Geto POV
As I awoke, I could feel the wind hitting my face like I was on a roller coaster, zooming through a theme park. I could also hear the roaring of cars—some honking, others revving—and then I opened my eyes.
I was mesmerized by the night sky. The city of Tokyo itself illuminated like stars, the tall buildings glowing in the distance. I turned my head and realized I was being carried over the shoulder of Mr. Gojo as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop.
"I barely sensed that curse—only after you activated that weird vow," muttered Mr. Gojo as we flew through the sky. "It was like it could make a barrier, but not a domain, per se."
"Thanks for the lift. Mind bringing me back home?" I said, slowly healing my body now that I was awake.
"The fact that you're alive is astonishing. I was only fifty percent sure you would be," Gojo said casually. "Glad luck's on my side."
"What if I was dead?" I asked.
"We would dissect you and see how your curse technique truly works," said Mr. Gojo without hesitation.
"Damn! So how much longer until I'm home?" I said, not caring for his tone.
"We'll be at the Gojo estate in roughly a couple of minutes."
I got ready to summon Steve and spoke, "Oh? For what?" I asked with suspicion.
"The elders of our—and your new—society have discovered a curse that couldn't be detected normally. When it was finally sensed, it turned out to be a special grade. I went first since it was near my estate and could have destroyed some of the new trees I planted."
"I see," I said flatly. The manga did say you have to be selfish to survive in this world.
"So color me surprised when I saw the investment—I mean, my son's best friend—fighting off the curse single-handedly with an army of curses. Truly a sight to behold," Gojo's father continued. "Thus, I made up my mind: join the Gojo clan as my adoptive son, abandon your kin, and inform the Jujutsu Society of your special grade status… or I tell the elders, and they lock you up."
"Your son?! Hell, I don't even know your first name!" I said, irritated.
"Oh, a feisty young investment, I see. But do you have another choice? You may not know this, but the strongest sorcerer before Gojo was a man with no cursed energy—and even he was seen as an enemy by his own blood."
"I can't imagine abandoning my family. My mother and father—they love me, even if I didn't spend much time with them." The name my mother gave me echoed in my ears: Cupcake.
"The name's Ryo," Gojo's father finally replied.
"That answer's a little late, don't you think?" I shot back.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
Answering the call, Ryo spoke, "Head of the Gojo clan speaking."
An older man's voice came through the phone.
"How boorish, you Neanderthal," said the voice. "I see that you dealt with the curse. As such, the Gojo clan shall be rewarded."
Muting the phone, Ryo turned to me and said, "Tick-tock, young investment. What'll it be—tell the truth or a new truth?"
"Reacting quickly—the school!!" I blurted out.
"At the school, you said marriage, right? Marry into the clan," Ryo said with a grin that reminded me of the devil himself.
"I'll marry into the clan," I said, thinking back to my earlier words: You have to be selfish to survive. But I wouldn't abandon my family. If I have to sacrifice the future of another to keep mine, I will.
"Hahaha!" Ryo laughed heartily as he ended the call before continuing, "In the Gojo clan, there's a vow stating that introducing outsiders to the bloodline must be approved by the clan head and must be done through marriage or adoption."
"So you had to trick me into joining? This is way too damn convoluted," I muttered.
"Don't worry, you'll love it. After all, my daughter is the most attractive woman in the clan—and your senior."
"By how much?" I asked, realizing Gojo never had siblings—or at least, not in the manga.
"Oh, I thought you didn't want to force anything or make it weird," I said dryly.
"I'd like to keep my parents, thank you very much."
"I see. She's actually about to become a first-year at Jujutsu High next year."
"I see. Well, I'm going home."
"Not so fast, my son-in-law. Marrying into the family makes you a branch member of the Gojo clan—as the head of your own branch. All members will reside in or around the Gojo estate," said Ryo.
"What about my parents?"
"They'll be included since you're a special grade."
"I see… Thankfully, I made a decent choice."
"Not really," Ryo replied. "My son likes you. If I'd told the elders, Gojo probably would've killed me."
"I hate you," I said flatly.
Ryo only smiled—that same ugly grin Gojo gave Sukuna in the manga.
After making our way to the estate, I was greeted by the sight of my parents stepping out of a limo as they saw me descend—still being carried by the 6'5" demigod.
"Who the hell are you people?! Yakuza?! Kidnapping my son and now driving us in a fancy limo to 'soothe' us?!" my mom yelled.
"The limo's seats are better than the couches at home," my dad added, earning a glare.
"You're not off the hook either, mister. Don't think I've forgiven you for drinking the stocked sake," she said.
"Hey, you drank some too!"
"Only because you offered!"
Ryo laughed heartily. "So this is what you didn't want to abandon. Different but similar—the bond of family. Truly a reason to fight. Now I see why you fight so hard," he said.
"Of course!" I said aloud, though internally, I added, And to not die just by existing. Curses don't care—they only kill.
As we entered together, my parents were informed about the hidden world beneath the surface. On the way, we ran into Gojo, who was immediately stunned upon hearing about the marriage.
"Dude… when I say good luck, I mean it. Dad's been trying to marry her off for years. But because of a vow my father made while drunk, no one's been able to marry her."
"What vow?" I asked, already suspecting a cliché.
"They have to be stronger than her," Gojo said matter-of-factly.
"Um, excuse me," my mom interrupted, "I'm still a little lost. Who is my son marrying? I'd like to meet them myself."
"Do y'all not care that it's by force?" I protested.
"Well, you accepted. And besides, I'll achieve my dream," my mom said.
"What dream?" I asked.
"To be a young grandmother, so her grandkids see her as young," replied my father quickly—only to be smacked.
"I want four! Hear me?"
"Four?! You don't even have 2 yet!"
"Well, how am I going to keep my figure?" my mom shot back.
Gojo chuckled. "Dude, good luck. My sister also wants a big family."
"Dude, wha—" Before I could finish, a booming voice shook the manor.
"FATHER! Your daughter has returned! And with me, I bring the downfall of the man you chose!"
A six-foot-tall woman crashed through a wall. I was mesmerized—she looked like a wilder version of Mei Mei, long hair tied into a ponytail, her eyes shining blue like she possessed the Six Eyes.
"My daughter, I've finally brought your husband. He's right here," Ryo said.
I stood awkwardly in my ripped clothes, entranced by her beauty.
"You mean to tell me this homeless boy is my husband? How old even is he?" Gojo's sister asked.
"He's twelve," Gojo replied.
"So you're my son's new wife?" my mother said, looking her up and down before nodding approvingly.
"He may look homeless, but he has the strength of a nation," added ryo.
"You can't possibly be saying he's the third special grade of this era," Gojo's sister said, shocked.
"Hey, what's your name?" I asked quickly.
"So you finally speak," she said, studying me. "Judging from your cursed energy, you're at the breaking point of Grade 1. But many are like that—like me."
I summoned Sekiro and Crow. Her eyes widened.
"You're that boy who was healed at Jujutsu High."
"Yeah, I was. How do you know?"
"I'm a noble in the Jujutsu world. Information travels easily. Now that I've seen what makes you strong—follow me to the sparring hall. The name's Aiko."
We followed. Gojo and his father looked excited, already betting against me. My parents told me not to hurt her, unaware of how serious this world really was.
The hall was massive, lined with weapons and murals of warriors fighting curses. Several cages surrounded a large central pit designed for training—apparently made for Gojo himself.
As all gathered to watch, my parents were given glasses. When they put them on, they saw Crow perched on my shoulder and Sekiro standing beside me.
"Oh my god, he doesn't have a head!" my father screamed.
My mother realized the truth—they weren't just "sorcerers." They were like shamans from myths, people who fought evil spirits.
Aiko stepped into the ring and began to speak.
"Lag."
"What?"
"Lag. It's my curse technique—it lets me see brain waves and slow them down to zero, effectively making you lag. However, my extension lets me speed up my own thoughts, increasing my reaction speed. I can also speed up neurons to the point your brain overloads—but only after I hit you with Lag ten times."
"So you plan to go all out?" I asked, blocking her first strike.
"Even with that boost, you saw that coming—you might actually be fun," she said, following with a kick.
Before I could block, everything went black—my body froze. Crow swooped in to save me as Sekiro attacked, only for Aiko to meet his blade with her fist, punching him away.
As I regained consciousness, I was in the corner of the arena, groaning. "Hey, what the hell was that? My brain feels like it's trying to reboot."
"That's the point. By the way—catch this!" Aiko yelled, dodging Sekiro and dropkicking toward me.
I caught her legs and swung her into a wall.
"Oh my, if this is just the start, I might actually fall in love with you," she teased.
"Oh yeah? You'll really love this." I summoned countless curses to attack her.
She hasn't used Lag again—must be a cooldown, I thought, forming a plan.
"Oh my, I don't care. Even after I win, I'll take you no matter what. Seeing what you can do—you can summon a challenge for me anytime," she said, smiling wildly.
Aiko POV
He's not an ordinary shikigami user. Usually, they hate hand-to-hand combat, but he doesn't shy away from it. My ability's still on cooldown—but luckily, it only applies to the person I last used it on. Meaning, all these curses are unaffected.
Geto POV
She launched at my curses, killing countless.
"Geez, chill! I took months to get that many curses!" I shouted. Man, she's a demon.
At least four meters around her, curses lagged even without contact. I had to keep my distance.
"Don't get complacent, my love!" she yelled, breaking through the swarm.
"Lag!!"
My mind went blank again. When I regained focus, she was pummeling me with a barrage of blows. I countered, punching her in the stomach. One of the lagged curses recovered and turned on her, but she quickly killed it.
So it really does have a cooldown—but only affects those she just hit.
I began counting. I ran, firing curses like bullets, waiting for the next "Lag."
"Lag!!"
Everything went dark again. When I came to, I remembered—thirty seconds.
"Thirty seconds," I said seriously.
"That's how long you think you can beat me?" she taunted.
"No. It's your cooldown," I replied coldly.
"Yes! Yes, it is! Truly, I feel as though my soulmate has become my husband—"
Before she could finish, I crashed into her. We clashed, fist meeting fist, kick meeting kick. Blood dripped from her lip, but she smiled.
"You've got seven more until you lose, my husband," she said lovingly.
Before she could charge again, she was once again swarmed by a mass of curses. Sekiro—who'd been hiding among the curses biding his time to strike until—he saw it quickly moving he wrapped his sword around her neck.
"Lag!!" she yelled, realizing too late it was Sekiro.
"That is the match!" Ryo announced loudly. "The winner—my son-in-law, Suguru Geto!"
He was quickly pulled aside by my mother, who opened her hand to reveal she'd bet on me.
"What about Gojo?" Ryo asked.
"Well, he's your son," my mother replied. "A father's debt isn't the son's responsibility—but the son's debt is the father's."
After the fight, Aiko pinned me down as the others saw this they quickly got the wrong idea, running off.
You thought I'd be done after one round, oh my sweat, little Suguru! She said predetorly
Wait, how do you know that I never told you my name? I cried out as I tried to crawl away, but she dragged me back into the arena. We fought for twelve more rounds before I passed out.
Aiko's POV:
To think such a big surprise is in such a little package. I love it, and everything about you, Gojo, is at your school now Ive heard, and I've grown bored of homeschooling after all. If I can't be by his side, what kind of wife would I be?
