan can move a single item through the Zhanan Dock, I'll consider all my years of effort wasted."
Tang Baiqing, with a dark look on his face, replied, "Strangle him."
